If someone invades my home with the thought and purpose of doing me harm? Of course. If someone is coming into my home with the express purpose of taking my gun or any other object from my harm. No I wouldn't respond violently. I can always buy another.
That said Nobody was talking about taking your rights away, barring an invasion from some type of armed forces, no one is going to come directly into our home or country to take your rights away. (In which case we have way bigger problems then the 2nd Amendment).
Short of that the only way to take away that right (Which I have stated in other posts I don't think should happen) is to vote on it. So what are you going to stand outside the voting polls and shoot anyone you suspect is going to attempt to vote down the 2nd amendment?
My remark wasn't towards your right to bear arms, but more for the flippant way you imply violence with that gun you seem to love so much.

Why? Why is it a problem that an American says they will fight for their rights? You wouldn't fight for your rights? You would just hand them over?
I am not afraid to state that I absolutely would fight for my rights, with violence if necessary. That does not mean I am a homicidal maniac or that I would harm an innocent person. Or that I am bloodthirsty. I would die for my country, I would die for my rights. I would use a gun, a hammer, my hands if need be. This isn't a new American concept. And it's certainly not an exclusively American sentiment.
Your kind of thinking that makes some of us folks feel that our rights need protection now more than ever. It scares the hell out of me that so many would hand over their rights without a fight.

I don't have to read the thread to believe you, either.
