Why are Thursday's always first to go?

Just curious as to why Thursday's are often gone first when rest of the week still available. I am assuming it may have something to do with Friday's and Saturdays costing more points (perhaps) but if this was case I would have thought Sunday's would be same....

any thoughts on this?

Long weekends for some visits that overlaps with others who are staying the entire week. That's always been my best guess anyway but we're not tied in to Sun-Sun visits and might who up any day of the week. Other relatives have joined us on Thursday night though for a long weekend.

My guess has always been that you have people booking long weekends starting thurs overlapping with people trying to maximize their points by going sun-thurs (skipping the higher point fri and sat nights)

I think this is probably right - thx

I agree. I always seem to waitlist a Thursday. I'm sure it's a big overlap day....end of some trips and beginning of new trips.

I can tell you from my personal experience I often travel from Thursday ( early morning flight) through the following Saturday ( 9 nights) so I can incorporate 2 weekends in the trip . I try to fly back late on Saturday giving me the day at Disney and then get to recover and get ready for the week on Sunday.

That is true but I've noticed that id I'm trying to book for the week, Wed & Fri will be open but Thursday is booked. What gives?

I think there are a fair number of people that book 5 night trips from Sun. thru Thurs. because of the lower points. Then you have the long weekender peeps starting on Thursday. If I were planning that sort of a trip I would consider flying down late on Thursday after work so I wouldn't waste Friday as a travel day and could have full days down there. Thus Thursday is an overlap day for trips ending and starting.

I like how you travel

I think there are still those that book the week day point price, Sunday through Thursday to save points. So those bookings would check out on Fridays, adding to the many who book Thursdays but not necessarily Friday.

We usually do this too! This time we are going on a Friday.

Great idea, especially about the recovery day. Thanks!

We've often booked Sunday-Thursday to save points when we've had multiple trips planned in a year. We're doing Thursday-Thursday this summer because the fares were better and we wanted a longer stay.

I've had a one night waitlist for a Tuesday night in May for a few months now. I am surprised it has not come through.
