Sun Tea is a nostalgic, vintage and also modern day beverage that many enjoy this time of year. Personally, I don’t hear of to many people making this now, like I did when I was a kid. My DH used to make this when we first got married and then he stopped - I should ask him later why he doesn’t make it anymore. If you’re wondering what Sun Tea is, here ya go…..

So, now that you know what Sun Tea is, you can now tell us…..

Have you had Sun Tea?
Do you make it or drink it somewhere else?
What is your opinion of it?
(multiple choice)

For Me…….As I mentioned above, my DH doesn’t make it anymore, but since I know he loves it, I’m going to encourage him to make some on the next hot sunny day. I don’t like it, but I don’t like many teas. I try to like iced tea, I want to like iced tea, but I just can’t do it :sad2:. I do like iced tea mixed with lemonade, so if my DH does make Sun Tea again, I’ll make some lemonade to mix with it :thumbsup2

Wow that is a blast from the past. I remember "back in the day" people doing this. I remember my aunt and uncle making this during the summer when I was a kid. Of course they also had a blacktop driveway, and my cousin and I tried (unsuccessfully) to fry eggs on it.

I just don't like tea unfortunately. I have tried numerous times to drink it. Every now and then I will get those Crystal Light flavored tea packets. It start off as, WoW this stuff is good. However, pretty soon, I am already tired of it again. Just this summer, I went through a couple boxes of the stuff with mango. Now.... tired of it again.

I used to make sun tea during the summer. I haven't made it in years, though. I make brewed tea and then refrigerate it when I want iced tea. It tastes a little better.

OMG we used to make this almost every day when I was a kid and I’ve made it a lot as an adult but sadly I cannot drink tea anymore if I could I would still make it I used to love love love ice tea and I miss being able to drink it because we used to drink tons of it in my house I really miss drinking iced tea ☹️

Had it a few times as a kid, but I didn’t care much for iced tea back then. I drink a lot of it now, both regular brewed tea, and some of the bottled brands like Snapple, Pure Leaf, Gold Peak, etc. I should try making sun tea again someday,

My dad used to make sun tea all summer long. Every few days there would be another jug brewing on the back deck. DH used to make it, too, but hasn't for several years now.

I may have been served it somewhere at some point but I know I’ve never made it. I do love the unsweetened ice tea that’s common in the States though. You never get that here in Canada. Restaurant iced tea here is the kind from bottles or cans (sweetened, but not near as much as your “sweet tea” and usually with lemon) and at home most people make it from a sweetened powder mix.

I've had it -- I don't remember that it was anything other than just iced tea.

But I've never made it, and I certainly don't go out of my way to have it.

I've had it in the past but no more as it's on the do not list for my crohn's disease. It can breed harmful bacteria per my specialist. I don't drink much tea anymore but when I do I brew it on the stove.

Been decades since I've had (I made it) ~ to me it was a trendy thing to do, haven't thought about it in years. I'm not sure if in reality it is any different than throwing the bags in a pitcher and sticking it in the fridge, just like cold brewing coffee.

Seems like a blast from the past from the comments above. And yes, I made it, albeit years ago when Vince and Natalie were kids. I'd put the jug out on the back porch in the late morning and by late afternoon we had our tea. Haven't made it in years though. It was good.
