This is not meant to bash the bus system because they have a difficult job and are effected by many factors.
Frequently I have waited on a bus to one park and 2-3 buses for another park come by (waiting on MK and 2-3 EPCOT buses come by).

Question- Have you ever left the resort without a specific plan and just got on the first park bus that came by? If so, how did that work out for you?

I will just wait for the bus since we plan out our meals with reservations ahead of time.

We've done it a few times and it was fine, it even felt a little like an adventure. :-)

Some times an adventure is fun! We'll do that on an off day. Get on a bus and go. When we get off that bus, we explore where we are and then get on another bus...... it can be fun! We love to check out resorts and gift shops........ even though the gift shops have basically the same stuff, it's still cool.....

We do it alot... We're on vacation, no set in stone plan, no ADR's so whatever pulls into the bus stop, we hop on and enjoy ( except the AK bus, we don't visit that park )... We like the freedom of no schedules!!

We'll usually narrow it down to two parks and then hop on the bus for whichever one arrives first. It works fine. The real trouble starts when busses for both parks arrive one behind the other. What to do, what to do . . .

I usually don't have an issue with bus waits. But there have been times that we just hop on the next arriving bus. And that can be fun.

Thats the only way we do it. Very very loose schedules and only real specifics are were we start and any reservations we have.

I have experienced that three times in two trips, and oddly enough each time it was trying to get from our resort to Magic Kingdom. Never had the problem trying to get to any of the other 3 parks. We literally watched two busses come for each of the other ones including the water parks and Downtown Disney. I would have gotten on one of the Epcot busses, but two of the three times we had dining reservations that day and the other it was the first day of our first trip and my daughter only wanted to go to where she could see the castle.

Many times we have been waiting for an EPCOT bus but took a MK bus then rode the monorail over/ and vice versa. It takes longer but to us the monorail is a park ride.

That sounds so fun. Unfortunately I'm one of those who lives by the ADR's. Maybe I can break that addiction one of these days.
