Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Ohana.... We are going to try dinner there this time.

I could hear angels singing when I read this! :littleangel: WE LOVE OHANA!!! DH actually asked me once if I would like to fly down, eat at Ohana for dinner, and fly back home in the same night! :rotfl:

DisneyNovember2009778.jpg

This is a great picture of your family! Look at that lady in the back... she looks like she is posing for your picture!

We have been to CM (B) and 1900 Park Fare (D) and enjoyed both of them very much! We loved the characters at both of them.

I have learned how to do Disney buffets though (yes, I actually have a strategy ). I go down the line and get a VERY tiny portion (less than a teaspoon) of everything that I think I would like. Then I go back to the table, taste everything and go back and get a regular plate of just the things that were good. I had heard lots of complaints about 1900 PF, so that was my strategy there and it worked great. I found about 5 or so items that I really enjoyed and made a meal off of those. The coq a vin (sp?), a french chicken and potatoes dish, was awesome there!!! I also got a few others things too that were great. After that experience, I do the sampler plate thing at every Disney buffet and it works great.

I've never tried Kona, but it's on my list! I've heard such good things about the Tonga Toast. I think I have read that you can get that at the counter service place at the Poly too. We may do that!

Never tried WCC either, and I don't think we will. It looks like fun, but I've read lots of bad stuff about the food. I was willing to have a less than stellar meal to eat at CRT, but not at WCC. KWIM?

Good Morning -

No Jo yet? She must be getting some much needed rest. Feel Better Jo!

Shelly - how exciting time to get packing

Guess what I discovered yesterday? Give up? Look at my ticker.............along the bottom of my ticker it has a week counter, Mickey is almost to 12 weeks, he should be there on this Wednesday

Hi Sheila! :)

Nope, I haven't heard from Jo yet today at all. :confused3 I hope she's okay!

Funny, I always wondered what those numbers were on the bottom of the ticker!! :upsidedow 12 weeks doesn't sound all that far away, does it?!! :yay:

Shelly - You sure are fast, by time I posted you had added a dining review :rotfl:

We did Chef Mickey's years ago but I can not remember if we did B or D :rotfl:

Have never done 'Ohana or Kona but like you are trying 'Ohana for dinner this trip. I am still considering maybe making an ADR for Kona.

I decided since I may never get to GF to stay there I am breaking my pledge to not go there until I stayed there and booked 1900 Park Fare for breakfast, haven't told DH yet but he likes buffet breakfasts, maybe I should change to GF Cafe? I just do not know what to do. Life would be easier if I had a lil kid to take along :rotfl:

I love the pic of your boys at WCC, they both look so happy it made me smile.

When we stayed at WL before we ate at WCC and enjoyed the food I could do with out the loudnest , that being said at this point I have 3 ADRs there for October.

When JB changed our flight I decided to book lunch there on arrival day.
I made a breakfast ADR for our last day since for now I left that morning "free" to decide once we are there.

And I have one for the night we plan to do MNSSHP, I wanted something around 5 and thought booking WCC would allow us the most rest time before the party that night.

I hope I have not made mistakes:confused3

You should definitely make an ADR for Kona!! :thumbsup2

I haven't heard too much about 1900 PF breakfast. Hopefully it is really good! :wizard:

Maybe you will like WCC. Lots of people do. The food just wasn't for us I guess. :confused3

I hope we love Ohana as much as you do!! ::yes::

I know, DH says he thinks that lady behind us in the Kona picture wants to be in our family!! :lmao:

That's a good idea to sample everything on the buffet. I tend to only go for things I know I will like.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I am willing to have just okay food for a super good experience with the characters or something, but WCC just doesn't cut it.

Hello Everyone!:goodvibes Hope you all had a good weekend!
Jodi- I hope that you are feeling better today! I was thinking of you last night---we switched our January BWV reservation to the GF! We booked a main building-theme park view room! We are SO excited! We last stayed at the GF in 2008, and cannot wait to go back!
Shelly- great dining update! We are looking at more MK resorts for some dining for this upcoming trip, since we are now staying at the GF. I think we might try 1900 Park Fare for dinner!

Hey Lauren! :goodvibes Are you all recovering from your trip??? You aren't into Disney depression mode yet, are you? :scared1: Probably not since you are already busy planning the next trip! :cool1: YAY for the GF!!

1900 PF is such a fun time! I hope the food is good for you guys! :wizard:

Hi Shelly!
We are all recovered, but are missing WDW! However, we don't really have time to go into Disney depression mode, since we are busy planning for January!:rotfl: I am so excited about the GF! How is Jack doing?

Sheila- We love 1900 PF breakfast! It a good buffet, and the characters are fun!:thumbsup2 In fact, I booked it for breakfast in January this morning!

Well that is good to hear!! It's always helpful to have another trip to plan! :thumbsup2

Jack is doing well. The house-training is going much better. We have a bell on the door for him to ring when he needs to go out. So when he does that and goes out and does his business he gets a special treat when he comes in. So he has that all figured out and now he is ringing the bell just to run out and then back in and is expecting a treat. :upsidedow

Got my Disney Mail today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Still waiting on my Magical Express booklet! :goodvibes

So now Jack is even smarter than you hoped! :lmao: You've got yourself a thinking dog! You should train him to do some chores and things. Of course, you might have a 200 lb. dog in return, after all the treats he would get. ;)

Are your boys having more fun playing with him now? I bet they are going to have a ball with him!

Your pics of resort dining are so cute! That's a great family pic at Kona Cafe. And I love the expressions on the boys' faces at WCC - you captured that perfectly! :thumbsup2

My Deluxe dining experiences...........None........OK, that was quick.

Jodi, I hope your absence means you're out shopping or something fun, and not still feeling under the weather.

Yeah, he's pretty smart. Or at least he thinks so. :rotfl: Good grief.

The boys are really enjoying him. DS9 is coming around. He just gets frustrated on the days that Jack seems like more work than fun. He's all about fun and no work.

They did have such a fun time at WCC! Too bad they hardly ate a thing. :upsidedow

I talked to Jodi a little bit ago. She was busy running the kids around all morning and now she's back in bed resting. She's still not feeling great. :sad2:

lala - Oh that is good to hear about the food at 1900 PF. DH will humor me with going to a charater meal(no kids, just us two) as long as his belly gets filled up good. :rotfl:

I have to tell you I am green with envy, the theme park view in the main bldg at GF is my dream of staying at someday

That is so cute about the bell and such a good idea, I hope it works for you. My Bella was a hard one to get to give me a signal when she wanted to go out. Finally one day when I said to her did she want to go out she started wagging her tail very fast. Now she will do what DH calls her poopy dance for him, she starts to prance and bark.

I am really thinking now about changing our breakfast at WCC to Kona

Maybe Sea can answer some questions for us--
Sea--- what's the normal temp in June there? And when does June Gloom disappear? And when do the kids get out of school there? And when do the locals show up in June-- is it mostly on the weekends?????? And the Mariott convention hotel--- I know you've stayed there--- can you walk to DL from there? I'd hate to have to drive it.
(I also have ??'s about Catalina Island..........:cloud9:)

June at DL is about 70-80, July 80-95, Aug 85-100. You have to remember it can be about 10-15 degrees less at the beach. "June Gloom" (fog/marine layer in the morning) usually ends around the 1st week of July. School ends the 1st and 2nd week of June.

Locals (APers) usually show up on the weekends in the late afternoons to check out the live entertainment and shows - there are nearly 1 million APers - thankfully they all don't come out at once. LOL! The Marriot is about 2 long blocks to DL entrance - they have a shuttle that runs back and forth. If you miss the last one, you can take the DL Toy Story Parking Lot shuttle (last one at 1:00 a.m.) and get off there and walk back to the hotel. It is across the street from the TS parking lot.

Catalina is a wonderful place to visit! Check out the boat ride and hotels here: http://catalinaexpress.com/

Hooray for your Mickey Mail! The luggage tags are nice now.

I've got one of those, too. It's a darn good thing he's so sweet because sometimes I'm :furious: at him. ;)

I hate to hear that Jodi still isn't feeling well. Y'all both need to get all the bugs well out of the way before your trips!

Hey everyone---

Just a quick-ish check in with you all.

I'm still in the bed- still sick. I am doing a lot better than yesterday-- no fever or sore throat. If everything would quit turning black when I stand up, I think I'd be almost back to normal.:goodvibes Yeah, I said Almost.:lmao:

Wow!! You both have it all figured out. DH,DD5,DS1, and I will be at WDW from August 18th-August 29th. We can't wait. Enjoy Your Trip!!

Hi and welcome! Hope your trip will be wonderful! Oh yeah- welcome to the DIS as well!:)

Oh no, you're sick!! :scared1: Good grief. How did that happen? Kind of like DS's bronchitis in June. Crazy.

I hope you feel better soon. We've still got lots of planning to do!!

YAY for 39 days!! That must make me at 33!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

What the joke? :lmao::rotfl2:

Taking 2012 off. You're such a funny girl.

We do have planning left to do and this is putting a definite crimp in my style. I'm supposed to be shopping these last few days, not lying in bed.

I'm excited too!! :woohoo: I hope it actually happens!

I hope you get to go too!! :wizard: You are lucky with no time restrictions!

We could definitely do June. We usually get out of school the second Friday of the month. I just want to go when it will be the least crowded!

June would be fab for us too....... except that last night Mark said he wants to take the kids to Yellowstone next summer.

:faint:

Sounds like I might be just hearing about your Cali trip instead of seeing you there. :(
Jo...Hope you feel better today!! Some of the worst times I have been sick have been in the summer!! And my body temp is always high too...when I was a kid, mamma knew I was sick if my temp dropped to 97...then I would spike to over 100.....
Just think...get it over with now!!!!

::yes::
I told Mark this morning that I was so happy that this isn't happening a month from now--
now, if we could just keep him from almost breaking his ankle the day before the trip like the last two times......:rotfl:

There's something nasty going around here right now. DH, the baby, and I skipped church yesterday, because we were all sick. I mostly had it on Saturday, but I had to stay home with the baby yesterday, because he woke up with a fever. Poor kid!
I hardly ever run fevers either. However, my body temperature is usually a touch lower than normal. Unfortunately, my baby boy got his Daddy's genes for sickness, because he gets fevers. Luckily, not very often, and yesterday's went away quickly, but I feel bad for him.

I still get pretty excited about certain things. Sometimes I even jump up and down squealing...:rolleyes1 especially when I'm around my sisters and some of my friends -- they bring it out in me.

Hope you guys are doing better today!:goodvibes

Hope you're feeling better this morning Jodi!!
Thank you! I just looked over at my nightstand and it looks like an infirmary.:lmao:
Good morning. :goodvibes I hope everyone had a great weekend. It was another hot one here. :faint:

How are you feeling today Jodi?

I hope everyone is feeling better at your house Becca. :wizard:

I brought my suitcases up from the basement this weekend and I am ready to pack!!!!!!!!!!:yay:

:faint:

:rolleyes1

:rotfl:

It seems to work well sometimes. And then other times he walks right by it and pees on the floor. :confused3

Poopy dance :lmao:

Oh yes, I vote for Kona for breakfast!!! :thumbsup2

Sea

Thanks for the info Sea!

So is there no sunshine during this June gloom? I'm thinking the temperatures in June sound good. Is DL crowded in June?

Do you know much about the DoubleTree or the Howard Johnson's by DL?

What is a good beach to go to? Huntington? Santa Monica? Laguna? Venice? I think we want to do 4 nights at DL and then 2-3 nights at a beach.....

Hooray for your Mickey Mail! The luggage tags are nice now.

Thanks! :cool1:
I've got one of those, too. It's a darn good thing he's so sweet because sometimes I'm :furious: at him. ;)

I know what you mean. DS9 definitely lacks ambition or something. DH and I joke that he will never move out!! :scared1::rotfl:

Great MK Resort dining Shelly!:goodvibes

Love the pics of the boys- they look like they were loving it- esp the one of DS9 with Minnie. So cute!
Your Kona pic is so cute too, even with the lady who wanted to be part of the fam......
I showed Belle and Drew the pics of the food there and Drew said 'Oh yeah, that's what I'm getting' to the Big Kahuna!:lmao:

We'll see.....;)

LOVE Kona!! ::yes::

Yellowstone??? :faint: Well that's not Disneyland!! Perhaps it should go to a family vote.....:lmao:

IDK if the Cali trip will actually happen or not. I've been gathering lots of info over the past few days and I'm still as confused as ever. :confused3

::yes::
I told Mark this morning that I was so happy that this isn't happening a month from now--

Yes -- definitely be glad it's now and not in a month from now!!! I was thinking we were missing the cold & flu season this time, but maybe not. :scared1:

Mark does know that he is not allowed to run starting oh about Aug 1st, right??? :rotfl:

I packed all of DH's shirts today!!!!!!!!:cool1:

You better get well soon so you can keep up with me!! :yay::rotfl:
