Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

I think Disney missed a great money making opportunity... The magic bands need to have a shock device installed. Whoever is in charge of the group has the option to shock those who don't follow rules! If they don't participate in photos, lazy around, make you miss fast pass times or reservations you can give them a little shock!:rotfl2::rotfl2: Hey I would pay extra for it! Ugg, not the best way to start a trip, rain, ride breaking down, others not doing as they are told...:crazy2:

:scared1: Full bus and full circle back to starting point, I was so afraid this would happen to you & your family when you said where you were staying and the cheerleaders were there at the same time Hopefully the rest of your trip wasn't impacted too much by them

Cape May I/We haven't had dinner there in ages, I was debating about it for Sept but you just convinced me....no Great pictures of the fixtures there though kudos to Bob for his good eye and you for the results !

Even though the GMR was a bust I enjoy your pictures, you manage to take things I have been walking past for years and never manage to, so thanks for that

TOT I THINK the trick on the timing for the pictures is when the door opens to the outside, right at that moment, or am I remembering wrong :confused3:rotfl: obviously I need to get over there, also a favorite of mine

A little girl took YOUR Pluto pin :worried: ah too bad, hope it wasn't a really hard to find one..Hey another upcoming generation of Pluto lovers maybe :thumbsup2 so that's a GOOD thing

Your TR title is really making me nervous for all of you

Great pictures in HS and on the rides. I do love the ability to get the ride photos as part of the PhotoPass/Memory Maker. Glad you were not stuck on the GMR! You think your first day was a bit of a bust but I'm impressed you got so much done on arrival day. Sorry your dinner wasn't as good as on your past trip. I am sure everyone enjoyed themselves and just being with the group.

:rotfl2: My parents would never go to Disney with me again - they know I would shock them if they were doing what I say.

Hey another upcoming generation of Pluto lovers maybe :thumbsup2 so that's a GOOD thing
I was thinking the same thing. She probably saw your Pluto bag and wanted some Pluto love for herself.

This just cracked me up!! I'm all for it!

Ariana, we decided last September that we would not be going back to Cape May. Our first two times there were fantastic, servers, food, everything. But last September, the food was lacking as well as our service. Sorry that was your experience this trip. I did like the photos you took.

It's always such a bummer to seem to "waste" a day. I think only DISers understand this fully. But at least you rode two of my favorites and got some great pics too.

Looking forward to your next installment. I love ready your report!

pictures came out great!!! I am a HUGE light fixture picture fan... I have several of them!!! :rotfl:

Food? Sorry first time ever am i going to say it just looked ok? The crab legs did LOOK very good!!! Sorry it wasn't up to par!!!

Sorry about the GMR!!! What's wrong with them! didn't they know you were coming?!?! geesh...

Loved the comment about shock MB's that could be fun...:stir:

Wow, I'm kind of surprised the bus was that packed in the middle of the afternoon.

I think it was mainly because the Cheerleading competition was going on at HS. They were using the Indiana Jones stage that day.

Wow, really... No photography allowed AT ALL??? Admittedly I haven't seen AI Experience in quite some time, but that seems odd.

I think it really depends on the CM at the time. Hall of Presidents is the same way, sometimes they say none at all an other times no flash photography.

I think the thing that's standing out to me in the ToT ride photos is how bundled up everyone seems to be. Is that girl in the back wearing mittens????

It was pretty chilly that day because of the rain. I'm not sure if it was really cold enough for the gloves though! Thank goodness it got warmer by the time the wedding rolled around.

I was always curious about about the fact that you could "technically" walk right in to a park without scanning. Clearly that seems to be the case. I guess FP's probably wouldn't work, but who knows? Still an odd design.

Yeah, I'm guessing FP+ won't work if you didn't actually scan into the park. But since all we did was walk through, she didn't have any problems.

I'm in!!

Hate it was raining but I'll take a rainy day at Disney anyway!

Can't wait to read more!

:welcome: Thanks for joining in! I totally agree that a rainy day in Disney is better than a sunny day not at Disney!

Love the pics in front of the hat. And I LOVE that border! I've seen some other people use that and I am very jealous it wasn't available when I did mine.

Those were my favorites from the trip and will go in a frame if I every get around to ordering hard copies! I did like that boarder but was pretty disappointed with most of the selection. Many of the boarders still said 2013 and there were lots of Christmas ones too.

UGH how frustrating about GMR :( It just wasn't meant to be I guess.

I know, it really stinks that it was the first ride too.

And I'm sorry that dinner wasn't as good as the last time you were there, that's always disappointing.

It was disappointing and it wasn't the only meal I was looking forward to that turned out bad. But we'll get to that a little later.

I'm sure I would've felt bummed out too, not the best way to start your Disney vacation. But at least you got RNR and TOT in and of course you have your other days to (hopefully) make up for it!!

We did get on two of the best rides, that's for sure. Looking back it wasn't as bad as I thought it was and Bob and Pat had a great time so I guess I did something right.

Great pics! :)

Thanks!

Love some ToT! That's a great pose by the guy in the back. DHS is a decent park in the rain, since at least the rides are inside and don't get shut down.

That guy in the back is really funny! I agree that HS is the best park for a rainy day. Other than Indiana Jones and Lights, Motor, Action, I don't think anything else stops.

Sorry for the disappointing dinner. I've never been there; I never feel like I eat enough to justify the cost of a Disney buffet. The exception I'll make is breakfast at CP, mostly just to get in the park early!

I'm not a huge fan of buffets either because I'm so picky but Mom and I really enjoyed Cape May in 2012. I do think everyone else enjoyed the meal, it just didn't compare to the previous time for me and Mom.

Love the photopass/memory maker pictures you got at HS. I like the group ones with the Hat in the background.

Those were my favorites from the whole trip!

Shame you missed a FP+ ride and that GMR was down. Sorry that you felt like the day was a failure. It still seems pretty good to me.

It wasn't really that bad of a day but I can be hard on myself sometimes. Since the plans didn't go exactly the way I wanted them too, I was a little disappointed.

Hope that tomorrow ends up being a better day.

For the most part, it was.

I love your hat pictures - despite the rain, they turned out nice and bright.

Those were definitely the best ones that included all six of us.

I dream of the day I can wear sweatshirts in Disney again.

I do prefer a little cooler weather to boiling hot summer days. We really did have great weather the rest of the week.

We kind of came to the same conclusion about Cape May dinner buffet... It was good - there was some good food (loved the chowder) - but unless you were an expert at crab cracking (which I am NOT) - then it's kind of a waste to eat there.

Yeah, I definitely did not feel like I ate enough to justify the cost. Well other than the three Boston Creme Cakes I ate. :rotfl: But they are small so I could justify it.

It's too bad that your day wasn't all you hoped it would be. I sure hope the next one is better.

D~

I'm just hard on myself, everyone else had a great time I think. The next day was much better for the most part.

So sorry your first evening was a disappointment! At least you got in a couple of good attractions at DHS and some nice pins trades.

We did get some good attractions in! I've become a bit obsessed with the pin trading.

oooh, two days and you have two updates already!!!!

I doubt I'll be able to keep up that pace since I'm still writing the October one too!

well, boo, I hate that you didn't get as much done as you wanted....but still, it is Disney!!! :goodvibes

Yep, any time at Disney is good!

Hoping the next day is better.....and maybe several more before the sickness starts (why is there not a fingers crossed smilie?) :lmao:

The next day was better but as for the sickness, well you'll see!

Wow, I'm so surprised you had so many stops until you got to the park! In all the times I've stayed at the All Stars, I've never had a shared bus. So strange.

I think they sometimes share buses during the afternoon. It would normally be ok but with the cheerleading competition taking place at DHS and a lot of them staying at the All Stars. Well, you can probably imagine.

I'm sorry your day wasn't all you hoped it would be... but I hope it got better throughout the trip!

It did!

I'm subscribing and enjoying your report so far! What a bummer about the crab at Cape May. The crab was great on our dinner there last summer. It was hot, easy to crack and eat. I bet it is just one of those places it depends on the night and who is cooking it and getting it set out. Hope things get better for you as the trip goes on!

:welcome: Thanks for following along. Yeah, Mom and I thought Cape May was wonderful in 2012. Guess they were just having an off night this time.

:rotfl: What a great idea! As you'll see in the next post I kind of took care of the problem. I also had to settle myself down as I'm used to going non-stop at Disney.

:scared1: Full bus and full circle back to starting point, I was so afraid this would happen to you & your family when you said where you were staying and the cheerleaders were there at the same time Hopefully the rest of your trip wasn't impacted too much by them

That was really the only time we had a long bus ride. While the food court was always crowded they really didn't impact us on the buses or in the parks the rest of the week.

Cape May I/We haven't had dinner there in ages, I was debating about it for Sept but you just convinced me....no Great pictures of the fixtures there though kudos to Bob for his good eye and you for the results !

Well, Mom and I had a wonderful meal there in 2012. Maybe this was just an off night for them? Bob definitely is one that has an eye for details.

Even though the GMR was a bust I enjoy your pictures, you manage to take things I have been walking past for years and never manage to, so thanks for that

You are welcome! Glad you enjoyed the pictures.

TOT I THINK the trick on the timing for the pictures is when the door opens to the outside, right at that moment, or am I remembering wrong :confused3:rotfl: obviously I need to get over there, also a favorite of mine

I've tried several different times to figure out the picture but I never seem to time it right. :confused3

A little girl took YOUR Pluto pin :worried: ah too bad, hope it wasn't a really hard to find one..Hey another upcoming generation of Pluto lovers maybe :thumbsup2 so that's a GOOD thing

I know I couldn't believe she stole my pin! :rotfl: It may have been one I already had, I tend to trade for them even if they are duplicates especially if I mention to the CM that I'm looking for Pluto ones.

Your TR title is really making me nervous for all of you

It was an interesting week for sure!

Great pictures in HS and on the rides. I do love the ability to get the ride photos as part of the PhotoPass/Memory Maker. Glad you were not stuck on the GMR! I am sure everyone enjoyed themselves and just being with the group.

I guess I'm used to hitting the ground running and am usually in the parks by Noon on arrival day. It didn't feel like we did much compared to my usual! I do think everyone had a good time.

I was thinking the same thing. She probably saw your Pluto bag and wanted some Pluto love for herself.

Maybe that was it. I just couldn't believe of all the pins on that big board, she had to take the Pluto one!

This just cracked me up!! I'm all for it!

Ariana, we decided last September that we would not be going back to Cape May. Our first two times there were fantastic, servers, food, everything. But last September, the food was lacking as well as our service. Sorry that was your experience this trip. I did like the photos you took.

Hmmm, maybe it has gone down hill because it was very good in 2012. Not so much this trip.

It's always such a bummer to seem to "waste" a day. I think only DISers understand this fully. But at least you rode two of my favorites and got some great pics too.

I think I was the only one who thought the day was unsucessful. Probably because I'm the only one of the group that is obsessed with Disney.

Looking forward to your next installment. I love ready your report!

Thanks, coming up soon!

pictures came out great!!! I am a HUGE light fixture picture fan... I have several of them!!! :rotfl:

I think reading so many TRs on here and seeing light fixtures, it makes me look up more at Disney. And then of course I have to photograph them. ::yes::

Food? Sorry first time ever am i going to say it just looked ok? The crab legs did LOOK very good!!! Sorry it wasn't up to par!!!

Well, there were probably some better looking selections on the buffet but you know me, picky! I should have taken some of the others plates but it is so hard when you hands are messy.

Sorry about the GMR!!! What's wrong with them! didn't they know you were coming?!?! geesh...

I know, tell me about it!

Loved the comment about shock MB's that could be fun...:stir:

Yep it could be fun!

When we said goodnight on Saturday, we decided to all be on our own for breakfast the next morning and to meet up around 8 am in the lobby. That was a little earlier that necessary but I figured no one would be on time and we would get out the door around 8:15 am.

Mom and I were up and out of the room by 7:15 and headed to the food court for breakfast. Mom has been having some issues with her sugar so she decided to be boring like me. I got my usual bagel and banana and she got a bagel and an iced coffee.

It was during this morning that we realized exactly how the rapid refill thing worked. I knew the mug had chips in them but I didn’t realize the paper cups you purchased also had the chips. I had been lazy this morning and decided to buy a soda rather than bothering with my refillable mug. You have to place the paper cup on a tray under the soda dispenser before it would start working. The machine told me I had a set number of refills and a set amount of time to get those refills. Mom tried to go up and get a little bit of soda and her clear coffee cup would not work. But she used my cup since I didn't use all my refills.

Bob and Pat joined us for breakfast but John and Jocelyn were a little late as I suspected they would be and did not eat breakfast. They showed up a little after 8 am so it was right around 8:15 when we headed to the buses. My plan of telling them a little earlier than I really wanted to leave worked.

Jocelyn realized that she had forgotten her sunglasses but didn’t want to run back to the room to get them so we got in line. I only mention this now because it became a huge issue later in the day.

We caught a bus fairly quickly and made it to AK by 8:45 am.

I delayed us at this point by needing a restroom stop so after that, we headed into the park.

It was still before 9 am so I had us stop by the Tree for some PP pictures.

We then made our way towards Asia, stopping a bit along the way to take in some of the sights. Bob and Pat were both amazed at the theming of the park so I’m really glad we talked them into going for a few hours.

Expedition Everest was a walk on so I didn’t get to take pictures in the line. I did decide to be annoying though and rang some of the bells along the way.

Everyone enjoyed the coaster a lot although Bob told me I shouldn’t have told him it went backwards so he would have be surprised. I guess I was still in “husband” mode from the October trip. Jim won’t ride something until I give him a detailed description of what the ride does.

When I saw the ride photos, I felt bad that I was totally hide Pat’s face but she thought it was funny.

I had us on a pretty strict schedule for AK since we were only going to be there for a few hours but John and Jocelyn hadn’t eaten breakfast and wanted to get something. John really wanted a Minnie’s Bake Shop cookie but I had no idea where they might be sold in AK (we did find them later in the dump shop of Dinosaur in case anyone really cares) so I suggested the Kusafiri Bakery in Africa.

We headed around the park towards Africa to go to the bakery.

I have no idea what either one of them got at this point but I did take a picture of the sign so I could remember the name of the place.

While they were in line, I saw a CM with some pins at the store across the way so I went over there to do some trading. She had a Pluto pin and also a Monorail pin that I traded for. Mom also headed to the food stand closer to the Safari ride and got an apple. She is supposed to eat small snacks all day to regulate her sugar levels.

As everyone snacked, we got in the Safari line at about 9:40 am. The wait said 10 minutes and that was pretty accurate. I took one lone picture in the line.

Bob had been complaining a bit this morning, first about the PP pictures and the funny one we did with Stitch. He was going on about something else in the line, can’t remember what at this point and I finally turned to him and said “Lighten up, would you! We’re at Disney World after all!” Luckily he took it well and realized I was mostly joking. He did lighten up after that although I did also threaten to make him wear some Mickey ears if he kept complaining so maybe that was what did it.

Up Next: Safari Time

I always tell people to meet 15 minutes early too, so they show up on time! ;)

AK day! Your PP pictures are great so far. And funny how you got Bob back in line about the pictures. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Im loving your pictures.. We leave tomorrow and Im procrastinating packing by reading trip reports. I wish bags packed themselves!

Great start to the day. Love AK. Glad you got Bob to lighten up.

Great pictures!

so smart about the 15 minutes!!! Will be doing the same this trip....

Haha, always smart to set an earlier time than required. I do the same thing!!

Aha, so you admit to being an Everest bell ringer, lol.

Hmmm, I have never noticed the "Big Red" and "Little Red" sign before. I guess it's particularly strange now that the storyline has been dropped.

I just had to chime in to comment on the 15 minutes thing. My mom figured out that in order to ever leave in time, she had to tell my dad 1 HOUR early!!

They have been separated for five years for some reason.... ;)

Good idea telling everyone to be there earlier, you can always count on someone running late!

Love the EE picture, you and your Mom look like you're having a blast@

That's unfortunate that Bob was complaining, but good for you for telling him to lighten up!

Curious to hear about the sunglasses issue that is to come.

Love the pictures from Everest.

Glad your "lighten up" speech worked on Bob. Although I would love to see him wearing a pair of Mickey ears. At least he went along with the pictures even if he wasn't a fan.

Following along! Great photos. We tried Cape May for the first time this trip and I loved the desserts , esp the Creme Brûlée - so good! Look forward to reading more!!

The 15 minute thing worked really well this trip! I was really getting fed up with the comments so I'm glad my little "threat" got him to calm down!

Im loving your pictures.. We leave tomorrow and Im procrastinating packing by reading trip reports. I wish bags packed themselves!

Glad you like them! Have a wonderful trip!

Great start to the day. Love AK. Glad you got Bob to lighten up.

It was a great start and I was so glad when he lightened up a bit.

Great pictures!

so smart about the 15 minutes!!! Will be doing the same this trip....

I highly recommend the 15 minute think, it worked well!

Haha, always smart to set an earlier time than required. I do the same thing!!

It worked well and I will be using it on future trips!

Aha, so you admit to being an Everest bell ringer, lol.

Yep, I admit it! Of course I've only walked through the standby line like two times so I guess I'm not that bad.

Hmmm, I have never noticed the "Big Red" and "Little Red" sign before. I guess it's particularly strange now that the storyline has been dropped.

That was the first time I noticed it too. I'm wondering if they added it later as a tribute to the old version? Or maybe I just wasn't observant before. :confused3

They have been separated for five years for some reason.... ;)

:rotfl: I'm glad my family was only a little bit late!

Good idea telling everyone to be there earlier, you can always count on someone running late!

Yep, there was always someone running late all week. I'll admit I was one of them later in the week!

Love the EE picture, you and your Mom look like you're having a blast@

We both love coasters and always have fun on all the Disney rides!

That's unfortunate that Bob was complaining, but good for you for telling him to lighten up!

I couldn't take it one more minute so I had to say something!

Curious to hear about the sunglasses issue that is to come.

That will be a bit later in the day.

Love the pictures from Everest.

Glad your "lighten up" speech worked on Bob. Although I would love to see him wearing a pair of Mickey ears. At least he went along with the pictures even if he wasn't a fan.

I definitely would have used the Mickey ears if I needed to!

Following along! Great photos. We tried Cape May for the first time this trip and I loved the desserts , esp the Creme Brûlée - so good! Look forward to reading more!!

:welcome: The desserts were good, we just weren't as thrilled as before with the rest of the food.
