Wilderness Lodge? Resales seem slow?

Checking the Timeshare Store for new listings is practically a morning ritual for me. Trying to find add-ons for BCV w/ our UY (Sept) has been tough, but I always look at all the listings just to see what's out there. It seems like many VWL resales have been around for some time? Is there a reason for this? Just curious.

My opinion, and admittedly it is just an opinion, is that the current contracts you're seeing are either too stripped of points, too large, or too expensive per point to move quickly.

Resale is a fairly open market- the only thing holding it back from being completely open is when the brokers try to influence price, by pressuring either buyer or seller in that regard.

As an enthusiastic VWL owner, I wouldn't be too excited about adding more at the $80pp that is being asked for the non-stripped contracts currently on the market. But maybe some buyer out there would be...and all it takes is one buyer for the contract to sell.

I bought VWL earlier this year and at the time thought I over paid at $80 pp for an almost fully loaded contract. I am amazed that the PPP has held where it has given what appears to be a low turnover.

Some of the contracts I was looking at are still there, but it does look like those that have points do eventually move, but I wonder if the market for VWL is holding its breath a bit waiting for the Poly.

One of VWL's most attractive features was being the only MK-area DVC.

Now that they're working on a third Monorail DVC, VWL has lost some of its appeal.

VWL is still a great resort but it has local competition now.

Very small resort, very quiet, woods/tree view, doesn't appeal to the vast majority of owners.

I wonder why this isn't "official" yet? If you can't book 5 in the room, you can't do FPs and dining plans, etc., for more than 4.

It's competing against 2 (& soon 3) monorail access resorts - bus dependent - quiet with a late opening bar, tiny pool bar, small QS, kitsch restaurant and an expensive restaurant with no atmosphere with all the DVC rooms a wooded view.

Most of the suggestions are likely on the mark, save for the occasional inaccuracy (it's not bus dependent) or wholly personal preference (AP has no ambience?), but extra thought here: having looked for a small contract at VWL for several months until one appeared, it appears as though the smaller, unstripped contracts are quite popular and still charge a premium price. Even the sales of those has slowed a bit since this time last year, but they move much more quickly than, say, a 300-pt contract with limited points available commanding an $80+ pp price tag.

You might want to check the other major brokers, often you can find what you are looking for at one of them.
