Brochure says manufactured home. We have stayed at OKW, 1 bedroom villa. Would we be disappointed in the cabin? Fort Wilderness looks like a lot of fun.

Originally, FW had manufactured homes (trailers). Now they have converted them to manufactured homes which look like cabins.

Honestly, I think you would be disappointed going from a 1 bedroom villa at OKW to FW. The cabins are very small in comparision to OKW. You will not have the huge master bedroom with a king bed, you will have a double w/ a set of bunk beds in the room. You will not have the huge bathroom, washer and dryer.

Just my opinion, anyone else?

The WH at FW are nice but not comparable to the villas. As the previous post stated they do look like log cabins. Inside you will find a full kitchen, living room with murphy bed, standard bath (no jucuzzi) and a bedroom with a double bed and bunk beds. They have a wonderful deck off the front door where you can sit outside and people watch or bbq. Saying that I think FW is the most relaxing resort at WDW. Peace and quiet and you feel like you have escaped the hustle and bustle of the theme park. FW also has lots of activities, Biking, Free campfire movie w/Chip & dale, horseback riding, petting farm and Hoop de doo. You might want to talk with members on the camping section of the board and you might want to go to www.disneyzone.actusa.net in the resort tour section. I dont believe they have the new pictures of the WH up but it will give you a great description.

We have stayed in both and I honestly think you would be disappointed with the cabins after staying in a 1 bedroom villa.

It's definitely "roughing it" in my opinion. MUCH different than a one bedroom villa! LOL ;) Basically it's just a mobile home with wood siding nailed on the outside of it. Definitely not my cup of tea. We did it once for a family reunion... we had 4 cabins. What an experience! ;)

As Grumpy92 said the atmosphere at FW is wonderful. The cabins do not have the floor space of a 1 bedroom, but sometimes they are a good option. Last Christmas, we had one at a great AP rate, and with five in the family it's better than the 4 person occupancy for the 1 bedrooms in the DVC.
