Why do the English wear hats on their foreheads?

When I saw these two I thought they looked like the stepsister's in Cinderella. Not a good look. I'm talking about Beatrice and Eugenie.

Sadly, I thought the same thing. Neither are ugly girls, but someone needs to "make them over". The outfits were horrid and the hats were just the icing on the cake.
Maybe they tried hard to look ridiculous since their mom was not invited.;)

Those blue hat things look like adorned canoes on their heads.

I love a good hat but these a horrible trend.

Victoria's hat and shoes are waaay to much, but I do love her husband's outfit. The long tails and the top hat look fantastic!

Had to look up Victoria too. After getting over the hat I looked at her shoes! Wow!

I would like to know the history too! This is the hat that caught my eye this morning - I actually hit re-wind when she came into view.

Did those two get dressed in a closet? Did they look in the mirror? Who told them they looked great? Because, whoever did is a liar!!!

To focus on the positive side, didn't everyone from Catherine Middleton's family look fabulous?

He does look yummy there, doesn't he? :goodvibes

And here's William's cousin Zara, who apparently traveled from the future to be there:

And look at the license plate on the car after the ceremony! So sweet.

Aw, speaking of sweet... Harry with the kidlets. So cute.

Yes, I thought so, too!

Not sure why, but I thought Camilla looked a little lost and kind of sad. She looked like she could have used a hug.

Is this the cousin who is also getting married soon? If so, is that her groom to be? He looks a little old.

OK, I couldn't get enough of that little blond page. He was clearly relaxed & having a great time!! :goodvibes

I was thinking the same thing about Eugina and Beatrice. At one point in the ceremony, there was a shot of the Queen with the girls behind her. They were both slouched in their seats and it looked like one was chewing gum. I doubt she was but her mouth was partly open and it looked crude.

Just watching them get out of the van at the church, they were ungraceful and I was surprised.

I think it's because traditional "big" hats are considered a bit old fashioned.

Many people go for "facinators" instead of a big hat. The teeny hats are an extension of that. They're worn on the front or side of your head as it'd look silly stuck right on the top of your head.

Beatrice and Eugenie are a law unto themselves and always have been a bit of a fashion disaster.
Sorry, but the bolded just cracked me up. :rotfl: I don't think anything could possibly look sillier than wearing it smack dab in the middle of the forehead, the way they are. ;) On the side of the head would have probably looked much better.

Those Antlers would've made her look even more like Rudolph's sister if she'd stuck them on the top of her head! Maybe they hinge up and down. Maybe they get FM and AM?

I'm surprised their mother didn't tell them that they looked awful - maybe she liked the looks, she's not known for great taste in clothes herself.

side view - even more ridiculous. I found it rather amusing that the commoner Middletons seemed to have more style than the royals.

SOMEBODY has to buy up all those ugly haute coture hats.

Frankly, I think the hat designer should have dropped the beige one down to in front of the girls face so she'd look like a real life cameo.... I think that's the look she's going for anyway. I guess that's Princess E

The blue hat looks like there is a purple blob of manure that will roll down the drain spout and onto her kisser any second, the tan fluff looks like the fur of whatever left the deposit. I think that's Princess B

I'd love to see Joan Rivers do a Fashion Police wrap up of the wedding. I'm not sure if Beatrice or Eugenie would get top honors as worst dressed!

I think it looks ridiculous. And, I'm sorry, but the two princesses looked terrible! It's like they tried to make themselves look bad. That blue dress is one of the ugliest, dowdiest dresses I've ever seen and the other is almost as bad.

I was kind of shocked that they showed up lookin glike that. it makes me wonder who their dresser is.............she should be fired!

My first thoughts as well :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh, he was so darn cute!
