I grew up a cat hater. Sorry, but my mom DESPISED cats, so it was what I knew. At one point in my life, I truly believed cats were the devil's spawn.
When my DD was 3yo, my sister's cat had kittens. She found a home fro all but one, and one day, pointed out to me how much my DD needed that cat. DD just loved the little guy so much, so we took him home. My first cat. Simba.
Simba was a GREAT cat, but sadly we lost him 3 years ago when we moved. We were staying temporarily at my in-laws house, and Simba got out accidentally, never returned. A few months later, I brought home Sara. A tuxedo kitty. The kids fell in love instantly. She is such a sweet cat. Very gentle, but extremely VOCAL.
I am allergic to cats. Most days I am OK, but if I pet Sara, and forget to wash my hands right away, forget it, I sneeze uncontrollably, my eyes swell up, it is not pretty. I mainly stay away. The kids give her more than enough attention, but she wants ME. She follows me all around the house. She accompanies me to the bathroom. Sits behind me on the tank. DD9 thinks that is creepy, LOL. This morning, I woke up to find her curled up on my STOMACH.
Any cat experts know why she wants all her attention to come from me? The kids are crazy about her, but she wants nothing to do with them. She would rather follow me around, crying the whole time. She just doesn't understand I can't pick her up like the kids can.
