Why are my son's diapers purple?

Does anyone know why Luvs has done this, and if it is permanent? Barney to Blue's Clues- good; Purple diapers- bad! :rotfl: They are not all purple, only the sides are but he just looks ridiculous in them (especially the ones with the pink border!)- I can't help but think he should be wearing a dress over it! Anyone else not too happy about the change? I know all the parents of girls probably think it's great, I would too, but it is just too girly for a boy, IMO...

Elliot usually has clothes on over his diaper so it never really is an issue but DH asked me if I was buying girls diapers accidentally.

Lol, you know I tried to tell my self that, but it just feels like he's wearing girls underwear :rotfl: It just looks so strange to me. I find it rather funny, to be honest.

I emailed Luvs about that "issue". It seems to be a permanent change, at least for awhile. My DS is skinny so his pants don't hang right and the top of the purple diaper was always hanging out! It wasn't quite what I wanted! We only went through 1/2 a pack of purple ones before he potty trained so I'm not too worried at the moment. But what I said in the email was that I have used Luvs on my two kids for 5 years and loved them, but if I were to have another baby boy and their diapers were still purple, I would use another brand.

I have a boy and the purple doesn't bother me. His testerone level seems to be fine. He's still grabbing at his crotch and hitting his brother on a regular basis.

I had to do a double take on the box, myself, when I saw the purple. I thought I picked up girl diapers. But, Barney=purple.....Blue's Clues=blue :confused3

But, like the other poster said, DS is still managing to control his "manhood" and scratches his rear on a daily basis. I think this too shall pass.. Just hoping that the diaper era is about over for us.

I'm glad someone mentioned this. I opened a package the other day and, surprise, they were purple (not a big deal I have a girl) but I was still surprised. My surprise got even bigger when I was taking them out of the package and found that only the diapers on the top row were purple, the ones one the bottom row were still blue :confused3

sorry, this wasn't suppossed to post here. :p

I was hoping to find something like that, but no such luck. We bought a small package though, didn't have enough money with us for the box. I honestly can't see my son wearing purple diapers for the next few months until he's potty trained- he just seems too big for it. I guess I'll have to go to Pampers... If he were younger it wouldn't bother me, but this just looks so silly. I'm not worried about his manliness being depleted or anything, it just looks wrong- he is tall with super short hair and then you see this lavendar diaper peeking out! It's even better when he's only wearing a diaper (which is pretty often at home) :rotfl2: It brings out his eyes quite nicely, I must say! :p

I guess that's why we ONLY buy diapers with Mickey and friends on them. :rotfl: No girly diapers for my boy in THAT package. :teeth:

FYI - Pampers diapers have been purple for quite a while. The Cruisers are purple & the regular ones (Baby Dry?) are green. It took my by surprise the first time I saw they were purple, but really, it's nevered bothered me.

Are you serious? I hate Huggies, they run way too small and are too expensive. The baby dry are fine for us so I guess it deosn't matter. Aren't the cruisers at least a darker purple? The Luvs are a light "girly" purple...

Pampers and Huggies are the same price here, but I agree they tend to run small, but I find that Pampers do as well. I just got Luvs but I didn't even notice the purple all that much...I am surpirsed Dh hasn't said anything, he is the one who notices things like. :rotfl:

I guess I'll have to get used to the idea of girly diapers on DS when he gets around to the Pull-Ups stage, huh? Darn. :( And we were trying to make him so manly..giving him all these trucks and stuff to play with. Only to have his manliness undercut by girly diapers. ;) :teeth: :rotfl2:

That's strange... here there is a price difference, not a huge one, but they are more expensive none the less. I have to disagree about Pampers, I think they are the largets of the three (Huggies, Luvs and Pampers). My SIL uses them mainly for that reason (more per package with the smaller sizes). We must be in a paralell diaper universe! :rotfl: The purple on the Luvs covers the entire sides, so I think it is pretty noticible, but it's probably because I don't like it (mind over matter). Ah well, I'm a weirdo- what can I say?

It's not that bad. The purple is on the sides & top - not too visible over the top of pants.

That's not too bad. What a cutie! Are the cruisers much more expensive than the baby dry or other regular diapers?

O.K. I have to jump in. Every time I see the title of this thread, I think that your son made the insides of the diaper purple! :rotfl2:

Honestly, I never have really compared prices on diapers. I've always just used cases of Pampers from BJ's & have never looked at anything else. I'm sure they are, though, since before they were called "Cruisers" they were called "Premiums"

Oh, and thanks I think he's a cutie, too :)

No, but that would certainly make diaper changes more interesting... :teeth:
