Why I LOVE JetBlue

Never have I had such negativity in a thread. In the future I will refrain from posting without 100% knowledge on a topic. Please forgive my ignorance.
Negativity? Where? :confused3 Many people read these threads. We try to educate everyone and put out as much information as possible. Just as you were simply pointing out your experience, I was simply pointing out the free schedule change is not unusual.

No one criticized you for not knowing that.

The OP is, I'm going to assume, feeling negativity simply because so many came along to point out, repeatedly, that JB isn't alone in allowing free changes when they change flight times. Then you all came along to point put that if you're a rewards member of an airline, you get free bags. Or if you have their credit card.
Geez guys. It all did come across as negative. The OP merely wanted to share what he/she thought to be their good fortune. Yes, other airlines will allow you to make changes, free, if they change flight times. And yes, other airlines give you free bags. But most people aren't going to be reward members of more than one airline..or have multiple airline credit cards.

I agree with OP wholeheartedly. JetBlue is the only airline I've flown (and I've flown many) that has delivered consistently good customer service to me.

They cheerfully credit the difference if the cost of your flight drops after purchase, they allow a free bag to everyone (not just those who pay to use their credit card), and their Amex offers great benefits.

In my experience, they have always run mostly on time with the exception of severe weather delays, their gate/information desk/phone agents are eager to please, their flight attendants are eager to assist the passengers, and they always do whatever they can to make both make your flying experience a good one and to fix any bumps you encounter.

This is a far cry from what I've experienced on many other carriers and the exact opposite of what I experienced with Delta, which brought me the worst airline experiences of my life. I will gladly pay more to fly JetBlue - they have proven to me that they value my business.

Sorry tink, I even went back and read the thread again and I didn't see anything as "negative" (until AFTER the OP said there was too much negativity). Of course multiple people (in this case three) pointed out other airlines do the same thing. If someone posted "I'm only flying SW because they fly into MCO", do you expect only one person to say "Other airlines do too?"

You are right most people aren't reward members or have multiple airline credit cards, but I still feel it's worth pointing out you CAN get free checked bags on "legacy" airlines.

It's a question of 'perception'. Was there 'true' negativity'? No, not really. But I can understand why the OP felt the way they did. Just pointing that out.

I have to agree with MartDM....I have had the most consistently good service with JB. I refuse to fly Delta unless I absolutely have to. Too few direct routes to my usual destinations, bag fees, and you can count on them making substantial flight time changes. Sure, you can change without a fee, but there are times that I want the flight I booked...I booked it for a reason.

OP, I am glad you were able to switch your flight!

JetBlue is by far my favorite airline. I have *touch wood* not had any major issues. Earlier this year we were on a flight that had to deplane and we were put on another plane barely an hour later, they put out some drinks & snacks and gave us each a credit for a future flight.

I agree and can see the OP's point of view here.

If this conversation took place in person and I was sharing something I just learned and was excited about, graciously accepted the 1st and 2nd clarification and someone still needed to point out that my excitement isn't really warranted, I would say "I get it. Forget I said anything" also. I'm not that sensitive but I would be annoyed at that point.

Just in case anyone is interested, you can check your airline's on time statistics here:

http://www.transtats.bts.gov/HomeDrillChart.asp?URL_SelectMonth=9&URL_SelectYear=2013

So far, in 2013, JetBlue's on time arrival percentage is 73.25 and the percentage of delayed flights is 25.61.

Let me add my 'I love JB' story. I was booked on the 12:10 flight to MCO from Boston, with a 2 hr layover at JFK. I found out that friends were flying to mco on the 11:10 flight, direct no less. So I got to Logan by 9:30 and asked if there was any availability on the 11:10 flight I was told tat yes, I could most likely get on that flight, so I did standby. Well....I arrived at the gate around 9:50 and found my friends. They were thrilled I was on their flight but told me the flight was delayed 20 mins. Ok, no biggie. Well, about 20 mins later, they tell us they need to bring in a new plane, so we won't get out until 12:30 or so! I went to the counter and asked the gate attendants what my chances of getting on that flight were.....told them I didn't mind waiting, but if they told me at 12:00 I wouldn't get on the flight, I would be too late to get my original flight, a d didn't want to wait for a later flight. She asked me where my friends were sitting, I told her, and she put me in the same row!!
Shortly after that, we were told it was going to be much longer, and try brought out bottles of water and bags of snacks! It was almost fun! We finally departed at 1:30ish. I got to WDW about an hour earlier than I would have originally, but 3 hrs later than my new flight should have gotten me there.
I got an email telling me I had a $50 credit from JB.....before we even left the airport.
All in all, I routinely have very good experiences with JB. We'll see how they do in Worcester! Fingers crossed they continue to provide good service.

Great story!!!:). Count me in as a JETBLUE fan!!!:cool1:

I love JB too! They make travel with food allergies painless. My last flight with delta left us extremely frustrated, and US Airways just plain sucks.

Their customer service has always been excellent. We are using them for our trip to disney in Jan/Feb.

{Sidestepping around the question of negativity :rolleyes2}
Thankies. I never knew about being able to reschedule if THEY change my flight. I figured it was part of the 'painfulness of flying.'
Glad this thread was started :) !

I have not flown on Jet Blue yet but so far, I 've gotten good customer service. I have not flown since 1999 but booked a short notice trip for the weekend after Thanksgiving. The price was $839/2 seats, it killed me to pay that but figured we had to get there when we had to get there. The price dropped a couple of days later, they gave us a credit of over $500 toward future travel.

I've done that too. Most every trips I've used travel bank money to pay for part of our trip. This time that's not happening but it's okay :)
