Why did MDE let me book FP well before 60 days?

It’s unfortunate the glitch works for some and hurts others.
The DISers, who’ve reported the glitch either didn’t work for them or they didn’t attempt the glitch, have also reported they booked all their choice FPs at the times they wanted when their 60-day window opened.

So, even though some in this thread have complained about the glitch, no one has been ‘hurt.’ The glitch is just happenstance thanks to a horrible digital system.

We are at 63 days out and I was able to get all my fastpasses this morning. I did them on my Ipad and had no problems at all. Got everything the first time I tried and then was able to go back in and edit times for some. First time a glitch has worked in my favor!!

I think you just hit on the tag line for the next Disney World marketing campaign:

May the glitch be ever in your favor

Or, if they don't want to pay the royalty fees:

May the glitch be with you.

To clarify I wasn’t really meaning the FP glitch, just the glitchy system. The poster I had quoted could only book 6 days of FP total and that’s the glitch I meant. CM’s told them only 7 days FP allowed to anyone. Now it’s still early before the 60 day start of their next reservation but if this truly does become a glitch that CM’s can’t help with that’s what would “hurt”. Sorry I jumped the gun on saying it.

I also have an 8 day 2 resort split with AP's, and was able to make FP's for all 8 days. No trouble booking on app or website, everything went through first time.

Thanks for clarifying. :goodvibes

It’s the hard close on open windows that’s affecting some. I’m just here to make sure posters feel okay about booking FPs with this “gifted” open, rolling window. :)

I was just able to book fastpasses for my niece when 60 days would have been tomorrow. They are checking in Monday 5/13 and going to the parks 5/14 and 5/15. They didn't book the hotel until last night and decided to try now. They have the old non-expiring tickets so not date based. I'm thinking that helped. Happy I don't have to get up at 6:00 CST tomorrow:). I will say sometimes only the next 30 days were in the blue to select, then I would go back and try again and after a few times May would pop up with the dates of their hotel reservations only showing up. Few times it would revert back to not letting me.

I have my UT tickets linked and I can see the colored tickets assigned to each person in my MDE app and website. I went to try the FP glitch and it says I haven’t gotten tickets for each person. But it shows that I do under my linked tickets. Is this error message showing because it’s not 60 days or does the system not see where each person has a ticket in the correct name. Just want to make sure I didn’t do something wrong in linking them but I really don’t think I did.

It's because you are not in the 60 days yet. The system absolutely recognizes you have valid tickets linked, just that those tickets are yet valid for making fastpasses, if that makes sense. Mine did the same thing and rolling window started on day 74.....does not always let me sometimes logging in and out will trigger it and bring up a calendar to pick a day for FP within my window.

Thank you! I’ll keep trying but as long as they work at 60 days I’ll be happy.

74 days today, nothing open - on site stay, all APs. Totally fine with that, only care that they are open at 60 days- just giving an update.
mine isn't showing yet either. I agree, as long as they are their at Day 60, I will be happy.

I've had a rolling window for a few days now but it is very glitchy. I would say it would only let me in 20% of the time. So far today no luck. There really does not seem to be any sort of pattern either as to methods used or how some are able and some are not. I will say I have found logging out instead of just refreshing or trying over and over in the same session has worked the best for me (when it works). Just keep trying!

I logged out and back in...this gave me my guests! But, still doesn't show we all have tickets. At least I am getting closer to having it set up. My biggest fear is it being 6:00 CT on the day of and the system not recognizing all the parts to get our FP+

Yes, today is especially glitchy! I have been making all of DD's, and today is the 2nd to the last day at 74 days out, and it's been super glitchy today, way more than usual. Taking a LONG time.

If you have your tickets linked and can see them in the tickets portion of MDE don't worry about it not recognizing your tickets. The reason you are getting that "error" after you select you guests is because the site is doing what it is supposed to if you try and make selections before your 60 day window. If you were 60 or less it would then allow you to proceed with the process. The glitch is causing the system to allow you to bypass and make selections for your stay ahead of time. I don't think anyone has reported the system not allowing anyone within their actual window to not get in.
