Any other info. you would like to share? - kids and dh second trip to the World. My parents are also going with us. My dd will turn 8 while we are there and is very excited for the MNSSHP.

How did we pick that resort? I picked POR because while both girls have stayed there before, neither of them remember the trip. I love POR and I am hoping they love it too!
Mnsshp? Maybe. We are not getting hoppers this trip, and the night we might do the party we will be at the Animal Kingdom, which closes at 5pm.
So we will either do the party for more park time, or just go back to the resort and enjoy the pool.

Any other info. you would like to share? - This will be our first trip to all the Disney parks (I haven't been to MK for 31 years and my two oldest have only been to AK and Typhoon Lagoon) Youngest DS and DF have never been to Disney. Also this will be my first time on a plane

Amberg - Love the potato head cake idea. My hd is celebrating 40 in Disney but he would kill me if I had a cake sent to our table. Still...I DO LOVE CAKE so who knows.

thanks! wish i could take credit for it...but a friend came up with it...i figured meh, he didnt have a groomscake and this trip is our anny gift to each other, even if it is an early trip...just found out today his leave is for the day we leave(not the nite before when he works til midnight!) and is over the 11th. so they wont let him be here for our actual anny again.

Good morning All! Survived the wedding. The maid of honor dress was a little tight so I think I may need to add working out to my list of things to do to get ready for Disney. Dont need all my shorts being uncomfy on the trip.

MickeyMouseClubhouse - Yes, we planned three character meals this trip. The first for ANY of us so I am excited. We are doing Tusker House breakfast, CRT (I even bought a tiara...I'm so weird) and crystal palace. How about your family?

i was a matron of honour this weekend too! and man that dress was tight! i need to get in better shape for the mouse too!

MNSSHP? - Yes, on the 27th. Look for a gang of 11 pirates!!

How are you filling time until your vacation? - Trying to keep my head above water as a mom, nurse, chauffer, maid, cook, etc.....

Any other info. you would like to share? - First time taking all 5 kids, and I'm a little nervous about keeping everyone between the ages of 2 and 14 happy! Also very thankful to Disney for their ticket offer for military veterans, which is enabling us to make this trip! Thanks Disney!

We've stayed at both POR and WL. I liked the Christmas decorations at WL, but I really like the overall feel of POR. This is totally subjective, but I also thought that the buses at POR were a lot better.

How did you pick your resort - We like the theming at the moderates. We stayed at CBR on our first trip and loved it. They have renovated their pool area and have a great kid's area.
MNSSHP? - I hope so, but we'll get tickets when we get to the park.
How are you filling time until your vacation? - School just started so we are super busy between school, athletics, birthday, etc, etc, etc.
Any other info. you would like to share? - This is our 3rd trip and it's a surprise. The kids are begging to go, because they know we are going to Florida...but we told them we couldn't do it this year.

We are excited about trying a new place. We've stayed at FQ and it was eeh. The pictures I've seen from POR are so pretty. One of these days I'll make my way to a castle facing room at the GF.....but until then.

One of the things I am back and forth about in my planning is an early morning ADR. I saw some of you mention this so thought I would ask for opinions. I have an early ADR for Tusker House and really want to keep it, everything I have heard about that character meal has been fantastic! But I am nervous about rallying the troops so early in the morning. And so many people have told me to just keep the ADR and then play it by ear but I will feel bad if we skip it and someone else misses out on that ADR cause I was indecisive! Any thoughts?!

Oh and funny that the poll is about packing, we were just talking about that this weekend! I told DH no packing on the fly, this trip we are going to make al ist ahead of time so we don't overpack. Wish me luck with that one

I really wanted to do an early morning ADR but didn't know how the family would be with getting up so early after a full day in the park. However...that didn't stop me from trying to get the ressie. There was only one day I thought this would be doable and was unable to get an early time. I say GOD FOR IT and then report back and let us know how it went.

If you get a window seat, it will at least give him something to look at - and you can get up and walk around so he can see that he's not 'boxed up'. I imagine that it's only a single aisle aircraft, so it may be difficult to walk up and down too much but at least he can see there's room. The two hours will fly (pardon the pun) by. Both our kids did their first flights (4 hours) at around 8 months - my DD was also teething, so horror flights are not unknown to me...just remember to take plenty of distractions.

The funny thing is that my son LOVEs planes. We have a small airport by our house that we visit every week and all the pilots and staff know his name (Micah btw). I'm going to hope for the best and prepare for the worst.

How are you filling time until your vacation? - Disboards, following my 2 year old DD around, Halloween/Fall shopping, squirrelling away spending money, Dr appts... fun SAHM stuff.

Any other info. you would like to share? - This is the most laid-back I've ever been about planning a WDW trip. It'll be interesting with my mom there, she's a lot more uptight than we are. But, I have my ADR's made, my MNSSHP tickets, and our Dessert Party reservation. We've been there a crap-ton of times, and it'll be low crowds, so no need for a touring plan. DD has her own seat on the plane...woohoo! The first two trips were harder with her as a lap child. (No flames, please.)

It'll be an adventure... lol.

NO FLAMES FROM ME. If my son misbehaves on the plane I will probably shove him in the overhead luggage compartment! (JK!)

Travel Agent called last night....OUR DISNEY STUFF IS IN!!!!

Now it is starting to seem real. Only thing is I can't go and pick the stuff up until next week b/c the rest of this week is a bust. DH and I leave for Boston first thing tomorrow morning for the Red Sox game and then a little shopping on Saturday. Need to get ready for that so no time to pick up the stuff after work. Ah...so close and yet so far.

So, I noticed a lot of people here are doing the 5K tot run. I have never even heard of that before. Can someone clue me in?
