I am sorry, but I think this is ridiculous. I have a thread that I post on frequently that is referred to as a clique. It isn't. In fact, we are always asking more people to join in and just be silly with us. I have posted a couple of times on other "clique" threads and have been equally welcome. If you are bothered by a clique thread why not just jump in and chat with them instead of complaining about the?

The clique threads don't bother me in and of themselves. (And thanks for the invite, but I'm not that chatty even in real life, much less in forums!)

But when the same group of people start taking over other threads, or create threads that masquerade as serious threads, that's really irritating.

I've seen several threads lately with intriguing titles, only to click on them and realize it's just another nonsense clique thread. That's so irritating!

Seriously, its a public board and it gets my tinsel twisted wondering why so many people here have made their own cardboard and foil badge and feel they have the right to poice the entire place...topics, siggies, avatars, repeat topics...you name it. Go take a chill pill and just enjoy the company and stay away from things that make you upset. You'll probably add a few years to your life.

Ok, I read the thread in question (tx Cardaway) and I really don't see it as harmful or malicious. Some people have a weird sense of humor. Some people get bored by seeing the same old posts day in and day out. Unless someone directly and intentionally tries to hurt someone or slams someone, I don't see the harm in it. It's actually fun to see how creative some dissers can be.

JMHO though.

It seemed a tad malicious to me, based on what I had read in the orginal thread that they were mocking. And also the wording on the poll.

It never once mentions the words 'serious threads only.' I usually pick the threads I click on by the title and the OP.

Believe it or not, there are certain pic. threads I don't bother with, and certain polls I don't take based on the OPs. My life is a little less stressed because of it.

Actually not all clique threads are welcoming. There have been several I've read where people have been ignored. I'm not saying all of the posters on that thread are snubbing - there are some very nice people that belong to cliques that I enjoy posting with a lot.

I just think the threads in question are only obviously joke threads to the friends of the OP and maybe a couple other people. The rest are either clueless, shake their heads, or roll their eyes.

See I think this is the problem right there with the threads in question. If you don't agree with the jabber then you have no humor and want serious threads all of the time. You can like funny threads, have a sense of humor, and think clique threads designed to show how cool you are for making fun of another thread are lame. Some people don't seem to get that.

I've noticed that many of those who tend to do that are also quick to call newbies "trolls" and quickly roll out the inside jokes and rally their troops.
