Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

Hope your mom continues to look after herself. Those dizzy spells would have been scary!

Nice pictures from the Seas. Love that fish tank display area in front of Turtle talk.

Subbing in...wanna hear and see all about the Disney wedding. Bless your heart for embarking on such a large family trip to WDW...had a few family trips myself and know how :crazy2: they can be. Thanks for sharing!!!

I'm glad they finally figured out what was wrong with your mom.

We love the Nemo ride and looking at all the different fish. Sorry you didn't get to see Crush (I find that room very stuffy a lot of times). I would have been scared too if mom just disappeared and wondering if she passed out. I'm glad she just went to find somewhere to sit and eat something.

Soarin'....scary? I can't wait to hear this.

om goodness! No walking away! Need a leash next time for Mom. Glad they figured it out and can be avoided. Is it Diabetes? This is a household name in my family.

That Oopsi not liking NEMO! :rotfl: Just kidding i do think it is a really cute ride.

Sorry you missed talking to the "DUDE' still hope you said it for the rest of the day.

Soarin.. hummmm.. trippy...

That was scary about your Mom! My Mom has dizzy spells too and she still drives and THAT drives me crazy!!! I'm glad your Mom was okay and agreed not to run off without telling you again.

I like the Nemo ride. It is not a favorite, but we always do it. There was no line when we went this trip either. Just the amount of time it took to wind around and actually get back to the boarding area.

UhOh Gotta go get my granddaughter from school.. Be back later...

Will I be flamed if I admit, I do not like the Nemo ride? :confused3 I just wish the Living with the Seas ride would have stayed the same, I think the whole Nemo part of it is silly. :rolleyes1 However, I LOVE Turtle Talk with Crush...I thought that was a great addition! :thumbsup

No flames from me, Nemo is not my favorite either. I only ride it because there is no line! And I really like Turtle Talk, I was disappointed we didn't get to see it.

Your poor mom. Glad she took care of herself, but yeah, disappearing like that can cause panic when you know something is not right with her health. :worried:

I do think she's got it under control now but I was not happy she just disappeared!

Yay for the seas, but boo for mom dissappearing! That definitely would have freaked me out too! Especially if she didn't tell you where she was going! Glad you found her incidient free!!

Excited for more!!

For the most part I'm a pretty level headed person but for some reason medical emegencies freak me out.

So relieved to hear your Mom was alright and was okay for the rest of the week
I would have " yelled " at her too BUT on the flip side I understand how she feels
My Dad was like this and Aunt Mary is finally starting to understand that she MUST keep people near & dear to her informed Just tell Mom " Pride goeth before a fall " KWIM ? I will keep her in my thoughts & prayers :flower3:

I do get that she doesn't want us to worry but I'd much rather know what's going on rather than think the worst!

My goodness, sometimes I really wonder what doctors do. I would think low blood sugar would be a fairly common thing to diagnose. :confused3

I know, it was very frustrating when she was bouncing between doctors for so long!

Oh yeah, I would be scared/frustrated too if a family member just took off like that. Of course, I'm also one that would probably wander off like your mother did, so I guess 'm a bit of a hypocrite too, lol. So glad to hear there were no more issues that week. :goodvibes

It was a little scary but thankfully we found her quickly!

I'm sorry about your mom. I probably would've scolded mine as well if she did the same thing! Love your pictures of the tanks. I definitely need to spend more time looking at them in the future!

I could spend hours in that building just looking at the tanks! Mom and I both agreed we did not get enough time in there this trip!

Sorry your mom has not been feeling well. I hope her doctors are able to get to the route of her dizziness.

I think as long as she follows the instructions her doctor gave her and improves the way she eats, she'll be fine.

You got some really nice shots in Nemo. That's a fun ride. I also love visiting the aquarium. The fish are so cool. I haven't seen Turtle Talk with Crush for quite awhile.

I do think it's a cute ride although the could have maybe done a little more with it. I love watching the fish!

Glad your Mom was okay and quickly found! I have similar blood sugar issues. If I go too long without eating it starts to drop and I get light headed/dizzy. If I don't eat soon after that starts I'll faint, so I feel your Mom's pain. I always have some sort of food with me just in case, for that reason.

Yeah, she has started carrying food with her at all times just to be on the safe side. I'm hoping she will work on her diet so she can continue to manage it that way.

Bummed you missed Turtle Talk, but it's lucky that Nemo was a walk-on! When I was there in September they had half the line walled off, now I know why!! :thumbsup2

Yep, I noticed the walled off area in October and was interested to learn the reason this last trip.

Hope your mom continues to look after herself. Those dizzy spells would have been scary!

I hope so too! She has never eaten well so she better listen to the doctor and improve her diet!

Nice pictures from the Seas. Love that fish tank display area in front of Turtle talk.

I could watch those tanks for hours!

Subbing in...wanna hear and see all about the Disney wedding. Bless your heart for embarking on such a large family trip to WDW...had a few family trips myself and know how :crazy2: they can be. Thanks for sharing!!!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! It was a bit of a crazy trip but lots of fun. It won't be too long till I get to the wedding as it was on Monday and I'm currently writing about Sunday.

I'm glad they finally figured out what was wrong with your mom.

I am too, it was frustrating that they couldn't figure it out.

We love the Nemo ride and looking at all the different fish. Sorry you didn't get to see Crush (I find that room very stuffy a lot of times). I would have been scared too if mom just disappeared and wondering if she passed out. I'm glad she just went to find somewhere to sit and eat something.

I was scared and worried when she took off. Thank goodness my Aunt was there to take charge because I'm a basket case in those situations!

Soarin'....scary? I can't wait to hear this.

Coming right up!

om goodness! No walking away! Need a leash next time for Mom. Glad they figured it out and can be avoided. Is it Diabetes? This is a household name in my family.

I don't think it's Diabetes yet but could get there. I really don't know because she won't talk about it much.

That Oopsi not liking NEMO! :rotfl: Just kidding i do think it is a really cute ride.

I'm not the biggest fan myself but it is a cute ride. Definitely not a must do for me but I'll hop on if there is no line.

Sorry you missed talking to the "DUDE' still hope you said it for the rest of the day.

Soarin.. hummmm.. trippy...

Darn, I forgot all about the Dude thing. I could have had some fun annoying my family. ::yes::

That was scary about your Mom! My Mom has dizzy spells too and she still drives and THAT drives me crazy!!! I'm glad your Mom was okay and agreed not to run off without telling you again.

Mom still drives but I'm hopeful that she is following doctor's instructions and has it under control.

I like the Nemo ride. It is not a favorite, but we always do it. There was no line when we went this trip either. Just the amount of time it took to wind around and actually get back to the boarding area.

I have never really seen a long line for it but I guess maybe in the summer months it might get bad. The length of the queue is kind of rediculous.

UhOh Gotta go get my granddaughter from school.. Be back later...

Go take care of those grandbabies!

We headed towards the Land building next. We had a FP+ for Living with the Land that was from 2:15 – 3:15 and it was getting close to 3 pm at this point. I wanted to use it towards the end because our Soarin’ FP+ started at 3:15pm. When we got to LWTL there was no line at all so we didn’t use the FP+ but just walked on instead. The line had been pretty long at lunch so I’m glad we had the FP+ just in case. I can never resist pictures on this ride, there is just so much to see so here we go again.

They still had a little winter cheer going.

I timed the ride perfectly, it was right at our Soarin’ FP+ time when we got off the boat so we headed straight there.

Even with the FP+ it was still a bit of a wait since Soarin’ is such a slow loader. When we got to the front the CM started to put us in row 3 but I asked nicely if we could be in Row 1 so he sent us down to the next Bay and into Row 1! We were off to one side but at least there wasn’t any feet in our view. My family loves this ride but Bob on the other hand was scared to death. He was next to me and I could see he was white knuckling it the whole time. He said afterwards that he found the heights terrifying and went on and on about how scary it was. Personally I’m not a fan of heights but Soarin’ is so gentle it doesn’t bother me. The rest of the group was laughing at him a little bit.

Soarin’ was the last thing I had planned for us in Future World so it was time to head back into World Showcase for some Country exploring. Since our dinner was going to be in Canada, we headed towards Mexico to start.

I was getting a little hungry at this point and knew dinner was still a long way off so when I spotted an ice cream cart right before Mexico I decided to stop. I know there’s lots of goodies around WS but I was really craving a Mickey Ice Cream sandwich. I told everyone to go ahead and I’d meet them inside but they insisted on waiting. I wish they would have gone ahead because it took forever to get through the line. I felt so bad for the CM working the cart. The sun was hitting his screen so that he could barely see to type in the orders and on top of that the Magic Band reader was not working very well. He kept having to radio someone for every transaction. There was a young girl in front of me, probably about 13, and she was trying to use a gift card. I have no idea where her parents were but the CM could not get the gift card to work and she did not have any other way to pay. I’m still kicking myself because I should have stepped up and just paid for the girl’s ice cream. I don’t know why I didn’t think of it, I could have afforded the $3 to help the poor thing out. But the CM ended up sending her away without her ice cream and I went up and decided to pay with cash instead of using a snack credit. The CM was so relieved when he saw the cash in my hand. I got my ice cream sandwich and also a bottle of water. Overall it took me about 15 minutes and there were only two or three parties in front of me.

I apologized to my family for taking so long and we headed on into Mexico.

Bob headed straight to the Gran Fiesta Tour like he knew what he was doing. We had to stop though because I was still eating my ice cream and after some discussion, we decided to head to La Cava for drinks instead of riding. Pretty light fixture outside the bar:

Everyone got a margarita except for me. I am just not a fan of Tequila and had something else in mind to get further along.

We shopped around Mexico for a bit while everyone drank their drinks but I don’t think anyone bought anything. We then headed out and slowly made our way towards Norway. Pat had mentioned that she wanted to get something Frozen for her granddaughter and I figured if they had anything it would be in the Norway pavilion.

When we got there, the Norway pavilion was an absolute mad house. Between the huge line for Anna and Elsa (CM said 3 hour wait), the line for Maelstrom which extended all the way out of the area, and people waiting for early dinner ADRs at Akershus, you could barely move.

We pretty much had to fight our way into the store and thank goodness they had two small walls of Frozen merchandise.

Pat ended up getting one of the Elsa shirts and also an Anna and Elsa play set. While she was checking out, I was able to peek around the corner and see the meet and greet area. It was very cute but it was obvious Disney was not prepared for their popularity as the area was in no way big enough for the demand. I totally understand why they are moving to MK in April.

After Pat was done, we got the heck out of Norway and moved on towards China. No one wanted to wait in what looked like a 40 minute line for Maelstrom. When we got to China, no one was interested in going in the store so I took one picture and we moved on.

Up Next: Continuing the Trek Around the World

I love Living With The Land. You really timed the rides perfectly!

Ah how frustrating about getting your ice cream. I'm sure it was worth it though!

Yes VERY smart move with the Frozen Princesses to MK That whole area has been a cluster since they first got there in Norway When Ed & I went to WDW ( last month I think ? ) I could not believe how bad it was, one thing to read about it a totally different thing to actually see it Another disappointment and Disney seems to do it all the time with the shirts NO adult sizes :confused3 craziness

Poor Bob on Soarin '

I can sympathize with Bob. Those kind of rides make me feel sick.

OK.. I cannot keep a straight face for soarin! :rotfl2: :lmao:

scariest ride ever! But I can see his point!!! heights are pretty scary!!

i just read the same thing on Kathy's report! I cannot believe the wait times!!! :crazy2: No way.. Not ever.. Maelstorm isn't all that wonderful to wait that long!!!

Nope Disney was NOT ready for the popularity of this movie.. thankfully Meg has what she wanted for Christmas!!! The castle, figurines and a couple of the stuffies..

I'll make my own shirts.. maybe.. :rotfl:

Good timing for Living with the Land and Soarin'! Sorry that Bob was so scared of it though.

I was sad to see no Frozen shirts for adults at The Disney Store, and looks like none at the park either! :worried: But it looks like there were some cute options for kids.

Honestly, every time before riding Living With The Land, I completely forget how much I enjoy it.

I really can't even imagine doing stand-by for Soarin'. Even with FP, it's a long time beginning to end. Add in the stand-by wait and good-bye day. We had someone in our group a few years ago that was also terrified on this. Like legit bawling. It's so hard for me to reconcile this being scary, but I guess for some it just is. This particular person was scared of pretty much everything though.

Wow, you really wanted that ice cream didn't you, lol.

They still had a little winter cheer going.

How sad is it that I just want to grab the nearest "Nine Pound Lemon" and lob it at the #&^%@ snowman? :rotfl: I am SO OVER winter... :faint: No winter cheer here. Sorry! :crazy2: Just ready for warm air and sunshine! :beach:

Okay, moving on... :goodvibes

Hmmmm..... what could you be holding out for rather than a margarita? :confused3 Could it be the infamous Gray Good Slush (which I have never tried)? :surfweb:

Me too!!!!

And I am thinking she's waiting to get the slushie too.

We pretty much had to fight our way into the store and thank goodness they had two small walls of Frozen merchandise.

Pat ended up getting one of the Elsa shirts and also an Anna and Elsa play set.

Glad there was Frozen merchandise available for your visit. There was next to nothing left on the day we were there. All sold out

Great timing on LwtL and Soarin'. I really enjoyed your pictures. I didn't make it on LwtL on my last trip.

Sounds like it was crazy at Norway. Glad you managed to find some Frozen merchandise.

Mark loves The Land ride so we usually end up doing it twice a trip.

I sometimes wonder how those CM's deal with the sun the way it hits their machines. I can't even imagine. 15 mintues and only three people ahead of you...that's a long wait.

I am with you...not a fan of tequila at all and I have a feeling I know what you are after a bit down the road. ;)

They had absolutely NO Frozen stuff at all while we were there in December or again earlier this month. Shelves completely empty. They sure were NOT preapred for this at all.

Love your photos! LWTL is a favorite of ours too. I just don't like the area where the fish are. I don't look at them. I seems sad to me. But then, I'm quirky like that!

Soarin is one of my favorite rides ever! So sorry Bob did not enjoy it. Dan has a thing about heights, but it doesn't affect him on that ride at all, luckily. I usually ask (nicely) if we can wait for the front row too. They never seem to mind.

I am so upset that I didn't know there was merchandise for Frozen. We saw the lines for the M&G and didn't go anywhere near the gift shop. We had been told there was no Frozen merchandise anywhere at any of the parks. I think we were there near the same day you were. Not really understanding the long line for Maelstom?:confused3 It isn't that good of a ride to me. But maybe everyone heads there after their M&G with Anna and Elsa? I don't care for that ride in Mexico either. It's a snooze for me.

Is there a Grey Goose Slush in your future??? Inquiring minds want to know.
