Why do the English wear hats on their foreheads?

Okay, those two hats are making me :rotfl:

Some of them were just plain strange. I don't get it. At all.

When I saw these two I thought they looked like the stepsister's in Cinderella. Not a good look. I'm talking about Beatrice and Eugenie.

Ohhh my her foot looks so painful in that position - that MUST be why she never smiles. That girl needs some sensible shoes!:rotfl:

They look more like torture devices!!!

Look at how deformed her foot is. :scared: She always looks like she's sucking on a lemon. Didn't like her dress, either. There are very fashionable, stylish maternity evening clothes.

A shapeless blue sack isn't one of them.

And she's 7 months pregnant teetering around on those stilts, although maybe the pregnancy is why she looks miserable?

I did not see this! That is some outfit.

Maybe she's supposed to be a super hero of some sort!

Those hats & outfits are some of the worse things I've ever seen. Yuck!

I think it's because traditional "big" hats are considered a bit old fashioned.

Many people go for "facinators" instead of a big hat. The teeny hats are an extension of that. They're worn on the front or side of your head as it'd look silly stuck right on the top of your head.

Beatrice and Eugenie are a law unto themselves and always have been a bit of a fashion disaster.

Unfortunately it looks like Beatrice and Eugenie have their Grandmothers flair for frumpwear.

My 11 year old daughter thought the one on the right...I think that's Eugenie??....was Lady Gaga. :rotfl: I guess it makes sense for her to be at the wedding, she is a Lady after all!

That's Beatrice. Eugenie is the one on the left. Beatrice frequently wears that odd shade of fawn beige, which IMO makes her look monochromatic with that strawberry-blonde hair.

Unfortunately, I think Beatrice & Eugenie will end up in the Fashion Disaster or What Not to Wear pages of the tabloids. Sorry that they will have to hear those comments about their looks. Someone should have advised them better. :sad2:

Sadly Victoria Beckham is wearing a dress from her own collection. Not the best advertisement if you ask me...

Speaking of her stilettos, I remember seeing a picture of her at WDW wearing shoes about that height. She actually walked around the park in stilettos! :scared1: My feet hurt just looking at her.

I just loved the beige hat (or was it a fascinator?) that looks like a bow, worn by one of Prince Andrew's daughters. I saw a number of honest-to-God hats that were just lovely. I adore hats! I expect that any of the more precarious-looking hats we saw during the wedding this morning are constructed so that they can only be worn in a certain way, and that the designers advised their clients how to correctly place and secure their hats.

I knew it was her own design, which makes it 100 times worse.

I can't decide if they're wearing fashionable umbrellas or trying to cover up their bad hair day?!?! :rotfl2:

At any rate, I'm betting outrageous hats will be all the go now!?!? :lmao:

I hate to say this, but does anyone else think of Cinderella's ugly stepsisters? I mean, come on. These girls are loaded. They couldn't have found 2 decent hats anywhere in the British Isles?

I would like to know the history too! This is the hat that caught my eye this morning - I actually hit re-wind when she came into view.

To me, this hat looks like something that cannot be discussed on this board... :rolleyes1

I thought the same thing.

That was also MY first thought when I saw the two of them!

I have to admit, I actually laughed out loud when I saw the hats that some of the women were wearing. All I could think of was that they all had bets on who could come up with the most ridiculous looking headgear.

It also made me think of the story, The Emperor's New Clothes. Nobody wanted to be the one to point out how silly the hats looked.

I think some of the women purposely tried to find the ugliest, silliest looking hat they could find, and wore it on a dare.:rotfl: Anyone notice the hat that looked like bird feathers gone wild?

I also was thinking how awful it must have been to sit behind, or beside, some of the ginormous hats.
