I didn't want you guys to think I left you forever! I'm still here! It's just been a crazy few days! Today is looking busy too! It's Girl Scout cookie delievery day! Yippee!!! I have to pick up my troops cookies, sort them and go pick up the extra boxes at a different location! Then everyone has to come pick them up at my house! FUN!

Hello all my Diser friends!!!

For those of you who haven't noticed my ticker now say 13 days!!! Yippppeeee!!!! That means that my desktop ticker now says (at this very moment) 302 hours!!! YIIIIIIPPPPPEEEEE!!!!


So I had very busy weekend! We had international day for girl scouts on Saturday! It was a lot of fun and all the troops did a very nice job on their display! I just wish more of the girls from my troop had come to the actual event! 9

After international day we headed to DD's friends b-day party at the bowling alley a few towns away. It was a lot of fun! The kids were so cute bowling!! LOL!! They had the bumpers up so there were no gutter balls

Then Sunday was our trip the Museum of Natural History in NYC!! We drove in. It took us about an hour and a half from our house. While driving in Manhattan we saw the FDNY! On one of the cross streets there was something going on two trucks had there ladders up to the building! I could take a picture of that because it went by too fast. But I did get a picture, all be it blurry, of one the trucks on the street we were on!



We foundthe museum easily thanks to the GPS lady and parked, they have parking under the museum. Very convienent, especially for the city!

We had a blast! There's sooooo much to see there! It's a bit overwhelming!

We were able to go in the butterfly conservatory, which was beautiful all be it small and very, very hot! It was over 90 degrees and very humid in there! I apologize for my pictures, my camera lens fogged terribly so I didn't take a lot!!




I loved this one! It's a Luna Moth!

We were also able to the Wild Ocean Imax movie which was beautiful and wonderful!! At the begining of it it really reminded me of Soarin'!! It truly felt like we were flying over the ocean and cliffs of the shore!!!

We also saw the space show in the Hayden Planterium! That was unbelieveable! Stunning!!! It was about the creation of earth and the moon, meteors and comets, including the one that wiped out the dinosaurs! We even learned something!! Niether DH or I knew that it took only 1 monthes time for the moon to be created from the rocks after the collision that created earth! We also didn't know that after the meteor collided with the earth when the dinosaurs went extinct the temperature of earth rose to over 500 degrees for an hour! YIKES! Thats freaking hot!!!

I wasn't able to take too many pictures because it's very dark in there for the most part!

I've just started reading your report and I am enjoying it very much. Your family is adorable! I live in NJ and we went to the museum after the GIANTS Superbowl parade and had so much fun. I didn't get to see too much though because they were closing. Glad you guys had fun.

Nope! Not us! But we will be selling outside the grocery store at some point! Cookie sales are down a huge amount according to the council. That really doesn't suprise me. I just can't resist the yumminess!!!

We saw soooo much stuff!! We were there for 5.5 hours! We could have never seen everything or read nearly a small portion of the descriptions etc!

We ate the world most expensive lunch while we were there too! LOL!! We ate in their counter service place. The kiddos got hotdogs, 1 each, DH and I both got a chicken sandwich, we got 3 orders of fries, 2 drinks because DH and I shared a soda and the kiddos shared a chocolate milk and 2 cupcakes to share (these were the biggest cupcakes I've every seen) and it cost over $60!!!! I told DH that it was way more expensive then a counterservice lunch at WDW!! YIKES!

Anyway, we had a great time and will do it again! DD wants to go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art! I've been there many, many times but it's been a longtime and would love to go back!

Monday was DD birthday! OMG my princess turned 8!!!

Monday was also the day I had my biopsy! Yiipppeee!!! WARNING this may be TMI!

The last time I had the thyroid biopsy done, in late 05, it hurt a little bit, not to much and he put the needle in 2 times. This time he had to do it 5 times!!! When he started he told me that the needle was smaller then a needle they use to take blood but because the stuff inside the nodule they were biospying was so thick he tried with a bigger needle! OMG!!! Attached to the needle was this metal handle that he pumped to try to get something out! OMG, OMG!! It hurt sooooo much!!! It was terrible!!! THe last time he did it he got 10 cc's of liquid out. This time the consisitency of it had changed and it said it was thick as honey! He stuck me 5 times, twice he got nothing! He only got 1 cc!! UGHH!!! Anyway, the consistency change concerned him a bit. He said that it's not a pure cyst anymore so that worries him. I should get the result Friday!! I hope I didn't gross anyone out!!!

I thought I'd share with you how lovely my neck looks now...


That really doesn't do it justice because you can't really see the funny blue coloring around the part that looks like a hickey!

I'm also trying my hardest to help my sister, who lives in NJ, deal with some major marital problems! It's a looonnngggg story but I'm kind of her sounding board. It's exhausting!

Between the thyroid and 3 hours a day on the phone with my sister I'm soooo looking forward to this vacation! I told DH if my sister call while we're on vacation I'm throwing my phone in Seven Seas Lagoon!! I want to help her but she doesn't really listen to what I say and we've had the same conversation at least 1000 times! I feel so bad for her and she's terribly confused and just brokendown. But, I think she needs to stop talking to me and start talking to her H (leaving off the D)

I just keep thinking 12 days, which is 285 hours, which is 17116 minutes, which is 1026957 seconds... ​

Awww Melissa you really deserve this trip! So sweet of you to be there in such a big way for your sister while you're going through your own problems with your biopsy and being so busy! Big for you and your family.

Let me just say that Chris and I and 2 of our friends went to the museum of natural history over the summer (I think I may have posted some pics on my PTR as well). I just was reading the part about the expensive lunch to Chris and he said "Comment on that part, it was sooo expensive!" You're soooo right about that, it was definitely more expensive than a Disney CS and the food wasn't even that great! I got chicken nuggets and they were cold and rubbery. I think it cost almost $30 for just me and Chris to eat and we didn't even get that much!

LOL!! I like to keep busy! I'm better off that way! I can't sit still for very long. When I was still working it was one thing but now I need to do something besides the normal mommy/housewife thing

I wish we lived closer so I physically be there for her! At least it's keeping my mind off worry about my biopsy! LOL!!

Now that you mention it I remember reading about your trip in your PTR! As for the food, that's exactly what John and I said! At least if it was good it may justify some of the outrageous cost! But, it wasn't good! The chicken sandwiches were horribly dry! We had to smother them in mayo and honey mustard to even be able to swallow! Icky!

A few updates for you!!!


I spoke to the DR yesterday! Basically, from what the pathology report said some of the cells were benign and somewhere undiagnosable. So my DR was going to call the pathologist and speak to him to see if he thought the biopsy should be done again. Going into the biopsy we talked about taking my thyroid out if anything came back inconclusive because of my family history, my sister and my dad, and the fact that certain type of thyroid cancer, including the kind my sister had, are very hard to diagnose without taking it out. UGGHGHGHGHGH! So now I don't know what the heck to do!!!! I waiting to talk to the DR again on Monday! DH thinks it maybe a good idea to just take it out because it seems inevitable that I'll have to have it out at some point. My sister and my Mom want me to have it out. My sister says her doctor insists I need it out NOW! I'm just not sure about some cutting open my neck (sorry) if I may not have a cancer that spreads very, very slowly and I could be fine with it for years to come! I'm soooo torn and so annoyed!!! UGGHHGHGHGHGH!!!

Next, Today is DH's birthday!! Happy Birthday to DH! He left us for the day! His best friend called yesterday and told him he got 2 tickets from a client to a Bruins(BF's team)/Islanders(DH's team) hockey game today in Boston. DH talked to him a bit and then came down from his office and told me he wasn't going to go I said "WHAT?!" He felt bad leaving on such short notice, bad leaving me because we hdn't heard from the doctor yet and I think was affraid I'd be mad. I told him to go and he was crazy not to. He looked at me all dumbfounded and said "really?" Yes, really! It's your darn B-day! GO!!! So, he took a 7:30 am ferry from out here on Long Island to CT and will go to his friends house in RI and then off to the game. He's spending the night there because of when the ferries ran. So, for tonight I'll get to share my bed with 1 person, Ryan, not 2. I told DH just remember what a wonderful wife I am Especially because his friend lives in the town we went to college in and they get to go to the irish pub we used to frequent when we were in college We used to go there every Wednesday and have Corn Beef Sandwichs and lots of beer! Lucky guy!!!

The kids and I are going to hang out and go to the mall today Yipppeee fun, fun, fun!

Next,
9 days until Disney World!!!!!

I really need to get on packing but I ordered new shorts the other day and they haven't come yet. I'm not usually a shorts person but I also hate to be hot!! So, I figured I'd give it a try!

I also have to get on with this TR! I wanted to finish before we left! I still have 2 full days!!!!! YIKES! Hopefully I'll get it done!​

I so do not want to have that needle stuck in my neck again!! I still have a bruise from last time, almost a week later. Except now its all yellow and icky looking cause it's old! I'm kinda at the place now where I think I'm just going to have it out and be done with it! The thought of someone cutting open my neck freaks me out though!

Day 8 part 1

We woke early this morning with the intention of heading to DHS for at least part of EMH.

Of course with the way my family of 5 moves we didn’t leave the room until after 8 anyway!

Down the bus stop we went. We missed a bus to DHS by about 30 seconds! UGHHH!!!

There were like 7000 people waiting! Not just for DHS but the other parks too! OK, we stood around and wait and wait and wait. I could go on with the wait but I’ll spare you. We wait forever. People were getting restless and some were getting rude.

The problem was that the today was the WDW ½ marathon. No one was going anywhere fast. Unless, of course, you were one of the runners.

One of the more restless folks who was waiting to go to DHS asked a bus driver who was headed to Epcot what was going on. He told him that the marathon had just ended and the road were a mess. It took him an hour and half to take a 1 minute drive!

OK! Change of plans!! What to do, what to do? Hmm!! We decided to head to Roaring Forks for breakfast and discuss on plans from there. DH, being the gentlemen that he is, went to our room to get our mugs.

We had a nice leisurely breakfast outside by the pool! We talked about going to MK via boat and heading to DHS later, we discussed going to epcot and then heading to DHS, we discussed, discussed, discussed….

By the time we had our breakfast and sat for a bit it was after 10 and we decided to head to the bus stop and try again!
We got down to the stop and missed another bus to DHS by about 30 seconds! UGHGHGHGH!!! I told DH that maybe DHS wasn’t in the cards for us today! We decided if an Epcot bus came first we’d get on and go there.

But after about 10 minutes another DHS bus came! We got on and were on our way! But first we had to head to GF. It still baffles me WL and GF share a bus to some places! There are 2 other resorts in between!! Whatever!

The ride to GF took a lot longer as there was a lot of traffic! But we got there and a few people got on. We slowly made our way to DHS, again the traffic was an issue!

We finally got to DHS after 11!! Holy cow! So much for EMH!

There we’re a lot of people in the park and it seemed a bit warm! I prayed that the day wouldn’t continue the way the morning had been! DH and I discussed going to whatever park had evening EMH that night after we were done at DHS. So DH took Johnny and headed off to get FP for TSM and Dorothy, Ryan and I went to Guest Services to findout which park had EMH because I didn’t remember. I learned something new from the very nice lady at GS. Generally, in less busy times, no park has evening EMH on a Saturday because the parks tend to be open later on Saturday anyway! I did not know that!

Me and the 2 kiddos met up with DH and the other kiddo and we headed toward Star Tour because Johnny was dying to Jedi Training! We got there about 2 minutes after it started. Of course, Johnny didn’t get picked. UGH!! I can understand why, we got there late and hadn’t been standing there waiting like many other people. But, he was upset. I promised him that I would take him on Star Tours, again, and we would try again the next session! DH, Dorothy and Ryan waited in the shade and Johnny and I walked on Star Tours!

After our trip through space we did some more shopping in the drop shop, good thing for the kiddos they saved their money forever!! Johnny got Chewbacca’s arrow gun thing! He was very excited!

Then it was off to wait for Jedi Training!! We stood right on the white line and waited in the blazing sun! It was sooo hot standing there!!! OMG!! DH went and got some water so we didn’t die standing there!
