Really sorry to hear about your loss, Carrie... I know what your going through and it gets easier with time....the pain starts going away but the good memories stick around. I guess life is funny that way.

Carrie: so sorry to hear about your dog.... :grouphug: its very hard letting them go. But like Bill said, the good memories stay and the pain goes away, a day at a time.

Well I made it throuh today without too much trouble. I even got a lot of work done. It's so hard trying to catch up. Patients just dont want to hear you were on vacation and their referral wasnt processed..... :confused3

Well, I spoke to Wally and I dont think I will be able to convience him to go next November. Well at least I have November of 08 to look forward to.. :goodvibes So have a great time on your reunion cruise. I may come over to your new sight and post over there also.

Well have a good evening all

Wendy

Wouldn't it be great if life was like the Disney Magic every day......

LYNN...sorry for your loss....may God bless you and your family.... :grouphug:

CARRIE....I don't know if you are aware of my families tragedy. On July 4th, 2004 we had a house fire that by the luck of God my wife and daughter and I luckily survived. By rights, we should have died. We were very lucky that our neighbor heard the fire through the roof, and luckily saved our lives. Unfortunately, we lost our 2 dogs and 3 of our 4 cats. We lived in a hotel for just over 10 months and just before we moved back into our home we adopted a beautiful black lab. He was the sweetest dog and a gift. About 4 months after we moved back home, he started losing his energy, did not really want to eat. We went through many tests, spending thousands of dollars and could not find out what was wrong. Finally, we took him to a specialist and they discovered a tumor that had consumed his liver. He was going downhill and we decided to do the right thing for MICKEY and put him down. MICKEY however had other plans. We were at the vet, waiting in the waiting room to do the humane thing and MICKEY passed away in my daughters arms...needless to say, we were through a lot and questioned why things happened as they did....and we hurt horribly sometimes, but believe our beloved pets are in a better place and totally still in our hearts. I feel your pain, and promise you it gets better....just hurts real bad now..... :grouphug: to you and your family!

It was a pleasure meeting so many of you on the cruise....we rebooked for December 1, 2007...so we will miss the reunion by 1 week....but I turn 55 on December 2nd so I just had to spend it on the MAGIC!

:grouphug: to all you special people.....God bless you all!

i just wanted to let you know that this board is great! so many hardships have happened to the people on this board and i find it amazing that so many people are able to console others in their losses. to all of us- thank you and you have nanas looking out for you......

on another note, i went to the docs today as i had stepped on a cactus thing on serenity bay and still had prickles in my foot that were bothering me. well 11 to be exact had to be taken out. dave is keeping them in as a cheap souvenier i guess, im trying to convince him to get them out. next time nanas, wear water shoes!

no vacum cleaners on the board today? whats up with that?

morning everyone,
Renee, gla dyou got those needles out, they can cause a nasty infection if not removed.

Tom, glad to hear you all made it home safely.

Well I didnt get to see the launch since they cancelled it last night. I hope it will go up this weekend. I love night launches because they look like a big ball of fire in the sky.

well got to go and hopefully finish my Christmas shopping.
Hope everyone has a great Friday,

kathy

Good morning Nanas!!

Carrie -- so sorry to hear about your loss. :grouphug: We dealt with that about 4 years ago. Our beagle Benny lost her 8-9 month fight against cancer. I must admit there was a huge burden lifted of my shoulders, but I still really miss her. Oh, and have you thought about moving that 4/08 cruise date up to 11/24/07? Then you don't have to wait so long. :thumbsup2

Bill -- so did you actually TiVo that thing about Christmas Story?? It was kind of cute -- makes me want to go buy a leg lamp! :rotfl2:

Shell -- apparently my Bill sent you a bunch of pictures. . .that's all I know! :confused3 Oh -- and I made the pork chop recipe yesterday -- YUM! What "kind" of pork chops do you usually use? Thick, thin, boneless???

Renee -- glad to hear your foot will be on the mend! Great souveneir, huh? You can put them in a jar with sand and set them out on display! :lmao:

Wendy -- We'll need to be nice to Bob so he'll re-book for the 11/24/07 cruise. Jessalyn even called him Tiara Bob any time she saw him! :rotfl: BTW, why aren't you booked for that cruise yet????

Lauri -- I didn't get a chance to personally meet Doug, but if his personality is anything like yours, I can totally picture him as an uptight, attorney-type. Not! :lmao: :lmao:

Lynn -- glad to hear all is o.k., all things considered. :grouphug:

Kathy, Linda, Denise, Carrie (and anyone else) -- hope you get over your colds quickly.

Have a good day!

Cheri

Cheri, with Austin starting High School next year we will not be able to let him miss the week of school. I did kind of put in Mike's head about going on an adult only trip so we will see...

Carrie, so sorry about your doggie :grouphug:

Lynn, how are you and your mom doing?

Renee, glad your foot is better :cool1:

Shell, I am making your pork chop recipe today.

As I mentioned to Tonya (who also has DS's schooling to worry about), maybe the high school there encourages kids to miss school to be with family!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Adults-only cruise could be pretty fun. :cool1: I'll ship DD to Ohio (since we had some offers) then they can be the ones to try to haul her off to the kids' group while the adults get to go out. I have a feeling "Aunt Shell" & "uncle Bill" could be more convincing than Mom & Dad! :rotfl2: :rotfl2: It just might work. . . :cheer2:

Perhaps Shell can compile a cookbook for us Nanas . . . :stir:

Wendy....oh, Wendy....of course I miss you. At least we have that summer thing going for us <wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say-na-more. say-na-more...> ;) . Shell doesn't uh...ride the coaster. I sure hope you do. I hate doing it alone. (family board, kids....quit thinkin what you're thinkin).

Wow, did we get a lovely lake effect storm. Again, I have to commend ODOT for keeping the commutes tolerable and the roads free of snow.

Tonight my wife comes back to me!!! Woohoo. I'm not sure who this Al Backkerkey is but apparently I have that magic that keeps Woo with me and not him.

Have a good day folks....

Cheri - I wish this school was like this. They are heavy on homework and personal responsibility. You never know. The cruise is a long way off and Im sure that there will be plenty of time to figure it out. Keep your fingers crossed.

Bill -
Even though your football team stinks worse than ours, at least your road crews know what they are doing. We got a stinkin' three inches of snow and as usual it caught PennDot by surprise. Don't they watch the same panicked weather stations we do? The snow started mid morning and continued lightly throughout the day. But yesterday's rush hour was a nightmare. Now, I work from home so it's no biggie for me..but Mina went into the office and it took her forever to get home - and for no good reason. The carpool lanes were closed because PennDot left them untreated all day. *SIGH* and I wonder why I hate winter so much. Today, it's something like 15 degrees with wind chill in the minus 3 range. Last week at this time, I getting ready to board a banana boat with Miss Elizabeth. Disney, Take Me Away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the hugs and well wishes everyone. I'm starting to feel a bit better today, both in my head and my heart. I feel like I've been in a fog since I woke up Monday morning. Things seem to be clearing up today. Of course, it so cold that I can't do anthing but stay home and do laundry. I am feeling really bad about not getting to more of the get togethers. I was just enjoying the time with my family so much I couldn't pull myself away.

I did buy tickets to the martini tasting. I was really looking forward to it. On the day she told us to go, I pulled out the tickets and realized they were for the tequilla and margaritta. I'd never tried either before so it was kind of fun. And since I almost never drink I was very wobbley afterward. But I will have to hit the martini one next time.

Linda, I'm so sorry about your map. What a great souvenier that was. I know I would be heartbroken. I need to hurry up and get my house cleaned and decorated for Christmas so I can start scrapbooking this trip.

We were also at the Magic Kingdom on Saturday and it was so busy. We rode Prirates, Haunted Mansion, Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, and Buzz then left. My 13 yo old was really excited when she heard High School Musical was there but I was not about to maneuver through the crowds to try and see them. I was kind of disappointed in the activities available on the ship for 13/14 year olds. I thought she would be able to enjoy the Ocean Quest but every time she tried to go, it was only open to 10-12 year olds. She just didn't want to go into that group. She ended up making a couple of friends and had fun. But it would have been nice if they had more for the tweens.

I would love to move our trip to Nov 07, but Kevin needs to save up some vacation time. Since he just started this job, he had to take unpaid time off. So this vacation cost us a lot more than we paid. This company is very stingy with vacation time so he will need year to earn enough to go. I'm sure he will need to take a day off somewhere so I think 1 1/2 years is the soonest we could go. We may push to Nov 08 once those days come out, but would like to try a spring vacation. He's not happy with this job so he's got his eyes open for another. If he ends up changing, we'll need time to get vacation with the new company.

Sorry for rambling, I should go work on that laundry.

Good Afternoon    ,
Well it is sooooooooo cold here in NY today. The wind is making the wind chill in the negative digits. Well I just called my Mom and actually she went to work today and is trying to move on. She is hurting still but trying to be strong for us. Thank you all for being there for me and my family through a very difficult time. You truly are a great   family!!!
Well I am staying in today and cleaning up and finish wrapping Andrew's Crhistmas gifts. Well this weekend we are busy. Tomorrow we are meeting with a contractor to possibly pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: build a house. Then we are taking Drew to the Mall ( my home away from home) to see Santa for the 1st time and Andrew has to start Christmas shopping for me and I have to get 2 giftcards. Sunday we are going to make Christmas Cookies. What is everybody's plans for the weekend. Well Drew just fall asleep so I am going to get things done!!! Talk to you all later   !!

Time for me to start Christmas shopping for Mina this weekend and an attempt to take the girls out to get their presents for mom. Also we are determined to get a picture in front of our tree for our Christmas cards. I have a feeling we'll be mailing our cards on New Year's weekend.

We watched the video we took on the cruise last night. I am burning it to a DVD while I'm working today - trying to multitask.

We have an annual adults-only Christmas party for our friends and neighbors and it's next weekend (yikes). We've done nothing to prepare and have little time this weekend to get around to it. Still have to finish decorating the house as well and get hte boxes up to the attic. I may have to take the rest of today off to try to get started on all this stuff!

Wendy, it does kind of make the day a little more enjoyable....I mean a little more sedate....I mean I really miss the attention you ladies gave me. Yeah, that's it! :rotfl2:

I finally got around to starting my trip report so I started a thread on the TR board for those interested in following along this time.
