Whsipering Canyon Cafe from Magic Kingdom

We have a ADR at Whispering Canyon Cafe for one of the days we will be at Magic Kingdom. I have never done the boat thing before. Can anyone tell me exactly which boat I need to be looking for and how long it takes for the boat to go from MK to WL? Are there any stops?

It's the red flag boat leaving MK for WL. Not sure how long the ride is but csn't imagine it is more than 15-20 min. You can check the transportation section for more info.

Once you leave the MK you'll see several boat launches - there're straight ahead. Over the entrances are signs saying where it goes. The launch to WL goes there directly (it might have other stops, but WL is the first). I think the PP is right that it was about 15 minutes.

The ride is about 15-20 minutes but remember to allow time to wait for a boat. We just missed one an had to wait another 15 minutes or so which means allow 30 -40 minutes from when you leave MK just to be safe.

Just did this earlier in December 2010. Boat ride is 15 minutes, be prepared to wait up to 30 minutes to get the boat, but probably not that long. Allow extra time, you never know... As you get off the boat at WL, the geyser is to your left as walking toward the resort.

The 120' Geyser spouts every hour on the hour from 7:00 am to 10:00 PM Walk from the lodge to the back of the pool and there is a walkway to Watch the Geyser. Be sure to look for the rainbow which sometimes joins the show.

Getting to Whispering Canyon is a quick 10-15min boat ride from MK.

As PP said, the boat launches are directly in front of the gate (between the buses and the monorail).

HOWEVER where the Wilderness lodge launch is the launch right next to it is Fort Wilderness....2 very DIFFERENT places.
If you get on the Fort Wilderness launch you will not go where you need to.

So if you are unfamilar with Disney and the "Wilderness" lodges write down Wilderness Lodge and keep it with you, that way when you head to the launch you can double check which line to get into.

Funny story:
We eat at WCC every trip and last time were in line waiting when a extended family came up trying to figure out which line to get into. I heard where they were going and tried to help them but the young man of the group kept insisting it was Fort Wilderness that had Whispering canyon....
Needless to say they got in the wrong line and got on the wrong boat.

There is also a bus that goes from the Magic Kingdom to the Wilderness Lodge and it might be faster then the boat, so at least you have a second option for getting there.

I would give it an hour from MK, I mean get in line an hour before the ADR it board so you have plenty of time. The boat from MK is a straight shot and back again. The lines are well marked and there will be a CM at the launch to help you at MK. We do WCC every year we can before a party and I always take the boat. There is a lot to see around the resort while waiting on Dinner and WCC will give you a pager that lights up.
