The Member Cruises are always fairly popular, but I was wondering what the interest level is right now for the 2015 cruise. We're thinking about booking Alaska (cash, not points).

Not looking for a debate on whether people think Member Cruises are a good use of points or $$$. Just looking to see how many people are deciding to participate/not participate.

We are planning on booking the August 2015 Bahamas one! It's perfect because our daughter doesn't go back to school until after Labour Day. Combination of points and cash for us.

We have never been interested in an Alaska cruise...I guess when I think cruise I think tropical :)

We are thinking about booking the Alaska cruise but I am looking for more info about member cruises before booking one

Me too! Like what's the difference (in cost) between booking a Members' cruise and booking a "regular" cruise.

I voted, "No - Interested But Doesn't Fit in Schedule," but my answer is really closer, "No - Interested but these aren't sufficiently compelling." Partly a time conflict but more "lack of draw." They were "interesting enough" for me to open the mailer, read the website but my response to the offerings was extremely "BAH." ;)

Looking at the Alaska cruise. Works because we get out of school May 22, but have to go back Aug 13, so the late August cruise hasn't worked with the school schedule. This one will...

Not sure which answer to select in the poll -- I'm kind of interested in a member cruise, but I don't think the extra cost is worth it. I just booked my first Disney cruise for February 2015, and it is much cheaper than going in the summer or on a member cruise.

I am interested in both, but will only do the summer cruise. We will be on EBTA in May!:goodvibes

Can't wait to hear how your EBTA is. Really thinking about doing that for 2016. Ever notice that every time you take something off the bucket list, another item (or two!) gets added???

:lmao:

We did The Panama Canal cruise this year, westbound. I think "eastbound" was added to the list!

We did 2013 DCL EBTA. It was terrific, and caused us to favor 15 night cruises.

I just bought resale. I know I can't use points to book a cruise (wouldn't want to anyway) but am I still eligible to pay cash and go on a member cruise?

No. If you bought resale after 3/21/11, you aren't eligible to book anything through the Disney Collection. Disney Cruises (and the Member Cruises) fall under this category.

That's not to say that they won't change this policy again in the future...

I am definitely wanting to do one of these next year. Here's the problem...I want to do both of them but WAY too many points needed to even consider that possibility. I don't know which one to pick...such a big problem right??

But I can pay cash and go on a cruise. My question is can I pay cash and go on a member cruise?

No, unless they change their restrictions again. Maybe they won't get the number of members booking that they need, that would make them change the restrictions.

I don't have enough points or cash all at once :(! I booked Dec 2015 out of Galveston

No. You can't use points or cash to go on the member cruise because you aren't eligible to book it. Anyone can book a regular cruise and pay cash for it.

This is one of the reasons I wish that they would announce their plans/pricing a little earlier. Of course, everything is so chaotic now, and the way they have it set up creates a frenzy. Perhaps it would be worse if they gave a bigger lead time. We knew about the rumors for an Alaskan Cruise, so we were waiting to see if it would become fact.

Am interested but the only times we can vacation now (thanks to school schedule, DDs' softball schedule and DH's busy work time) is beginning of August, Thanksgiving or Christmas.
