Hello!
So I have been researching Disney wedding locations(just for fun, I dont even have a partner!), and I am curious;
why can't people get married in front of Cinderella's castle?
I know that in Disneyland they allow guests to be married either in the front or back of Sleeping Beauty's castle, so I'm curious as to why they don't allow guests to do the same for Cinderella's. Is it a lack of room? I think I read that you used to be able to get married at a Swan Boat landing(before said landing was torn up for construction), and I know you can get get married at the Train Station in the Magic Kingdom, but not in front of the castle.
So, why not? Is it a lack of room? Would it disrupt guests or cast members to block off the castle for a wedding ceremony? Would the ceremony have to take place so early in the morning that it wouldn't be worth it?
Of course, I'm not trying to find a way to be that "one exception" and get married in front of the castle(though that would be nice, haha!). But Disney seems to offer a lot of really excellent locations, and one would expect that the front of Cinderella's castle would be a prime location. And honestly, let's face it-Disney could charge a million dollars to get married in front of Cinderella's castle, and there would STILL be a waiting list.
Again, I'm not trying to be standoff-ish or anything, I'm just kinda curious. This is all very fascinating to me, and honestly, I'm starting to wonder if my dream job would be being a wedding planner! Looking forward to any insight people here have. :D

The park's management won't allow it, due to some of the factors you mentioned. The only place they let Disney's Fairy Tale Weddings use right now is the Train Station. Disneyland has a more local base of visitors and fewer qualms about inconveniencing them for the right price—like closing the park early for corporate events in the off-season and allowing those weddings you've seen. Magic Kingdom rarely closes to day guests for anything but hard-ticket parties that the public can pay for (e.g., Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party) because they have so many more visitors from more places. They also don't have the facilities to do catered events the way Epcot and Disney Hollywood Studios do.

Even with the DVC events (which were free to DVC members) we went to at the Magic Kingdom (we went to both nights the 25th Feb and March 3rd) they didn't close the park especially early as February March is a time when park close will be around 8 or 9 depending on the day. Official event start was 9:30 with you being let in about 6:30 so you got the end of normal park operation.
The event as such only required minimal catering they brought out on tables with wheels and then special Character meet and greets. Then they just kept mainly the rides that are opened during early or late entry open so it was something they were very familiar with.

Typhoon Lagoon was taken over once by Alan Cumming and family for his joint birthday party with his husband. It's true...for the right price...Disney will do what you want. But the Magic Kingdom is largely kept for the public.
"Yes, that’s right, to celebrate our joint century alive on this planet, my husband and I closed down a water park and had 200 or so of our besties fly in from around the globe to make merry and get their photos taken with Mickey and Minnie, all whilst wearing bathing suits and very drunk."

I remember my wife telling me about a story she read that a bride badgered Disney until she got her wedding in front of Cinderella's castle. Now that was at least a few years ago and if they have done that recently, I would and wouldn't be surprised.
