Why Are You Going There?

I don't give a crap about what others think of my Disney addiction. I don't make judgements on the choices they make for vacation. Our next trip isn't going to be until Jan 2008.
I did get fed up last night and told DH that if I can swing it, we just might head there this year for Christmas. I have 95% of our Christmas gifts purchased. Just might take my Christmas bonus and head south. Dropping of family members gifts on the way to the airport. :rotfl2:

Just found this thread, and can I say I have exactly the same problem:confused3 I have stopped telling people here in Aussie land that we are going to DW again (2nd time DW, been to DL once also) because people at work tend to roll their eyes and say "not again". We are now telling people that we are going to Florida....not because we are embarrassed about being 26 and going to DW, but just because they DON'T understand...and never will unless they go and I can't be bothered telling people why we LOVE DW so much because they just think it's silly:confused3. I am SOOO lucky that I have a twin sister who is just as much into it as I am, because no one else is! I would LOVE to take my parents their and we offered to pay for them to come with us this coming May, but they didn't want to......can you believe that!!!! People just don't know what they are missing out on!!! Oh well, we are the lucky ones who have found the best place on earth!!!:wizard:

Hi everyone!

I usually go down there in December for MouseFest. When people at work ask me, "again?" I tell them it's my happy place. I get to meet my buddies from the Dis and from other boards, and we have the kind of blast you can't approach with dynamite.

I got it quite a bit from my sister in law over the holidays. Numerous times no less. I even tried sitting down at the computer with her to show her Buzz' pictures of CSR. She pretty much brushed me off. I tried to tell her 4 parks, afternoon off, explore at night, fireworks parades etc,,,,,,,,,!

We love going to WDW  . We have only been there 3 times with our 4th trip in 25 days (yes I count the days!):dance3: I can't wait until I can say I have been there 20-30 times.:rotfl: My dh and I have a blast and we make lots of memoiries that we cherish!:woohoo: Yes, my adult children and some of our friends don't understand why we go every year but they too will catch the fever someday.:cool1: Enjoy:grouphug:

Here in NYC, where you're supposed to be jaded and above it all, NOBODY gets why me and DH (37 and 31, respectively, with no kids) have gone twice in the past two years and are planning our Dec. 07 trip now. But many of our friends are artists or performers, so we tell them, "If you're any kind of theater, film, performance, fine art, special effects, or design fan, you won't BELIEVE the immersive artistic experience at Disney." That almost gets some people interested, especially when I describe things like Fantasmic ("They project film onto screens made of mist! Then they set a lake on fire!"). I wind up using phrases like "production values" a lot. Which is true -- nobody does "show" like Disney.

But the truth has less to do with art, and more to do with FUN. We go because it's fun. End of story.

I've said it before and I'll say it again...

For those who understand, no explanation is necessary; for those who do not, no explanation will do.

I love that, it is perfect, now if I can just remember that. :rotfl: I am heading to WDW in two weeks. My third, yes third trip in 5 months.:cheer2:
My dream is to have an annual pass and live within 4 hours/driving to WDW. Maybe someday......princess:
