Why does John McCain hate America?

yeah, I've seen that photo a few times, but it never loses it's impact.

I was a gung ho McCain supporter in 2000 and I really thought he was going to win. I liked his common sense approach to things and I loved that he called out the televangelists for their "intolerance". Of course, by the time the primary hit NJ in JUNE-GW had it wrapped up.

Sadly, he doesn't seem to be the same guy he was in 2000-although now that he has the nomination that could change.

Yeah, but I saw a small flash of the old McCain when he denounced that Cunningham guy. While I'm sure there will be 527's that try to sling mud at both candidates, I honestly don't think either Obama or McCain will stoop to the level we've seen in the past.

A true American is probably someone who has been tortured while fighting for his country, and not someone who turn his back for the playing of the National Anthem,

Umm...yeah...so it's a good thing none of the candidates have done that, huh? :thumbsup2

Really? Candidates are turning their backs during the National Anthem?

And I suspect most of the people that consider themselves true Americans are not because by your definition they have not been tortured while fighting for their country. Which, by the way, is not a requirement to be President.

That picture really hits you, doesn't it?

I'm looking forward to the McCain / Obama debates this fall, as I think the interaction between two honorable men should really be something to see!

something to be said for (political) interaction between two honorable people too:rolleyes1 popcorn::

ps, i admire senator McCain (my uncle was a pilot captured in WWII; he was never quite the same they say; very successfull though) and DH is a vet. However, the senator is a military man and all that entails...not sure if it's exactly what we need right now

Hold on there - which wife do you mean?
I was refering to the current Mrs. McCain...(the new & improved model lol); the one who responded to Mrs. O's comment in kind

Not Mrs. O, who fessed up that she was finally proud of her country after her hubby had a good show in one of the primaries

Hey...I'll take whatever I can get at this point. :teeth: Besides...since both nominees are going to be men, I didn't see the problem with that particular phrasing. ;)

it's not over till the clinton lady sings:teacher: and the super delegates lurking in the smokey back room put their cards on the table:rolleyes1

don't forget the couple hundred delegates currently in limbo from that great hanging chad state of FLA & the other one; both jumped the gun on the primary...decision needs to be made as to award them or (ms. clinton) or not.popcorn::

despite my personal feelings, as an "old-school" committeewoman, def nice to see the massive turnout & people finally jarred out of complacency and actually invested & voting!:cheer2:

Is that stupid email still making the rounds? :sad2:

The real question is "are people still BELIEVING that stupid email??"

I know people are going to say dumb things about celebrities and politicians, but that doesn't mean that they need to be accepted as true.

When John McCain was being pulled out of that water. Barack Obama was 6 years old,...certainly says something about their respective "experience"

Why does McCain hate America? He doesn't. However, I get a strong feeling that he's not all that enamored with the Republican Party. Quite frankly, I can't tell him apart from Joe Lieberman...and McCain is now the Republican Party's leader...their standard bearer? Wow, what a difference 8 years makes!! It's official...George Bush and the Roveian neocon movement strangled, killed and buried the Reagan Revolution! Long live the McCain Party!! A greener Earth, campaign finance reform, shut down Gitmo, sign the Kyoto treaty, dislikes Alito-style Supreme Court justices...hell, in his nomination speech, he even hinted at discussing when would be a reasonable time to pull out of Iraq!! The McCain Party is alive and well. What a hoot!!

say what you well, the conservative movement is far from dead. :wave2:

You mean the same "Mrs. O" that is quoted in her husband's book from two years ago talking about how glad she is to be coming back to America after a trip to Kenya, and saying that she didn't realize "just how American I am"? That Mrs. O? (Translated: Can we please get past the parsing of words and taking things out of context and deal with, you know, actual stuff?)

She's gonna have fun trying to sell Super Delegates on the idea of throwing away a sizable Obama lead "just 'cause I'm good enough, i'm smart enough, and doggone it, some people like me (although less than like Senator Obama)."

:teeth:

As for Florida and Michigan...there's nothing to decide. The rules are the rules. Period.

I heard he's a Muslim

He probably learned it at the madrassa he attended as a child! ;)

If "experience" was all that mattered, we should have elected Robert C. Byrd.

And I really don't think Republicans want to make age an issue in this campaign. Not when their 72 year old candidate is going to be compared to Barack Obama.

When I was in the Persian Gulf back in the early 90's, my wife was only 8. :thumbsup2

*gasp*

I hope you don't let her make decisions for herself! I mean...without your experience, she could...you know...run with scissors or something.

;)
