Love your photos! LWTL is a favorite of ours too. I just don't like the area where the fish are. I don't look at them. I seems sad to me. But then, I'm quirky like that!

Soarin is one of my favorite rides ever! So sorry Bob did not enjoy it. Dan has a thing about heights, but it doesn't affect him on that ride at all, luckily. I usually ask (nicely) if we can wait for the front row too. They never seem to mind.

I am so upset that I didn't know there was merchandise for Frozen. We saw the lines for the M&G and didn't go anywhere near the gift shop. We had been told there was no Frozen merchandise anywhere at any of the parks. I think we were there near the same day you were. Not really understanding the long line for Maelstom? It isn't that good of a ride to me. But maybe everyone heads there after their M&G with Anna and Elsa? I don't care for that ride in Mexico either. It's a snooze for me.

I've never had the GG Slush, but it is widely touted here on the Dis as must have drink.

I like the front row so I don't have to look at feet dangling above me to distract from the experience. However, I have, on many occasions, sat in the second or third row and enjoyed it completely. Just prefer the front for this one.

Ah how frustrating about getting your ice cream. I'm sure it was worth it though!

I was happy I managed to time that one so well so we weren't standing around waiting for our Soarin' FP+ to come due.

I was frustrating. I probably would not have cared if I was by myself but I felt bad holding my family up.

Yes VERY smart move with the Frozen Princesses to MK That whole area has been a cluster since they first got there in Norway When Ed & I went to WDW ( last month I think ? ) I could not believe how bad it was, one thing to read about it a totally different thing to actually see it Another disappointment and Disney seems to do it all the time with the shirts NO adult sizes craziness

It was sooo crazy in the Norway area! I saw a post or article not that long ago that showed some adult merchandise that is supposed to be coming out later this year. So keep an eye out, you might find something soon!

I can sympathize with Bob. Those kind of rides make me feel sick.

I tend to get sick on simulator rides too, Star Tours makes me very ill, but Soarin' has never caused me problems. I don't think he was sick though, just afraid of the heights.

Heights are scary if they are real! I guess I'm better able to distinguish between reality and the screen than he is.

i just read the same thing on Kathy's report! I cannot believe the wait times!!! No way.. Not ever.. Maelstorm isn't all that wonderful to wait that long!!!

It was really crazy in the Norway pavilion. Thank goodness they are moving Anna and Elsa to MK! And yeah, Maelstrom is not worth that kind of wait.

Nope Disney was NOT ready for the popularity of this movie.. thankfully Meg has what she wanted for Christmas!!! The castle, figurines and a couple of the stuffies..

I think you are lucky that you found stuff for Christmas I know a lot of stores were selling out. Someday I want to get an Olaf stuffie but who know when they will be available at WDW again.

I'll make my own shirts.. maybe..

I do know that they have Frozen designs at the Design-A-Tee shop in DTD.

Good timing for Living with the Land and Soarin'! Sorry that Bob was so scared of it though.

I wasn't that sorry for him, it was kind of funny.

I was sad to see no Frozen shirts for adults at The Disney Store, and looks like none at the park either! But it looks like there were some cute options for kids.

Keep checking, I saw a post I think on Facebook not that long ago that showed some cute designs coming out for adults.

Honestly, every time before riding Living With The Land, I completely forget how much I enjoy it.

I do love that ride but I'm the same way as you, I'm not exactly sure why I love it so much.

I really can't even imagine doing stand-by for Soarin'. Even with FP, it's a long time beginning to end. Add in the stand-by wait and good-bye day. We had someone in our group a few years ago that was also terrified on this. Like legit bawling. It's so hard for me to reconcile this being scary, but I guess for some it just is. This particular person was scared of pretty much everything though.

We did standby in 2010, waited about 45 minutes. It was a bit painful because the line is so boring but we made it through and loved the ride!

Wow, you really wanted that ice cream didn't you, lol.

I didn't realize when we were there how scarce the merchandise was. I guess we just got really lucky that day.

Great timing on LwtL and Soarin'. I really enjoyed your pictures. I didn't make it on LwtL on my last trip.

It was a nut house in the Norway area! I was surprised we did find any merchandise. It was pretty slim pickings as you can see by the picture.

Mark loves The Land ride so we usually end up doing it twice a trip.

I've never done it twice in a trip but I always try to hit it at least once.

I sometimes wonder how those CM's deal with the sun the way it hits their machines. I can't even imagine. 15 mintues and only three people ahead of you...that's a long wait.

It was a long wait. I could tell the guy worked that cart at the same time each day because the side of his face that was towards the sun was burnt but the other side was still white.

I am with you...not a fan of tequila at all and I have a feeling I know what you are after a bit down the road.

They had absolutely NO Frozen stuff at all while we were there in December or again earlier this month. Shelves completely empty. They sure were NOT preapred for this at all.

Reading other people's posts, there may not have been merchandise on the day you were there. I think we got really lucky the day we were there.

As for the Maestrom line, I was really wondering if people were thinking it was the line for Anna and Elsa. Boy that would have been a shock when they got to the front of the line.

What is the Grey Goose Slush?

It's a Lemon flavored Vodka slushy that you can get in France. They also have an orange flavored one that is made with Grand Marnier

Tell me about Soarin and why you would want the front row.

Soarin' is a simulator ride where you appear to hang glide over California. There are three rows and if you are in row two or three, you can see the people's feet in the row above you. I've ridden so many times that I usually don't care which row I'm in but since I had newbies with me, I asked for the first row.

I've never had the GG Slush, but it is widely touted here on the Dis as must have drink.

I've tried both. I found the orange one to be a bit too sweet and prefer the lemon one. They are both very good though.

As we exited China and headed towards the African Outpost area, we ran into Jordan, Abby and Sadie for the second time that day. They had spent the afternoon strolling around WS while Sadie napped. I’m not sure where they were headed at this point but they told us they were eating dinner at Chefs De France later.

When we got to the Outpost, I stopped because I wanted to look at the Park Map beads. Just in case you weren’t aware, Disney sends old park maps to Africa where they are turned into necklaces and other jewelry. I haven’t even made it to this point in my October TR but I actually bought two of the necklaces on that trip, a green set and an orange set. I had gotten so many complements on the necklaces I wanted to get another set. Mom helped me look and we decided on this set.



I loved the blue color plus if you look closely, you can actually see words!



Next of course was Germany.



It was me again that dragged us back into the area because I wanted to look around at the glass shop. I almost always get a Pluto from here and I wanted to see what they had. Well, my family talked me into getting this one.







Isn’t he gorgeous? He’s a Swarovski piece and you don’t even want to know what I paid for him. My family can always convince me to spend money.

We moved on and stopped for a few minutes to check out the model trains.







Next up, Italy.



I think it was around this time that I got a text from Jim telling me he was at the resort and had checked in with no problems. He was going to head to his room to drop off his bags and then catch a bus to DTD for dinner and Lego shopping.

I headed into the wine shop because I wanted to get a glass of my favorite wine, Rose Regale.



I know John and Jocelyn also got a glass of some kind of wine and I think Pat did too. I think Pat may have run into a couple of the stores too. She was looking for a purse to go with her dress for the wedding the next day. She didn’t like the one she had brought with her.



We moved onto America and the next American Adventure show was about to start. John said we were going to see it so we headed in. He is a big history buff and loves this show. I was fine as it gave me some time off of my feet!









I took a few pictures during the show:







But then Mom leaned over and whispered that the camera screen was too bright, turn it off. Since I always listen to my Mama, I did turn the camera off and just enjoyed the rest of the show.

But then at the end of the show, she leaned over and told me to take a picture of this:



During the show, my phone had vibrated so I checked after and got the following text from my husband:

“Looks like I will be here a while I can’t get my computer out of the nightstand drawer @#%^$*. They put in a work order to housekeeping so I have to wait it out.”

No clue how he managed that one but someone from maintenance came and had to pry the top off of the nightstand with a crowbar. I guess there was a little ledge that the computer had gotten caught on. The maintenance guy did say that it wasn’t the first time it had happened. Jim ended up being delayed about an hour before he got to head to DTD.

We continued onto Japan and went into Mitsukoshi.



We spent quite a while in there because Pat was purse shopping. We also watched Pick a Pearl for a while. I wanted to do it but it was crowded and I wanted to get a ring which would take a long time to get made. I wasn’t going to be able to back track that night to pick it up. Mom and I would be back at Epcot later in the week so I planned on doing it then.

When we exited Japan, I realized we would have to pick up the pace a bit so we could make it around to our dinner ADR on time. We did not stop in Morocco.



But when we got to France, we saw Jordan, Abby and Sadie for the third time as they exited Chefs De France! We stopped to chat for a minute while Pat looked quickly through the stores for a purse.

I took fountain pictures while we waited for her. I had planned on getting a Vodka slushy, probably the Lemon Grey Goose variety rather than the Orange Grand Marnier one, but we were hurrying and I didn’t think I would have time to finish it before dinner.

We had to move quickly from France through UK and onto Canada so we could check in on time for our Le Cellier ADR. We got there right on time for me to check us in. Esther and my Uncle Jim were joining us for the meal and they showed up a few minutes later. Our dinner ADR was kind of late at 7:45 pm because it was the only time they had for a party of eight. Unfortunately by this time the glaring sun from the day had caught up with Jocelyn and she had a raging headache. I doubt the long afternoon with no food and lots of tequila didn’t help either.

Mom and I had been looking forward to this meal for a very long time. It was our favorite meal from the Mother/Daughter trip we took in 2012. John was also looking forward to this one as well. He had wanted to eat there in 2010 but I was a newbie to the whole planning process and did not know about the 180 ADR rule. I could not get us a reservation for that trip.

And then we sat and waited and waited and waited. We finally asked what was going on and they said that since the restaurant was so small there were only a few tables that could accommodate a party of eight. Whoever was sitting at the table meant for us was taking their time. The CM did offer to point them out to us so we could go and give them the stink eye but we declined. Finally at 8:30 pm, 45 minutes past our ADR time we were called back to be seated. Jocelyn was starting to feel nauseous at this point and was almost in tears. She would not leave though because she knew how badly John wanted to eat here.

When the bread came I think we all attacked it because we were so hungry by then. I did manage to get a quick picture before the vultures descended.


Oh man that pretzel bread was as good as I remembered!

Ok, to refresh your memory, here’s the steak I got in 2012. It was the Mushroom Fillet and I subbed the Mushroom Risotto for the Cream Cheese Mashed Potatoes.



Doesn’t that look delicious? It really was melt in your mouth good and the mashed potatoes were excellent.

Let’s compare to my steak from this meal. I ordered the same one but subbed for fingerling potatoes since they no longer have the mashed ones. I apologize but I forgot to take a picture before I cut the steak I was just so hungry at that point.



See the difference? My steak this time was burnt on the outside and still pretty cold on the inside. And the potatoes? Yuck! They were dry and way over salted. What a disappointment compared to the previous experience. Mom’s steak looked just as bad and we kept exchanging glances like, what the heck is going on. But we both stayed quiet because everyone else seemed to be enjoying their meals.

Poor Jocelyn only ate about two bites and then she and John quickly got their bill and left before dessert. John got the Rib Eye but I don’t think he really enjoyed it because he was worried about Jocelyn.

Thank goodness dessert was just as good as I remembered. I of course got the chocolate mousse although I did have a panic moment because it wasn’t listed on the menu. Luckily they did still have it.



Mom got the Maple Crème Brulee which she really enjoyed.



I did snap pictures of two other desserts although I have no idea what they were at this point.





Looking back, I wonder if the meal was quite as bad as I remember. It had been a long day and we were all tired and hungry. It was sure not the meal I remembered from 2012. Would I go back to Le Cellier again? At this point I’m not sure. This meal sure soured me to the restaurant with the long wait and the poorly cooked steak. I hope it was just an off night but it will probably be a few years before I go back there.

When we exited the restaurant, it was 10:30 pm and Epcot had been closed for a while. The park was completely empty and I was so tempted to turn right and take the long way around the lake. But everyone was tired by that point so we headed left towards the exit. But you know me, I could not resist doing a SE photo shoot on the way out.

I think we caught a bus pretty quickly and were back in the resort in no time. We stopped in the gift shop for a minute and Jim came to say hi. He had gone to DTD, had dinner at Earl of Sandwich (he said not worth the money for the tiny size of the sandwich), bought some pins and spent more on Legos than I did on the Swarovski Pluto. I didn’t feel so guilty with my purchase after he told me that one!

I went back to Jim’s room to see his purchases but I did not take pictures that night. He was actually in the same building as us but his room was on the first floor and faced the pool. He had a King sized bed too which he loved. I never did get pictures of the pins he got but here are the Lego pieces. First one was the White House. He had this put together before I got home from the trip because he was snowed in for two days when he got home.



His second purchase was a train set:

His last purchase was huge, I have no idea how he got this thing home on the plane. Check out the number of pieces this thing has:



It’s the Simpson’s House and it even opens up so you can see the rooms. Jim was having quite the chuckle a few nights ago when he put together the Lego toilet.



Here’s what my puzzle table looked for a while. I told him he could take the puzzle apart since it was finished but he just built on top of it.



He has since finished the house but I haven’t had a chance to take pictures yet.

After he showed me all his purchases, I headed back up to my room and Mom and I finally made it to bed around midnight.
