Who's Turn Is It To Throw Up Today? A Feb 2014 Wedding TR - New TR link 10/27!!

Joining in, sorry I'm so late! I have to go back and read everything, but I just wanted to make sure I subbed before I forgot! :cool1:

Thanks for joining in! I have a feeling I'm behind on your TR as I've been way too busy at work lately.

Wow, Ariana you pictures are fabulous. I have never seen the Hippos out of the water or the rhino engaged with another animal. Usually the lions are so well hidden I can't really see them.

Glad everyone enjoyed the safari.

We did have a pretty neat safari this time. That's what I love about that ride, it's different every time. I've had some pretty good luck with the Lions the last two trips.

I finally got caught up. Loving all your pics!! The safari was awesome. I take lots of pics, but they don't turn out the best. Dan gets better ones always.

I take waaaaay more than I post, there are a lot that get deleted!

I'm glad you put Bob in his place. Some people don't realize how they're coming off. After all your efforts, you didn't need his negativity!

Yeah, I had had enough that morning. Thank goodness he took it well or it might have made things worse!

I'm late but here! Looks like a good start to your trip. I like reading about all of the new little features!

 Hi, glad you made it!

I am all caught up...phew!

Sorry it was so crazy, busy at the food court (cheerleaders--UGH) and that you missed your FP+ for Great Movie Ride and then stood in line and it broke down.

The start of that day was not the best but at least we were at Disney!

Great pics on R&R and TOT. I love TOT as you know.

I know you do!

I'm glad you are pin trading for other pins besides Pluto.

Me too, I got a little frustrated because there just aren't that many Pluto pins out there. I always feel bad going up to a CM and then not taking one. So now I can trade with more of them!

I love the PP pictures in front of the Tree of Life...those turned out great.

Thanks, I thought they turned out well too.

And, as always, you got great safari pictures.

Thanks!

Just found this one...I'm in!

:welcome: Thanks for following along!

Hi everyone . Sorry I've been away for a while, it's been a crazy couple of weeks at work. I think things are calmed down now so I'm going to try my best to update more often! But before I get to the next installment, I had a DIS meet this weekend to tell you about!

Many of you have probably noticed the wonderful Disney bags I carry while at WDW. They are made by a fellow Disser, D~ (DMGeurts on here). I found out that she would be in Knoxville, TN for a few days and I'm only 3 hours away from there. I wasn't going to pass up the opportunity to meet her so I took the day off yesterday and drove up.

Also joining us were D~'s husband, Oopsi (oopsiDAISY), Liddy (not sure of her DIS name), her daugther and son.

We started off the meet with lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Here we all are:

Afterwards, we just had to do a little shopping at the Disney Store there. Shockingly, I didn't buy one thing.

Oopsi made these adorable Pluto post cards for me:

Thanks again for those! She also brought along a gift for me from another Diser, Cheekypoppins who could not join us. Cheeky likes to give nicknames and since I always eat a bagel and a banana for breakfast at Disney, she calls me Ariana Bagel-nana. So the following gift was very appropriate.

I guess I do eat a lot of bagels because the doggies went absolutely nuts over the bag when I got home.

When we finished with the Safari, we stopped in the store right there in Africa because Bob and Pat were looking for Lion King stuff for one of their grandsons. I figured AK would be the best shot to find something. Mom also stopped and bought a second apple because she said the first one was so good. She wanted a second one to tuck in her bag for later.

The only Lion King merchandise to be found was stuffed animals and they did not what those so we moved on to the one area we had not been yet. It wasn’t Camp Mickey/Minnie. I really wanted to take them to the Lion King show but it was closed and that whole area was walled off. Instead we headed to Dinoland.

We finally found some crowds when we got to Dinosaur. The line was out the door but strangely there was no wait time posted. But John loves this ride and insisted that Bob and Pat ride so we got in line. It turned out to be about a 20 minute wait so not too bad. It gave me a chance to snap a few pictures while we waited.

Also when we were waiting in line, I got a text from Jim telling me he had dropped of the dogs at the “doggie spa” and was on his way to the airport. He continued to text me all afternoon as he made it to the airport and then onto the plane.

As you can see by the ride picture, John was really enjoying the ride. Bob seemed to also and went on a bit afterwards about how well the ride was done. I’m glad John insisted we ride as I probably would have skipped after seeing the line.

There were several CMs with lanyards in the dump shop and I found an awesome Oliver and Company pin to trade for.

It was after 11 am when we were finished with Dinosaur so we headed out of the park to catch a bus to Epcot. I do believe that Bob and Pat enjoyed the couple of hours we spent at AK so I’m glad we talked them into going for a bit.

A bus was waiting at the Epcot stop for us so it wasn’t long before we were heading into our second park of the day. We immediately stopped for some PP pictures. You can tell that the sun was starting to bother Jocelyn, poor thing is squinting pretty badly in these pictures. John tried to talk her into buying a pair of sunglasses but she didn’t want to spend the money when she had a pair back in the room.

Everyone was getting hungry so our next stop was Sunshine Seasons in the Land building. Mom really wanted to eat at Yorkshire Fish in the UK but I felt that Sunshine Seasons was a better choice for a larger group. We all went our separate ways and got our food. John and I were done first and we managed to find quite a few empty tables in the winter section (if you didn’t know, the seating area for Sunshine Seasons is divided into four sections, one for each season). It’s over to the right by LWTL and kind of hidden so it’s usually easier to find tables there.

I got my favorite meal from there, Rotisserie Chicken. I usually comes with rice but I subbed for mashed potatoes.

For Dessert I got Chocolate Mousse Cake.

I did get pictures of everything else although a couple of people got duplicates so there aren’t six separate dishes.

I think both Pat and Jocelyn got the Vegetable Flatbread Sandwich:

Pat got the Strawberry Shortcake that everyone raves about for dessert.

John and Bob both got some kind of Roast Beef sandwich. I can’t find it on any of the online menus. This was Bob’s tray because I remember he got the same dessert as me.

My Mom got the following sandwich, once again I can’t remember exactly what it was. She also got Cheesecake for dessert which was the same thing John and Jocelyn got.

Not too long after we sat down, we spotted Abby, Jordan and Sadie looking for a place to sit. We waved them over and they joined us for lunch. Crazy running into them like that as big as Epcot is! The only thing they had done so far that morning was breakfast at Cape May and a ride on Figment. Guess that’s the way it goes with a 1 ½ year old in Epcot.

The food was wonderful as usual, I think Sunshine Seasons is one of the best CS restaurants in WDW. Everyone said their meal was delicious. After we finished up, we headed back out to get to our first FP+ which was for Spaceship Earth from 1 pm – 2 pm.

As we walked, I couldn’t help but notice the huge lines everywhere for FP+ signup. Here’s one of them that was by the pin store.

And there were at least 5 or 6 of those throughout the park all with similarly long lines. I am so glad I was able to make our FP+ selections ahead of time! I couldn’t imagine wasting park time waiting to make the reservations.

The wait time for SE was about 20 minutes so it was good we had the FP+ since we were on a tight schedule.

And I think I will leave the installment there as I have an entire post worth of pictures from on the ride. Oh, one more artsy picture to leave you with.

Everything is ADORABLE!!! All of you for the Dis meet. then the Dino ride! ADORABLE!!!

Holy cow I cannot believe that line!!!! :scared1:

Sunshine seasons is one of my favorites too...

Yay for the DISMeet! I actually just went to my local Disney Store outlet on Sunday and didn't buy anything either!

Sounds like a good thing you got on Dinosaur even without knowing the wait time, since it was not too long of a wait.

I agree that Sunshine Seasons is a wonderful CS option. I usually eat there for breakfast, which is also super yummy! And funny that you ran into family there when Epcot is such a large park.

:scared1: on those FP+ lines! I'm glad I will be making mine this Friday and will make any changes via the app if I need to!

Sounds like it was a fun Dis-meet!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the morning at AK!

You know, I never knew that fun fact about the Sunshine Seasons seating area! Funny running into more of your party!

Yikes, the FP+ line doesn't look pretty!

Very cool. It's one thing to have a DISmeet in Disney, but having one outside of Disney really proves how awesome this little board really is. :goodvibes

Wow, the Dino ride photo looks so different. Maybe it's the various borders? That's one thing I don't like about the digital ride photos. They seem... off. But maybe it's just me.

I agree. Seasons is easily one of the best CS spots.

Ugh, the FP kiosk lines... Just NO!! I would absolutely hate that.

Yeah for the Dismeet! It is so nice to see your pictures from the meet. Glad you got to go shopping and those Pluto cards are really neat.

Glad everyone got to enjoy Dinosaur. What a great ride picture. I love seeing all the sunshine in Disney. I know it was cold here while you were in the world so I'm happy you guys had some great weather.

Awesome updates!!

Aw man, the sad sad days of FOTLK being closed!!! UGH

Nice Epcot shots!! And nice meals! SS really is the place to eat with larger groups, and with lots of delicious choices! Yay!

Yay for a dismeet!! That's awesome!! :thumbsup2

Fun DISmeet. I had the pleasure of meeting D in August and I'm so glad you got your chance.

I love the Dinosaur ride and you got a great photopass pic on it.

We have eaten breakfast at Sunshine seasons a number of times and I had no idea it was divided into seasons. Is there a sign that tells you which season is in what section? We really need to get back there for lunch.

Nice "artsy" picture.

How nice the Dismeet you all had, they're always so much fun :goodvibes Was this your first time meeting everyone ? Very cool to meet D the creator of all those wonderful Disney bags isn't it ?

Those Pluto postcards will look fantastic all framed together if that's your plan that was very sweet and unique She made them ?

Trip report coming along great as usual and ::yes:: you should get over to some of the photography threads I don't have anything but a point and shoot too but enjoy joining in with PIO, Ed, and some others you " know" Your artsy pic was very nice as so many of your others

What a fantastic DisMeet. How great to be able to take a day off and go meet like-minded friends. Love the Pluto postcards.

Looks like another wonderful morning. I love Sunshine Seasons. The food there is always decent and the variety means that everyone can indulge in something that they want to eat.

Great artsy picture.

My Mom got the following sandwich, once again I can’t remember exactly what it was. She also got Cheesecake for dessert which was the same thing John and Jocelyn got.

This is too funny! I had this exact sandwich at Sunshine Seasons but I took a picture after it was 3/4 done. I have it in the update I am getting ready to post. I should borrow this picture and post it instead. :rotfl:

Your DIS meet looks like so much fun. A couple summers ago we had a Delaware DIS meet and we also met at the Cheescake Factory.

Sounds like a fun time was had by all at Epcot! I'm curious to see how the FP + works for Spaceship Earth.

I've just read your whole trip report so far. It looks like your all having a good time. I'm glad the weather improved your second day.

Everything is ADORABLE!!! All of you for the Dis meet. then the Dino ride! ADORABLE!!!

Thanks!

Holy cow I cannot believe that line!!!! :scared1:

I know, those lines were scary for sure! I am so glad I stay onsite and can book those ahead of time. Every park had lines like that when we were there!

Sunshine seasons is one of my favorites too...

I could probably eat there every trip since there is such variety!

Yay for the DISMeet! I actually just went to my local Disney Store outlet on Sunday and didn't buy anything either!

I've been so disappointed lately by the lack of adult clothing. I wish they would bring some of it back to the stores. I need to go visit my Disney outlet but it's about an hour drive. I might be able to talk Jim into taking me since there is a Lego store there too. ::yes::

Sounds like a good thing you got on Dinosaur even without knowing the wait time, since it was not too long of a wait.

Yeah, when I saw the line out the door I thought for sure we were in for a really long wait but it turned out not too bad.

I agree that Sunshine Seasons is a wonderful CS option. I usually eat there for breakfast, which is also super yummy! And funny that you ran into family there when Epcot is such a large park.

Mom and I did breakfast there on our trip two years ago and it was very good!

:scared1: on those FP+ lines! I'm glad I will be making mine this Friday and will make any changes via the app if I need to!

Yep, I'm not sure why people weren't using the APP more. It is spotty sometimes but I was always able to get it to work eventually.

Sounds like it was a fun Dis-meet!

It was a lot of fun!

I'm glad everyone enjoyed the morning at AK!

I was relieved that Bob and Pat had fun. I wasn't worried about the rest of my family we are all huge animal lovers.

You know, I never knew that fun fact about the Sunshine Seasons seating area! Funny running into more of your party!

Glad I could teach you something new about Disney!

Yikes, the FP+ line doesn't look pretty!

It was definitely not!

Very cool. It's one thing to have a DISmeet in Disney, but having one outside of Disney really proves how awesome this little board really is. :goodvibes

I know, it was a lot of fun spending the day with my DIS friends!

Wow, the Dino ride photo looks so different. Maybe it's the various borders? That's one thing I don't like about the digital ride photos. They seem... off. But maybe it's just me.

I agree they are strange now, it's a lot smaller than it used to be. I have one from 2010 that we purchased and you can see the people much better on it.

I agree. Seasons is easily one of the best CS spots.

Ugh, the FP kiosk lines... Just NO!! I would absolutely hate that.

Me too! I could tell that there was some frustration going on there.

Yeah for the Dismeet! It is so nice to see your pictures from the meet. Glad you got to go shopping and those Pluto cards are really neat.

I loved my Pluto cards from Oopsi! I don't think I will be able to use them because I don't want to give them away. :rotfl: I'm sure they are going to end up in my Pluto collection. ::yes::

Glad everyone got to enjoy Dinosaur. What a great ride picture. I love seeing all the sunshine in Disney. I know it was cold here while you were in the world so I'm happy you guys had some great weather.

It did get a little cooler later in the week but the first day was the only rain we had which was wonderful!

Awesome updates!!

Aw man, the sad sad days of FOTLK being closed!!! UGH

I know. :( I don't have much of an urge to go to AK in May because I don't want to see that area closed again.

Nice Epcot shots!! And nice meals! SS really is the place to eat with larger groups, and with lots of delicious choices! Yay!

Yep, much better to have variety so everyone can find something they like.

Yay for a dismeet!! That's awesome!! :thumbsup2

It was a lot of fun!

Fun DISmeet. I had the pleasure of meeting D in August and I'm so glad you got your chance.

I was so happy to finally meet D~ and the other ladies! Well, Oopsi and I did meet briefly last year when I was in Nashville.

I love the Dinosaur ride and you got a great photopass pic on it.

I like the Dinosaur picture because it's the only one where you can get all of you party in the same picture. I have one from 2010 framed because all eight of us were in the picture.

We have eaten breakfast at Sunshine seasons a number of times and I had no idea it was divided into seasons. Is there a sign that tells you which season is in what section? We really need to get back there for lunch.

No, there's no sign but each area is a different color. For example, the winter section is all done in silver colors. I only knew that because I read it here on the DIS!

Nice "artsy" picture.

Thanks, I have a hard time not taking pictures of SE.

How nice the Dismeet you all had, they're always so much fun :goodvibes Was this your first time meeting everyone ? Very cool to meet D the creator of all those wonderful Disney bags isn't it ?

I meet Oopsi last year when Jim and I went to Nashville last year but all the others were new to me!

Those Pluto postcards will look fantastic all framed together if that's your plan that was very sweet and unique She made them ?

Yep they are homemade. Hmmmm, I didn't think about framing them. That's a good idea I'll have to think about that. I doubt I will be using them because that would mean giving them away. :rotfl:

Trip report coming along great as usual and ::yes:: you should get over to some of the photography threads I don't have anything but a point and shoot too but enjoy joining in with PIO, Ed, and some others you " know" Your artsy pic was very nice as so many of your others

Well, I do get lucky once in a while. :lmao:

What a fantastic DisMeet. How great to be able to take a day off and go meet like-minded friends. Love the Pluto postcards.

I really enjoyed the DIS meet. It's nice to talk Disney without getting looks and eye rolls!

Looks like another wonderful morning. I love Sunshine Seasons. The food there is always decent and the variety means that everyone can indulge in something that they want to eat.

Yeah, there is a lot of great variety at that food court.

Great artsy picture.

Thanks! SE is just so photogenic. ::yes::

This is too funny! I had this exact sandwich at Sunshine Seasons but I took a picture after it was 3/4 done. I have it in the update I am getting ready to post. I should borrow this picture and post it instead. :rotfl:

That is funny. You are very welcome to borrow my picture although I think you already did the update. Haven't made it over there yet today but I did see the title changed.

Your DIS meet looks like so much fun. A couple summers ago we had a Delaware DIS meet and we also met at the Cheescake Factory.

I love the Cheesecake Factory but there isn't one near me in Atlanta. So it was a bonus to get to eat there while meeting up with some great friends!

Sounds like a fun time was had by all at Epcot! I'm curious to see how the FP + works for Spaceship Earth.

FP+ worked really well. The FP entrance is right at the front and you basically walk right up the final ramp.

I've just read your whole trip report so far. It looks like your all having a good time. I'm glad the weather improved your second day.

:welcome: Glad you are enjoying the report!

When we left off, we had just used our first FP+ and were boarding Spaceship Earth.

As we entered the tunnel to start the ride I turned to Mom and told her I liked how the ride smelled. She said, what, the old musty smell? Yep that’s the one. I’m not sure why but even “old and musty” smells good to me at Disney.

My camera does pretty well on this ride so journey with me though the past.

When it came time to build our future, I let Mom do all the picking.

She tried to answer the questions differently than she had in the past and it worked as we got a future different than any we had before.

Mom always gets a kick out of the fact that her neck never fits on her body.

And then this happened:

What the heck is that strange sweater vest thing that I am wearing? I would never get caught in real life wearing something like that! Mom and I about died laughing when we saw it.

Poor Mom and her ill-fitting neck.

Man that sweater is just hideous!

I think that the other four in our group enjoyed their futures too because we could hear them laughing around us. When we exited, Pat decided she wanted to e-mail her video home but the machine she went to wasn’t working well and she gave up halfway through.

While we were doing that, John and Jocelyn had discovered a 3D medical game that they wanted to try. They are both Nuclear Medicine Technicians so a medical game was something that interested them both.

Basically they had to pick up pieces of the body from a conveyor belt and drop them in the right place in the skeletal body. This next picture is a little weird because my camera doesn’t take in 3D.

When they finished we headed out to our next destination which was Test Track. I did not get a FP+ for it because of the tiering system. I choose Soarin’ instead because I figured we could just use the Single Rider line for Test Track. Well that was a bit of a fail, the Standby line was 50 minutes and the Single Rider line was 40 minutes. I’m guessing that I wasn’t the only one that thought using the Single Rider line would be the way to get around the tiering. We discussed the possibility of getting in line any way but no one wanted to wait that long. I mentioned Mission Space because the line was short but Mom described how claustrophobic the ride vehicles are and put a quick end to that thought. John then said he would rather gouge his eyes out than ever ride Ellen again so we turned around and headed back to the other side of the park.

I am LAUGHING SO LOUD here in my office over your new PAWETTY sweater!!! Love argyle!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: Holy Crow that is FUNNY STUFF!!!

:sad2: wow about an hour for test track... just wow

You my dear have a wonderful camera!!!!

The Dismeet was awesome!!! Wish we could do that once a month! :goodvibes But, now bad thing was that the meet has given me case of the Disney blues again this week. :worried:

Our family loves Sunshine Seasons too. I never realized that fun fact about the restaurant being divided into the four sections...makes perfect sense. :thumbsup2

Gabe HATED the Dinosaur ride. This was the only ride he didn't like. He spent the ride tucked into my side. On our ride photo it just looked like there was an empty seat beside me, poor kid. I didn't care for it either, just felt like I would get whiplash from it...kind of how SM makes me feel, too. :rotfl:

Love the Spaceship Earth pics! That vest is too funny!:rotfl2: I agree that the ride has a musty kind of smell, but it's not a bad thing!
