Why was The Santa Clause such a hit family comedy for Disney?

When The Santa Clause was released to theaters in the 90's people never knew how hyped a hit it would become and i'm amazed how The Santa Clause even became a top holiday movie because when you put Tim Allen in any movie he makes it a comedy hit. How did The Santa Clause become such a holiday hit? Because little did we know that based on the hype of The Santa Clause two sequels would follow and the holiday sitcom The Santa Clauses aired on Disney+. I think The Santa Clause was destined to be a holiday hit because it's a classic feel-good holiday family movie everyone likes

Home Improvement with Tim Allen was super popular back when it was on. Plus it was a family friendly Christmas movie. You also don’t have options that you have today- no multiple streaming channels, 4K giant tvs at home, YouTube, realistic video games etc.
