Why don't we make this trip report about 2012 & 2013.

This is what I did get accomplished over the weekend.

Love those Mickeys! I just love the contrast of the white/black/red of the Mickey's against the light blue fabric! Can't wait to see the skirt!

While in Joann's on Saturday a woman also looking at patterns was telling us that she heard about a new fabric shop going to open up in the town of Hingham in a few weeks...:banana::banana:

Ooooo....WHERE in Hingham?

How did you parents like Peru? When I was in high school my best friend was an exchange student to Peru. She died in a plane crash there a couple days before they were due to come home, and a trip to Peru has always been in the back of my head. Our AAA has a trip there in April and I thought about contacting her sister (whom I haven't seen for years) to see if she's been or has ever wanted to go. I snore big time (or so I've been told) so I actually hate to foist myself off an onyone as a roommate. Peru's not on my bucket list, but on my list of "when that unexpected check comes".

My parents did not LOVE Peru they thought it was nice but some of the food was weird. They also said it was a hard trip with lots of walking and climbing at high altitudes. They are glad they went, they also said it was a younger persons trip.

Can't wait to see the completed Mickey Head Skirt...love the different faces.

Like the fabric you bought...Jealous that you found fabric at a Walmart...all the ones in our area stopped selling fabric. The one closest to me that did sell fabric and was just over the border into RI closed/moved to Lincoln, RI which is a drive (no easy way of getting there). While in Joann's on Saturday a woman also looking at patterns was telling us that she heard about a new fabric shop going to open up in the town of Hingham in a few weeks...:banana::banana:

EIGHT people...you brave soul. What is that saying "The more the merrier":)

Sheila

Thanks Sheila. We are excited and I was happy to get all that fabric in Walmart. I loved seing it. Especially since I only have one Joanns and one Walmart near where i live.

I totally love the Mickey face skirt!!! How adorable!! And I love all of the fabrics - I can't wait to see the nerds skirt - that will be cool!

Your family pic is awesome - it's so neat that you all can go together. I know it's hard traveling with family sometimes, but I think it would be fun to go to Disney with family. :)

D~

I am loving this skirt I am hoping to have it done by tomorrow night.

Lisa and Judy thanks so much for the Valentines Day wishes.

I am feeling quite stressed right now with everything I want to get done. DD wants a nerd skirt and shirt so I need her to narrow down the nerds to 6 plus 1 for the shirt LOL.

I think I am going to attempt the AK skirt next debating only 4 appliques and 4 plain panels for this one so it isn't quite as twirly but I have to go and look at what I have bought.

I may take the easy way and do one outfit for the boy next since Easy Fits are fairly quick and easy.

definately time for real lists to start and me starting some late nights on Friday and Saturday.

Finished all the skirt appliques today. I hope to get all the panels sewn together tonight along with the hem and top stitching.

:woohoo::woohoo:

hey I just sent you a PM...let me know if that is going to work or not

thanks!

YAY!!! Can't wait to see the skirt!!! :)

So Thursdays are my craziest day of the week. I have a huge list and only 50 days to get things done :scared1::scared1:

So this morning I got up early and worked on the skirt. I have to sew to gether the side seams, do the gathering and attach to the waistband and embroider the shirt which will be about a half hour itself.

I wish I had my half hour between J leaving for school and me leaving today but I have to actually be on time to work.

I may do the shirt this afternoon before C gets home. I really want this done today so I can move to the next project. I am half debating bring the next Fabric and cutting it at work so I will at least get something done.

Chiara.....if doing the shirts of me is too much, please let me know! I don't want it to eat into your families outfits, they are much more important! I can find someone else to help me!!!!

Lisa I am looking for a graphic to use once I find that we should be good.

So this week I have had to re-arrange my dining and let me tell you it was easy peasy. I was able to get everything for the same times. I was so happy.

I booked my parents air-travel, called DVC to add them to my reservation and book their magical express.

I finished an order for my cousin (this is a different one ;) ) her daughter just broke up with her boyfriend and this was a pickme up gift. IT is adult PJ pants and a toystory t-shirt. I must really love her to attempt that applique again. I love it but it takes a long time LOL

Here is the finished project:

I am almost done with the MICKEY SKIRT & SHIRT so be on the look out for pictures after 3pm.

Who wants me to bore you with my list for this weekend. If I get it half done I will be happy.

  1. Finish Winking Mickey Tank
  2. NASCAR Easy Fits
  3. Mickey RACE CAR Easy Fits
  4. 2 Big Give Shirts
  5. Mickey Race Car Shirt
  6. Fix Gs Pants
  7. Pack some flat rate boxes to sell (I am still trying to get rid of more scrap boxes)
  8. Cut out AK Skirt (another 6 applique skirt)

Wish me luck.

Wow, so glad to hear you were able to adjust your ADR's. Not always easy with that many people in your group. You are going to have such a great trip with your family!

Good luck with your list this weekend. Can't wait to see all the pix. Your "cheer me up" outfit looks really cute and comfy. Hope it brightens her day.

I love the fabric you chose for the pants, and of course the applique is perfect.

I'm trying to decide where to have dinner my last night. Any suggestions? I was going to add some place solo friendly, but I've been "everywhere" solo, so that's not really a factor.

I just checked the 15 day weather forecast, which I'm sure isn't too accurate, but it says rain on too many days. I guess I'm not getting the message to avoid February, because I've had more than my share of rainy days.

:umbrella: + :cold: = :sad1:

:beach: + :mickeybar = :yay:

Love the PJs, they look so comfy... I am kind of bummed - the girls and I were trying to organize the mammoth pile of crap on top of our suitcase, and I realized that we don't have any cute Disney jammies for the trip... :confused3 Not that it matters, but I wish I would have thought of it earlier... Actually, I might be able to throw some together - how long did you say it takes you to make a pair of EZ fits??? Like 30 min???

We are trying Boma for the first time this trip - really looking forward to it... Not sure if we are looking forward to actually eating at Boma, or just checking out AKL - or both. LOL

I still wish you'd stay and extra day and meet me... sigh. :lovestruc

D I can cut out a pair and sew easy fits in about 45 minutes. Just sewing takes me about 30 if I am not doing anything else LOL.

SO I feel like I am getting my work done this weekend since I finished the Mickey Outfit and finished a pair of shorts. I would of been further along but I tested a design for a friend.

Today I want to sew the other pair of Easy Fits and get started on the Big Give shirts. There will be no sewing though until bed time or unless I decide to go down now while the house is quiet.

I am having groceries delivered this morning so I will be reorganizing the refrigerator so J can not steal quite so much food LMAO. :rotfl2:

Oh and as promised here is the Mickey Skirt. I have to say this is one of my all time favorite outfits I have made.

Chiara - I love how this outfit turned out! It is so perfect and I love how you used red in it - it totally makes everything POP!!!

I've got a Boma reservation, too. Haven't done it solo before. We stayed at AKL as part of our 25th anniversary cruise and ate at Boma.

I still wish you'd stay and extra day and meet me... sigh. :lovestruc

D~

:crutches: I may as well go for sympathy. I've got an appointment on 3/6 with a surgeon. It looks like my thyroid and I are going to be parting ways.

Do crutches come with thyroid surgery? I hope so -- or at least LOTS of bedrest.

 Once again, another one that I hope will fit her for a very long time. Would she wear it to school or just Disney?

You may not remember me (heck, sometimes I'm not sure I remember who I am) but I am trying to play catch up with Dis. I stopped following a few ptrs when the Dis boards were so slow. Today I decided to catch up on yours -- I am still working on catching up on Lisa's, but I'll get there slowly but surely. So if you think some of these posts I am quoting were written over a month ago, you would be correct :)

so as promised here are pictures of my sewing space.

I am happy with how it turned out so far.
Love the space! So is it still that neat? I just cleaned mine out and rearranged a few things the past couple of days. It's harder to get at my embroidery machine though, but my cutting area benefits.

okay I have lots to say today.

I went to a meeting at Js school today. It was a clinic meeting that they have every other month to go over goals and things they are working on. They are the ones helping with potty training which is going fabulous at school and not so well at home.

I found out the rep from the district was there yesterday observing him (you would think they would call) anyway I found out they are leaning towards a smaller class I also have another school to look at that is seriously close to me so I want to see about a tour of that one.

I have finished the Scooby Doo Outfit and yep they were easy fits that I added a packet too. I need to clean up the shirt a bit.

Here is a hint of what I finished early this AM

oh and here is the next fabric I am going to be working on for a quick pair of Easy Fits for the girl she wants some PJs

oh and this is going to be the first of the Disney Outfits I am making but it isn't on the Girls List
th_f9a39b2b.jpg

I approved my Labels today so I am excited for those. I am waiting for a Jiffy Shirts order to work on that.

I am also going to work on a business card or two to stick in the present that I am sending.
Love the Scooby! And the benefit of posting only monthly is I've now seen all these teaser photos completed :)

So I finished the cars outfit yesterday. I think it is cute. Hope it makes it in time for the Godsons birthday

th_206b9ddb.jpg

I want to start on of my other projects but I still have a sick girl on my hands. I am not sure if it is sinuses or a cold but she does look like she has pink eye too so we may be going to the pediatrician.

Time to get moving this morning since I do still have to get the boy ready for school.
Love it!

WARNING - NOT DISNEY RELATED

Okay this is a little mommy brag about my J. I know I know but I have to take pride in all the small things.

the past few days J has been into cleaning up after himself with out being prompted.

For example he had a snack and once he was finished he took his plate threw his leftovers in the garbage and put his plate on the counter. THat is a 3 step process he did on his own.

He is also babbling a whole lot more. This is a great sign. It means the pre-language is there so we have to work on developing it much more.

Oh and he has started giving actually kisses :) but totally on his terms of course.
YAY!!!! :cloud9:

So I have been in such a funk the month of January. No specific reason but this month has just been hard for me. Since my last miscarriage in May of 2010 I have had horrid moods at times. 2011 was a super rough year between my mom being super sick and my nephew dying in September. (I have a super hard time around Pregnant people, not because I am unhappy but because of my own fertility problems) As a result I have been steadily gaining weight.

I decided this weekend I have to start exercising consistently 3-5 times per week and drinking water and eating better. I also need to work on being more positive and not always looking for the negative.

So this morning I started out by doing a one mile walk, I plan to get a second mile in this afternoon, along with some ab work. A couple of weeks ago we bought a pilates machine off HSN so I want to alternate that with walking. My goal is 10lbs by March.

I also decided I need to stop watching so much TV so I am going to start sewing and doing things in the evening after J is in bed or once the kids get on the bus in the morning.

Yesterday I finished a pair of PJs for C, actually I did the whole thing these were supposed to be a Christmas Present :rotfl2:
th_415dcf81.jpg

Some one also asked to see a close up of my Business Card. I made this by altering my clothing label graphic and adding the shop name.
th_chiarascouturebcblur.jpg

My clothing labels shipped today so I am excited for them to get here. Js bus was a few minutes early this morning so I started the sewing of Cs skirt. I am going to make 2 shirts to go with it. I hope I actually have shirts at home so I can do those otherwise I may try to go to Old Navy on Wednesday to see if they have short sleeves or Tank Tops.

I am also watching some Fabric on Ebay for J. I found an OOP Mickey Fabric that is a must.
Sorry I had no idea about your m/c but I can relate to that and the funk. After having no issues with my first two children and an easy time getting pg, we had to try longer for our third and ended with a m/c followed by unsuccessful fertility treatment. I think it's a funk that has lasted the past five years for me. It gets easier with time, but still is always there.

Good for you for exercising though -- it ha always been a pick me up for me, but it's hard to get started. I got in great shape when dh was deployed. I worked out 5 days a week (either DVDs or a combo of walking and running) and lost almost 10 pounds and was so much more muscular. DH's only comment was "you look nice" (In a monotone voice) so I quit and gained all my weight back. And now I have spurts where I go a few pounds over my upper limit and have to do slimfast for breakfast and lunch to get back down (guess what I had for breakfast this morning -- though after only four or five days I'm a pound lower than my top weight limit so at least it works. I also went for a two mile walk yesterday!!!!

I saw you pj's on Disbout -- love those / great applique and fabulous fabric.

And I really like your business cards. I remain on the fence about opening an etsy shop. I have to get a business license since I'm in VA and then am I obligated to provide Obamacare for myself?

I don't have a laptop so sometimes when I'm in the basement embroidering I can't tell what the picture on the PE-770 is, so I have to go back upstairs to get my bearings.

The joy of embroidery.
My computer is on the first floor and sewing/laundry is on the upper floor. I don't mind the stairs so much, but my problem is the dogs. DH does not allow them upstairs so I get them all nice and settled for their naps and have to come down to the computer and wake them up and then they come cry at the top of the stairs for me to play with them.

so who wants to see some pictures LOL.

Here is the outfit I finished for our trip. It is a skirt with 2 shirts just in case Test Track is closed :(

and the back up shirt even if this is my favorite. It really pops.
