Why would you only add on 25 points at BLT?

Yes, you need enough points for the entire reservation to book at 11 months. Adding on 25 points does not get you much.

I would guess they are going to bank and borrow to get a few nights, yes 25pts will get them at least one night depending on when and what size unit. Maybe add on 25 pts here and there while money is available. Plus low MF's and pts are pts at 7 months out, doesn't matter where you own.

It's not much, but enough to get you 75 with banking and borrowing. This is in addition to whatever number of points they currently have of course.

The times of year we want to go it is only 12pt & 14 pt/night for a studio. So with banking and borrowing we could stay Sun-Thurs. every other year

25 point purchases also give you flexibility down the road with regards to selling of points as your needs change. Four 25 point contracts can be sold one 25 point contract at a time as point needs change.

Remember, there is no restriction that the add-on has to be 25 points. It can be 26, 31, 29, etc, etc. Figure out how many points you will need for every other or every third year ressies, and determine the exact number that way. That's how we ended up with such a strange number of AKV points (69).

I met someone that did the 25 points but plans to add 25 every year for 4 years. And they would hit the resort every 3 years while staying at OKW every 2 years i think is what he said.

i think you're supposed to stick with your guide. you can call the main sales number and ask, i suppose...

When we did our add-on on 12/31, our guide was off. We explained the situation to the operator/CM at the main desk and another guide was able to help us. Our points were in the system the next day.

yes, this is true.

yeah, this is not ideal. if you have to cancel after the end of october, using or renting your points will be a challenge.

you might be better off looking at resales with a later UY month. (but if you never have to cancel, it'll never be an issue...and having multiple contracts with different UY months presents its own set of challenges.)
