Why did they cancel my fastpass?

:DWell, maybe it's better to be disappointed 60 days in advance so you can readjust than to be disappointed while on vacation.

Following this thread since we are also a victim for 4/22 - got Splash instead at least. Would be nice for it to be fixed and get a 4th FP! (wishful thinking...) My 4/25 FP looks good still.

Same here....our April 21st FP for Space Mountain was canceled and replaced with Tomorrowland Speedway. 3 hours later!! Uggghhh! Not sure if we should make some changes to our plans for the 18th or keep our fingers crossed that it is just a glitch. This was our only SM fastpass for the week, so I wanted to make sure we had at least one.

Maybe we should stop jumping through all these hoops......... just show up each morning and say "where do you want me to go?"

UGH. This is nonsense. Barring some urgent maintenance need, if they want people to select FPs 2 months in advance, they should commit to a schedule 60 days out. If ride issues are this common within the 60 day window, they need to shorten that window........ to whatever it takes. How about same day? :teeth:
It's pretty irritating. We are expected to do a lot of planning to make sure we get to ride the rides we desire with minimal wait 60 days out. We have to make sure that these work with our ADRs that we have to plan 180 days out. Then, Disney will decide to change hours and closures whenever they darn well feel like it. Doesn't seem right. Then they might replace your FP+ with something else, but it might or might not be at the same time and might or might not be in the same area. Doesn't do you much good if they replace a Space Mountain morning FP+ with a ride in Tomorrowland in the afternoon or another morning FP+ but one that is in Frontierland. It changes where you will be when you will be there. In other words, it changes many of the plans that you were required to make so far out just to make sure you got to do what you wanted to do.

For what it's worth, I have a FP+ for Space Mountain no 4/28, 4/29, and 5/2 and none of those have been cancelled yet.

Hello, Traci.

We're sorry, your previously confirmed FastPass+ selection for Space Mountain® from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on 04/23/2015 is no longer available due to an unexpected change in the operating schedule.

As a replacement, we have made a new selection for you at Splash Mountain® from 6:05 PM to 7:05 PM on 04/23/2015.

At least I didn't get a royal screw job of Speedway at 9pm! GAAAHHHHH I HATE FP+!!!!!!

I also think you should be grateful it wasn't replaced by IASW, teacups, or dumbo! As a matter of fact I think you should be grateful that you are able to visit WDW, even if you're spending thousands of dollars for the privilege!

Was there ever a definitive answer about what went wrong?

This is another reason to hate FP+. Under the old system, we showed up and we went for what we wanted that morning based upon what we knew to be open. This planning ahead for rides, shows, food, tours, parties, poop breaks, shoe retie, water break, you name it is ridiculous. It is more ridiculous that you would be given such a sad little FP when you had a headliner booked. Is the group that does this based in India like some tech support team for Dell? :headache:

Hm... that's when I need to be at the airport, so...
Luckily I was at least able to shuffle that Splash res to earlier in the day. Bummed about missing out on that last SM ride though.

No answers yet. I'm assuming if Space is really closing that week, the info would be make public soon???

All, just got of the phone with Diney Help Center. "Lisa" confirmed that Space Mountain will be down for a "brief refurb" from 4/20 - 4/28. She appologized for the inconvenience. She checked for me for any available FP+ windows left open for 4/19, but there were none. She also indicated that a 4th FP was not likely since it was not a system error.

I still have a FP for SM on 4/25 at 9:35. I hope the refurb is wrong as JC is also down during my week.

Regarding "it was not a system error..."

The "system" allowed customers to make FP+ reservations on a ride during a planned refurbishment. That sounds like a system error to me.

I was not personally affected by this, but I feel sorry for those that were. I hope it works out r you all.

While a bummer on the 4th FP, it would only be a system error IF the ride closure was already on the books. Sounds like a late decision which means the FP+ system did not do anything wrong to cause folks to need a different FP+.

I still think a 4th should be offered for the inconvenience.

She checked for me for any available FP+ windows left open for 4/19, but there were none.
And this is why the assertion that "this is not a FP issue" is simply wrong. Guest relies on FP system to book the ride. Guest no longer can get a FP for this ride even on a day when ride will be operating. Guest now rides standby. That makes it a FP issue.

Iguess it depends on your definition of "system." Sure, the software worked, but ability to deliver on customer expectation should be part of it. To quote from Seinfeld:

Jerry: I don't understand, I made a reservation, do you have my reservation?
Agent: Yes, we do, unfortunately we ran out of cars.
Jerry: But the reservation keeps the car here. That's why you have the
reservation.
Agent: I know why we have reservations.
Jerry: I don't think you do. If you did, I'd have a car. See, you know how to
take the reservation, you just don't know how to *hold* the reservation and
that's really the most important part of the reservation, the holding. Anybody
can just take them.
