Why can't I book beyond December 2017?

Hello,
We usually book our packages very early, but the site is only letting me see availability up to December 2017. Does anyone know the reason?

Packages are not open yet for 2018. If you want to book at a specific resort you can call Disney and they will give you a quote but will not confirm final pricing until the new year opens for booking.

Same. I'm trying to book for our Jan 2018 Honeymoon. Just keep checking back every once in a while.

In the past, they've released the next year's packages between June and August. You can call and they can book you a room only, then when the packages are out, switch to a package. You might find it easier to have a travel agency handle this for you. Dreams Unlimited owns these boards. I've used them in the past and had good service.

I booked three rooms at the Poly in early February of this year for our May 2018 stay. I booked resort-only as packages are not yet available to book. You can book any Disney resort room at 499 days in advance of your visit but you must do it by phone. If the CM on the phone says a room cannot be booked past 2017 (as the first CM told me), call back and get a different CM because you CAN definitely book a room up to 499 days in advance of your check-out date as long as you phone in.

You do not need a travel agent to do this booking unless that is your choice. You can handle it by phoning directly to the WDW reservation line. If down the road a package (room+tickets) becomes available for my dates at a better rate or even if the room alone has a better rate, I can call the reservation line and have the better price applied to my rooms. Again, no agent needed - i can do this myself but I will need to be diligent about watching for 2018 discounts when they are released. I knew we definitely wanted the Poly so now I know I have the rooms locked in and I can watch for a possible better rate.

Just checked our records...We booked our package for 2017 on 6/21/16, which was the first day 2017 packages were available. I would expect the dates to be similar this year

Thanks for the responses. That makes sense. Last year was our first year staying on site, and we were able to book for August 2016 in June 2015, so I just assumed you could always book around a year in advance. More proof of what happens when you assume things .
