Our family will be visiting the Wilderness Lodge Villas next week for my husband's 40th birthday. Any suggestions on ways to celebrate at the Wilderness Lodge? He thinks he's getting away to avoid embarressing birthday parties, etc. I'd love to surprise him with something.

Did you tell them it was his birthday when you made your reservation?

Mention it when you check in. Maybe you'll be upgraded.

The best advice is to not expect anything and you won't be dissappointed.

You may luck out. Mention it when you eat at WDW.

If you want to make sure something special is done then you should probably contact a florist or something to have something in your room when you arrive.

I've heard great stories about special things that occuring for people's birthdays and I've heard stories where nothing occured and they were somewhat dissappointed.

....make ressies at WC and try to get Jeffro as your server. Then, DEFINITELY tell him (Jeffro) it is your DH's b'day!! Think he's getting away from an embarrassing B'day party....NOT!!!!;)

Last November we mentioned that we were celebrating my birthday. Not only did we get an upgrade, but the next evening we were surprised to find a beautiful chocolate cake in our room. They had placed a tablecloth on the bed and had plates, candles and forks available.

...my wife planned breakfast at 1900 Park Fare.

It was a surprise -- and how!

They put a b'day hat on me, gave me balloons, brought a cupcake and candle to my table, gave me a b'day card -- SIGNED BY MARY POPPINS!! -- and got all the characters, and everyone in the whole damn room, to SING to me.

It was the most embarassing, and delightful, birthday I can remember. :p

First - congratulations!! If you've never been to WL before - you'll love it. The resort is beautiful and has so many great details!! Some words of wisdom on the birthday - we stayed at the Poly in 99 for my b-day and got a cake, balloons, card, mickey candle, and b-day pin on our first night. It was a fabulous surprise and made me feel like a queen. From what I've read on the boards - this seems to be typical of what the Poly does (if it does anything). Last Dec at the WL we had my niece's b-day and my husbands - my niece got a card and balloon and my husband got nothing. Again, I've read other people had similar experiences at WL - but not always. It is a true hit or miss at all resorts. I agree with the other posters though that if you make a PS and tell them in advance it's for a birthday - they will almost always do something really special. For my niece we went to 1900 park fare and she loved having pooh bring her a birthday cupcake with candle and confetti!! Have fun no matter what!! :p

How about if its kind-of your birthday. What if you missed your birthday by 1 1/2 weeks and that you'll NEVER get to the World right on your birthday due to work?
