Chuck S said:Actually, I'm wondering if perhaps the OP is referring to the model "City of the Future" section of the ride. This model city was orinally part of the post show when COP was at Disneyland. It was housed on the second floor of the building, you exited COP by walking onto the final stage area and boarding a speedramp to view the show.
The model city hasn't been "updated" since at least the late 1960s when it was at Disneyland, and in fact, many of the "moving" parts of the model never worked at WDW. At DL the small trains actually ran on their tracks.
Absolutely true.
I saw it many times as a kid at DL.
It was a wonderful operating model with realistic miniatures.
I have the complete audio track (music and narration) that ran as guests exited CoP and then viewed the "City of Tomorrow." It was the voices of same husband and wife as we saw in the CoP vignettes.
There was a panning projection of a departing jet airliner that ran across the back wall, the amusement park rides were in motion ("Its no Disneyland, but its a lot of fun...") and many other of the little items were lighted and moving.
