Why I love my DVC.

Just back from a great 8 day trip.

We checked in at 7:00 am on check-in day. We always stay off site the night before and then check in as early as possible and hit the parks till our room is ready. (OKW-2BR). Well, we had still not heard anything by 3:30 so we just went on back to the resort thinking it would not be much longer. Well long story short, we did not get into our room until almost 6:00. I was tired and frustrated, but I never got angry or complained because we have checked in before 4:00 many more times than after 4:00, so I figured we were still ahead of the game. Then the manager came over and apologized repeatedly and comped our entire party (8 people) a meal at the Disney restaurant of our choice. As I said, I was not angry or complaining, it was just an unexpected treat. Great way to start the week.

That was nice of both of you. Probably either a late check out or room was trashed.

We ate at Whispering Canyon at WL. We already had our reservations there for the next day, so it worked out perfectly. Not a bad trade at all for a couple of hours of inconvenience.

We do ALMOST the same thing.

Rather than stay offsite (never done that) the night before check-in, we rent points from a DISer & stay in a studio for practically nothing. I can usually get the points for $9.00-$10.00/point.
 
That is so awesome! Disney really knows customer service. I remember one time eating at Olivia's at OKW and the server apologizing to us since our food was taking too long (which we didn't even notice or complain about). They said that we could have dessert on the house. But since we weren't that hungry, we said it was alright. But they ended up comping one of our meals!

They love keeping their customers happy. :)
 
A nice end to a situation, one of the stories you like to hear about.
 
It is nice to hear this.. The last couple of times we visitied I ran into not so nice CMs so hearing that gives me faith that there are still some great employees out there! Thanks!
