Why Do You Love Disney World?

We took our 2 girls to WDW for the first time in August of 1993,
it was the first REAL vacation me and my wife ever took with our
kids..At first, we did not think we could afford it...but we saved for a year and did it. The magic started when we were still at the
airport in Los Angeles, waiting to board the plane to Orlando...
my younger daughter was holding her stuffed Mickey, an elderly woman looked at her and said "I know where you are going!"
A Real vacation...3000 miles away from home, just the 4 of us, our little family all on our own! Me and my oldest daughter (10 at the time we went in 93) would get up around 7am and take a dip in the pool before breakfast.....it really was magic!
This will be our 3rd trip...the girls are now 18 and 20...they are still very excited about going this June...I love WDW for all the reasons listed by all of you, my Disboard family, but there is also
the memory for me that both me and my wife, whom many thought would not even survive marraige becuase we were only 18 and 19 when we were married, not only proved them wrong , but were able to do something for our kids more grand then they (our critics) could ever imagine!
3rd trip to WDW......22 yrs of marriage...and there are NO MORE CRITICS!!

Being a single parent, it's sometimes hard to juggle the different needs of my kids, my work, and my self. If I spend too much time at work, my kids can start to think they are not appreciated, or not as important to me as they truly are. Our trips to DisneyWorld has taken care of that. When we go, we get closer, we enjoy each other's company more, we talk and joke more, and it carries over.

Also, the customer service at Disney is fantastic. I've only met one grumpy CM (everyone can have a bad day), and everyone else just seems to go out of their way to make it magical for you.

And, it helps that my dad lives down there. He hates DisneyWorld, but we always spend a couple of days with him before going off to the Mouse.

I LOVE DISNEY WORLD!!!!!!!!! It is the "Happiest Place" on earth and it is full of "Magic"! I too feel like a "Princess" when I am there and there is a kind of feeling I get when I am there that know words could describe. I know this will sound silly but, going to Disney World has helped me over come my shyness. I have always been a very shy person but, now I am not as shy as I use to be. And I have Disney World to "Thank" for that. I am still shy and even more so around people I don't know. But once you get me going I never stop talking!


If someone ever asked me why I like Disney World, I would tell them that I just do, end of story!!!

I love it because I've always loved Disney. I fell in love with Disneyland in 1956.

Besides, when I'm there I can forget about everything else, like the sad things that go on in the world.

Another single mom here. I look at going to WDW as the best therapy in the world!!! It has helped to keep youngest DS, Alex, and me very close. And that, itself, is magical!!!

I leave my worries behind. I feel like I'm in fatasy land where anything and everything is possible and it's like being in a dream where you can be whatever you want to be and be wherever you want to be.

I like it because it's fun, it's magical, it's colorful, it's family friendly, and everyone you meet is there to have a good time and catch the magic, just like us.
I remember watching the spectromagic parade when we were there in '02, and there was this lady in front of me just bawling. She was so caught up in the magic!!! I go there, and i get all teary and goosebumpy(is that a word? ) There's nowhere in the world like it!!! I can't wait to go back.

It's Disney. Need I say more? I could see the castle a million times and still get excited and squeal when I see. Like i've never seen it befor. (And at almost 16 that anit a easy thing to do ) There's nothing like getting a hug from goofy. Whom I adore. Knowing my mom and dad won't have to worry about anything for that week and we can all just have fun and be happy. And being able to make fun of there pictuers when we get off the rides. Going there you make moments you'll never forget.

It's hard for me to describe exactly why I love the place. The atmosphere is wonderful that's for sure. I also love the characters and the rides. The shows are good as well. I think for me though it has to be that this is the only place I've ever been where I've had the best time of my life and I never wish to forget a single minute.

Just like everyone else said: The MAGIC! I feel I am really far away, when I enter the Parks, not 3.5 hours away. Where else can you visit other Countries, and not have to travel a lot....just walk. OH, and the Fireworks EVERY Night!!! I just LOVE it!

To me Disneyworld is like what I imagine heaven to be. Its a place full of warmth, love, happiness, goodness, fun, family, friends and all things that are good. No worries, people are kinder than in real life, everyone is there for the same purpose. There is comaraderie amoungst families, strangers become non-strangers by sharing like experiences. People get swept up into the magic and like it or not -even if you were Grumpy on the outside world your problems disappear- the warmth, goodness and fun engulf you - and next thing you know you are looking at "the world" with the eyes, heart and innocence of a child. Shy people become a little more outgoing, stern people become a little sweeter, crabby people become happier. At Disneyworld, the sky is bluer, the flowers smell sweeter, and life is as it was meant to be. No matter who we are, where we come from, what troubles we have at home, we are all equal at Disneyworld. We feel cared for and taken care of by the cast members. At Disneyworld we are all honored guests each and every one of us. Everywhere you look - there are smiles, laughs and giggles. Its an energy like no other. Walt Disney World truely is the Happiest Place on Earth! Thank you Mr. Disney!!

It's a place full of families having the time of their lives. I enjoy watching people of all ages and backgrounds having such a good time. The cast members are almost always cheerful. Like others have said, you get to be a kid again. And where alse can you see a show like Fantasmic or Illuminations any night of the week?

Everyone is always so happy, you can act like a crazy kid and no one cares, great rides, Off Kilter. I don't know how people can dislike Disney.

The first trip to the World was for the benefit of a nephew who loved Mickey. It was supposed to be a one time deal. We did everything possible at Disney and at Universal. We were almost crying when we left. At least we got that trip to Disney. Next year it was supposed to be someplace else. Well, that was 1992 and every year since we haven't found any place else yet!!! Even with all the changes over the years (some good, some bad-the loss of Hunchback).

Like so many other people have said, it's almost like you're in another world. We've become so familiar with Orlando it's like a second home.

You forget yourself and all the problems and worries at home. Maybe it's foolish because bad things happen everywhere, but you don't worry about your surroundings, especially in the parks. They're pretty. The CMs and wonderful. Most of the other visitors are nice. It's a wonderful place.

For the past several years, a couple of day before we leave, we'll be sitting around talking to people (strangers are always talking to each other at Disney World), and in order to torture herself my SIL will ask when they're going back home. She's only happy when they say "Today," or "Tonight," or "Tomorrow." That makes her feel better. (She's miserable when someone says, "well be here another week." We want to be there another week.)

Look, some have described me as a "Crank," but down there, I'm Ms. Wonderful Personality.

It doesn't look like the whole family will be going this year. That DN for whom we took the first trip is going off to college and they won't be able to go. I'm going to take the plunge and go alone. I want to be happy this summer, and the only vacation destination at which I can really feel happy is Disney World.

elmosmom, I really feel sorry for your relative. Maybe if they went with a child and could see the joy and delight from their perspective, maybe a little of the magic would rub off. Even crying kids make you smile at the World.

I'm just thankful we've been able to experience the place. There are so many people who would give an arm or a leg to go, and we've had that blessing.
