Why has WDW never updated the TTA ride?

Actually, I'm wondering if perhaps the OP is referring to the model "City of the Future" section of the ride. This model city was orinally part of the post show when COP was at Disneyland. It was housed on the second floor of the building, you exited COP by walking onto the final stage area and boarding a speedramp to view the show.

The model city hasn't been "updated" since at least the late 1960s when it was at Disneyland, and in fact, many of the "moving" parts of the model never worked at WDW. At DL the small trains actually ran on their tracks.

Absolutely true.

I saw it many times as a kid at DL.
It was a wonderful operating model with realistic miniatures.
I have the complete audio track (music and narration) that ran as guests exited CoP and then viewed the "City of Tomorrow." It was the voices of same husband and wife as we saw in the CoP vignettes.

There was a panning projection of a departing jet airliner that ran across the back wall, the amusement park rides were in motion ("Its no Disneyland, but its a lot of fun...") and many other of the little items were lighted and moving.

But one question -- what the heck is a Rocket Rod???

The Rocket Rods were a short-lived attraction on Disneyland's Peoplemover track. The ride only lasted a couple of years and then shut down. The track is abandoned, and the queue, which took up the Circlevision theatre and then some, is now Buzz Lightyear's Astro Blasters.

this is a great ride to run for when space mountain is closed when it breaks down, it lets you see inside with the lights on. I wasnt even thinking of this duh when we were there in Sept. and it was closed until about 20 minutes later and we ended up running to it to make sure we could see inside. wouldn't ya know it, we were inside and we got to see the lift hills lit up and then we were coming up to the open area and boom the lights went back out again. bummer! LOL

People Mover or TTA its good because no one goes on it. My favorite napping place at MK!!!

Ahhhh yes - Wedway People Mover - forever will be that to us :thumbsup2 Our DD (who is now 28 and has a 4 yr old DD) has always found this to be her favorite. We have video of her on it as a little girl. Just like going on COP- I saw it as a child at DL, it brings back such fond memories.

Ride the TTA.

Click below for a rather HIGH SPEED trip around Tomorrowland.
I made this earlier this year.

It shall always be the Peoplemover for us as well. :thumbsup2 Practically perfect in every way except I agree with von Pluto about the accessibility issues.
