I guess I'm kind of a research snob, but while the 50 links posted above appear impressive, 36 of them are are from far left political blogs (huffington post, carpetbagger, think progress, media matters), a couple are from network news blogs (as in opinion), and then of course there's The New York Times (terribly biased in this election cycle). And Vanity Fair? Really? Are you kidding?

Sorry, you get an A for effort (all that cutting and pasting must have been exhausting), but an E for using really poor sources in your research and trying to pull a fast one on your reader. Nice try, though. Like I said, it looked impressive.

My RL Republican friends like to play the "Fret over Obama" game as well. "Obama might do this", "Obama might not do that"

All I do is point out what Bush and the Republicans have done.

We had a balanced budget when Bush and the Republican Congress came in to power - Remember the Republicans "SAY" that they are for cutting spending - but they went on a wild spending spree - ear marks (that means pork barrel spending) have grown to record levels. We went from balanced budget to huge deficits and this is not because of the alleged "War on Terror" this is one spending program after another pushed through by those "fiscally conservative" Republicans. And even with all this spending we don't have much to show for it.

Then we got into a war in Iran with no good reason. The best you can say is that the intelligence was flawed, or as many believe, Bush outright lied to drag us into a war that has cost billions and billions and dollars and costs thousands of American lives and really has made us no safer. Again, huge cost, little to show for it.

I was a Republican all my life (and I'm 52), four years ago I got fed up and left the party. The Republican party today, is NOT the Repulibcan party of the Reagan years. The Republican party talks a lot, loves to vilify Democrats, but they are just driving this country towards bankruptcy.

I don't agree with everything that the Democrats stand for, but I find I agree with more and more of it every year. At least the Democrats are fiscally responsible enough to try to pay for any spending that they propose. The Republicans just spend and spend and spend and then have a fit when the Democrats suggest we raise taxes to pay for Republican spending.

I don't fret over what Obama may do, no, I fret over what Bush and the Republicans have done.

If you can show a clear distinction between the fiscal voting records of both parties over the last 8 years which demonstrates that the Republicans alone voted for all of the (non-discretionary) spending increases/programs and not a single Democrat voted for any increases or proposed new spending, or better yet, proposed cuts and decreased taxes, I promise I'll vote for Obama.
