Why do I stink at Buzz Lightyear

I am so terrible with video games and this ride also proves that. The little kid behind us doubled my score! I must not have the hand eye coordination I guess!

I did really bad on Men In Black over at Universal too.

Please tell me there's someone else out there that doesn't do well on this ride!

practice, practice, practice.......my first ride of a trip is always a bust, but by the last (usually the 3rd or 4th time on a ride) Ive got a not-to-shabby score.

I'm awful also! I just can't seem to figure out how to aim my gun. I can never see where my laser is pointing. I always start out shooting at my hand so I can see where the red light is, but once it's time to actually hit a target, I can't see it! I lucked out and hit the big robot's arm last time and ended up with a great score. Keep the trigger pressed all the time-you'll automatically get points every 7th(?) shot. I'm always saying "my gun is broken"!

Oh yeah - I stink big time! I always end up being whatever the bottom thing is, junior space ranger or something. I'm lucky if I get ANY points. But, I like the ride anyway.

I soooooo suck at Buzz! I thought I had done better than my husband in January (he was in the spaceship ahead of me with 1 of our DD's) ...but he was leaning over & I didn't see the 1st 2 digits of his score - how embarassing!

You will do better if you aim at distant targets. The laser actually spreads out at a distance, making it more likely to hit a distant target. If you aim at a target near to you, you must be much more acurate. Right at the beginning of the ride, turn your car to face the way you came from and shoot at the target, it is a huge instant score. Hope this helps!

Actually, that might be part of the problem. The person steering will typically get the better score because he/she is jockeying for position on certain targets that you might not be aiming for.

Try it next time with you steering and see how much your score improves (and how the frustration of the other person grows as you swerve away when your shotgun rider was closing in on a target).

The key to the game is that there are a few targets that will spill out a whole lot of points. Like the 25,000 point target at the end of the first room of targets (you have to turn back to hit it). You can hit that a few times and you'd probably beat out most people without doing anything else.

The one other thing to familiarize yourself with is which laser is yours. Especially with the distant targets you'll see a few red dots and you might adjust your shot based on a laser that wasn't even yours! That's why it's a good idea to sometimes shoot far away from the targets so you can single out your beam and then work your way towards a target.

Other than that, you're not scored on accuracy and your ammo is unlimited so just keep firing.

Actually, those that said their guns were broken might have been stating a fact.

There was a thread on one of these forums last September (I think) where they were saying that many of the guns did not work very well.

Right about that time they were saying that the ride was going to
shutdown for rehab. So maybe now all the guns work.

I do OK at MIB (I got the tips from the Universal forum ), but I'm terrible at Buzz. Dh often maxes out in the first section or two and I told him it was because he was 'driving'. Schoolboy error - he told me to steer next time and I did even worse! I've read all the tips on these boards (like the 'cone' effect, etc) and dh has tried to give me tips, but nothing makes a difference.

I used to always scream that my gun was broken. Last time we went was right after rehab and I said "Thank God! They probably changed those guns!" After riding it four times in a row at Enight with different cars, I can now officially say "OK, I just stink!"

I'm going to try holding the trigger down the whole time, I stink too - but its such a fun ride! We always play for Dole whips...I'm always the buyer. I hope I could beat DH just 1 time..................

I stink at this and my husband always gets mega points! I'll have to check out those tip. Hopefully they will help me because we plan to have a rematch tomorrow or Saturday. I think some of the guns are defective, more specifically the guns I've used .

You ever notice that you can see everyone else's laser but your own? It just suddenly vanishes.

Sometimes it is the gun! Last year we rode on an e-night and DS and I were in a car together. I had maxed out the score in no time at all!! Good shot? No way, they let us stay on and go around a second time, DS switched to my gun and perfect score for him too!! Try to get that car and impress your friends and family!

where the images are projected on the wall, there are targets/holes in the wall about three-four feet higher than an average adults head level while seated in the car....these targets are worth 100,000 points per hit! Even if you suck 1-2 hits and you just might have smoked everyone else in your D
