I've read about these wick dry socks and am wondering where I can get them. Has anybody tried them & are they worth it? Which stores carry them? & any special brand you would recommend? Thanks!:D

I've found these, usually called "liner socks" at sporting goods and outdoors stores, like REI, Sportsmart, etc. They can be crew length, or the real shorties.

Try http://www.rei-outlet.com on the web.

Also, other socks that are made with CoolMax will work nicely.

Then, of course, there are Thorlo socks.

All these options can be a bit costly, compared to regular socks, but you can often find them on sale or clearance, if you look hard and long enough.

You can also try a sock called "Smart Wool" you can get it at a Redwing dealer as well as rei I believe. I bought DH a pair about 2 months ago and he swears by them. He has THE sweatiest feet!!! Not a problem anymore!!! I do agree that they are spendy. Around $15 a pair but well worth it in my book. I've also seen these socks on ebay for around $9. One thing I do have to add is don't be turned off by them because they are wool socks. They aren't like the wool socks of the old days that are real thick and scratchy. Theses are as thin AND as soft as cotton socks. Ok, they're about as thick as 1 1/2 pairs of cotton socks on if you can imagine that. ;) I highly recommend them. Good luck to you.

Cool Max socks should be available at any sporting type store, REI or Galyans for example. They also carry them at some shoe stores, The Walking Company has them. Oddly enough I found little girls cool max socks at K-Mart last week. I couldn't find them for boys, and I did not look for adults, but it might be worth a try.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions on the socks. I will check at some sporting stores for them. Sounds like they work pretty good!;)
