Why is Rock N' Rollercoaster Closed?

I noticed on the wait times app for my iphone it says that RNR is closed, does anyone know why or when it will reopen?

Word last year was the deal was set to expire @ the end of June '09, so I assume it was extended since it was still themed for Aerosmith when I was there in March.

It has been "rumored" that Disney has NOT extended it's contract with Aerosmith.

One rumor, they are planning on a more Radio Disney-music route for the attraction. Plus, they own the rights to the music FOREVER!!!! The rumor has been Miley Cyrus and/or The Jonas Brothers on a rotating basis. Which honestly doesn't make sense to me. Because next year is the last year of taping The Hannah Montana Show. However, this is from the braniacs that came up with American Idol Experience on the downslope of American Idol. Timing is everything people!!!!!

Another rumor, is that is will be re-themed for The Muppets band, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. That is the band that has Animal as the drummer. Again, just a rumor.

But, it does sound like Aerosmith will be out "sometime" in 2010.

The only thing about that whole rumor you mentioned that I like is the Muppets. I could go for that. But anything else, nope. Actually, the ride is great with Aerosmith and really should remain with them.

If we're talking rumors, we should start with the rumor that the contract only ran until 2009 - I don't think that was ever substantiated to begin with, but was under the assumption a nice round number like "10" was used for the length of the contract.

As MUCH as I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Jonas Brothers..... that'd ruin the ride for me, it just wouldn't be right, and tapings for the last season of Hannah Montana just wrapped, but it'll still be airing new episodes in 2011, so thats still plenty of time. I wouldn't mind the muppets but Disney please keep it ROCK 'n Rollercoaster and not POP'n Rollercoaster...

As long as it is open for next week I will be happy every year we go we get the poster of me & my kids on the ride it is great to see how the kids have grown over the years...this is the only ride photo we buy every year
