I would like to hear from all the BCV owners about pros and cons regarding the resort. I am looking into purchasing there...it looks like it would be great...just want to hear from those who stayed / own there and get thoughts. Thanks.

Well My mother is the owner there, by proxy, I am too :) ... She bought, but I organize. She has added one TWICE now. same resort. Because we all love it so much.

it's got so much going for it. Other than being a beautiful resort. it's minutes from the boardwalk ( which is a short, but beautiful walk by the way ). Has good restaurants around. the pool is to DIE for!! ( Sand bottom pool! With a pirate ship waterslide! and a classic "soda shop" near by ). You can take a relaxinf boat ride to either epcot, Boardwalk or MGM studios. though really, Epcot is a 5 minute walk ( and boardwalk too, as mentioned ). The fact that epcot is so close opens up all its restaurants to your reach. No matter where you are that day, you can still go in through epcot for dinner because the World Showcase has SO many offerings here. all that, and Art the Greeter.

CONS: None!!!
PROS: What xipetotec said!!! Plus it is quiet and relaxing compared to BWV(which by the way is an awesome resort as well).

BCV or BWV would be great choices.

Besides all the above points we enjoy the decor, watching Illuminations from many of the rooms (partially obscured but still stirring and so nice to experience it from the comfort of your villa), the master bathroom design, being able to order room service and the BCV pool, Dunes Cove. A huge factor for us is the proximity of parking...lots better than VWL or BWV IMO.

We agree. BCV owners are probably the most passionate of all the owners and the resale market price proves the point. All the points made are valid. Proximity to Epcot for the World Showcase is HUGE! We dine there almost every night at a different country. It is a tradition that many BCV families come to relish. One heck of a lot better to make the slow stroll back to home after a great meal, fireworks and few cocktails compared to standing in a bus line waiting for a ride and it takes 1 hour to get home from the parks and the kids are all passed out on the bus and you have to carry them all the way back to the room.

Location! Location! Location! Did I mention location? Seriously, not only is BCV within walking distance of both EPCOT and The Studios, but it's located on The Boardwalk, which is my favorite spot in all of WDW. Also, don't forget about the pool.

I can't think of a down side. We own at both BWVs and BC. The best location to visit the parks. Enjoy!

I'll be the distaff side. While I agree the location is good, it just isn't our cup of tea. The great thing about DVC is that if one resort isn't exactly for you, there are 7 others to choose from.

I'll second that. We were there in May and had high expectations but were honestly disappointed and probably won't be back. Again, just not our cup of tea but are so glad we got to give it a try!

Can you provide specifics about what at BCV disappointed you?

We only went to SAB twice (we have a 21 month old) but because of the trek through the lobby we used the quiet pool the rest of the time because it just wasn't worth the walk as my DS got really anxious when we put his bathing suit on!

As well I felt more detached from everything else (suprisingly enough). I knew we'd be close to Epcot, which was nice, but it seemed like you have to walk quite a bit to get to the bus stops, watch launch, etc and the bus service was horrendous (which is a crap shoot at every resort, I know, it was just my first time experiencing bad bus service and it was sooo irritating). We waited for 45 minutes for a bus to take us to DTD, and the bus back from DTD when we eventually did get there was a 30 minute wait.

I think I just had these huge expectations that BCV was going to be the "best of the best" from everything I read on the boards. I was so excited to land a weeks reservation there and was a bit let down that's all. It's a nice place just not for us which is great news to all the BCV fans out there!

When we stayed at the BWV (close to the elevator) we felt more connected to the magic. Make sense? Sorry if I'm being a bit vague, I don't want it to sound like the place is terrible (it's not), just not our favorite!

The real ironic thing is that when I read posts about people complaining about having to walk everywhere in their resort, long hallways, etc, I think in my head "You're in Disney, you walk all day! What's an extra few minutes? Suck it up!" and now I'm one of those!

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not one to get into passionate debates about which DVC resort is better than the other. I'm just interested in obtaining opinions about various resorts, especially since I am on the wait list to add-on points at BCV.

Reasons to buy BCV: Its one of the more difficult resorts to get into once the seven month window opens.

Reasons not to buy BCV: Shorter contract life than SSR or VAK, higher dues than many of the other resorts.

Staying at BCV: BCV has a hotel atmosphere (as opposed to a condo type layout of SSR or OKW), it also has hotel amenities (valet parking, room service), it has walking access to Epcot and MGM (though MGM can be a hike), parking is closer than the other hotel-like DVC resorts - but not as convienent as at OKW. It has a lot of good restaurants within walking distance - both within the parks and in the Epcot area resorts. Probably its biggest draw is the pool - which is incredible but which its very difficult to watch smaller kids in. Its rooms are smaller than OKW, BWV has larger closets, but I like its kitchen table setup better. The decor is light and a lot of people believe it looks less clean (it probably is just as clean, but the lighter carpets show wear at lot easier - its decor is also "shabby chic" which means those gouges in the coffee table came there new). It lacks a community hall, but has some nice public hangout spots.

I did not care for BCV either if I had to choose I would take BWV as I enjoy the BW but I am not big fans of either excpet for the location to EPCOT other than that I feel very disconnected from everything else. The location is offset by the bus/boat service which was very slow but also true at other resorts that are in walking distance of or have alternate transportation. Both resorts are nice just not for me I live in a city and I am close to the beech so the theme and night life do not do it for me at either. I prefer a more relaxed resort and pleasure island for night life I guess it depends on the type of person you are....

I already own at two DVCs, but if I were going to buy into another, BCV would be my choice.

The only downside I can see of owning BCV is that it has no Grand Villas. So if you're going to need accommodations for more than eight people, look elsewhere, or you'll have to think about booking multiple rooms.

Did anyone mention location?? :rotfl2: It's about five walking minutes from BCV to Epcot, and maybe 15-20 minutes to the Studios.

How long have you been on the wait list (and for how many points)

Ditto dvcnut39's comments!!! We bought there for location, SAB, beach access for lounging and sandcastles, and the option of having 2 queen beds in the second bedroom of a 2 bedroom villa (not available at BWV). It is a great complement for our VWL points!
