Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

I Googled Florida Water and a lot of things came up. Below is a link showing many uses for Florida Water. Maybe I need to go out and get some. It sounds like a cure-all for everything! It also says it has been used in other countries in spells and rituals. :scared1: :rotfl:

http://www.free-candle-spells.com/2008/02/23/great-uses-for-murray-lanman-florida-water-cologne/

Thanks for the link! Very interesting stuff....
We have all worn socks and sneakers during the dog days of Aug at Disney but your feet do get hot hot hot.

I hate when I really want something and can not find it, for you it is the yellow sundress and for me it is that crop crochet cartigan, I still have not found one and to make matters worse the one I found at Old Navy and was debateing on sold out in my size when I checked back today when I got a coupon code for 20% off, only reason I did not order it was cause of the color , oh well that is what being a procrastinator gets ya............nothing at all :lmao:

 I need to find a pattern and just crochet myself one.

I can not stand it when my feet are hot!! :headache: I doubt I will even put on my tennis shoes once on this trip. But I will bring them just in-case.

I'm sorry you still haven't found your cardigan. Maybe you can make one yourself!! :cool1:

YOUR TICKER STARTS WITH A '1'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

This has been one long behind wait, hasn't it????

WOOHOO :woohoo: YAY my ticker starts with a 1!!! Finally!!

It really has been one long behind wait. But maybe that's just because we have talked about it everyday since like November. ::yes:: :lmao:

Hi Shelly! Kind of quiet around here, isn't it? :bored:

OK.....completely OT, but has this guy

:crutches:

always been around? I happened to see him when scrolling the full smilie list, and I have never seen him before. I hope none of us ever has a need to use him, of course!

I like the flip flops your DH got, but I guess they may not make it to Disney. ;) is it the strap between his toes that bothers him? Maybe he would like (here goes me not being able to describe something) those pool shoes - the rubber kind with the one band across the upper foot. I know Adidas and Nike make them. Do you know what I'm talking about?

I always find that Target has such a good selection of flip flops and sandals. I like the ones your boys picked, too. I've never worn flip flops to Disney in the past, but I think it sure makes sense in the summer if your feet can take the pavement all day. I've always worn running shoes and socks. Not the cutest look, but my feet didn't hurt!

So sorry you didn't find the dress you liked in your size. Maybe you will be able to find it online. And we all know that you really NEED another dress! Sorry, couldn't resist ;-)

OK, I have something else I wanted to tell you and Jo. I went to Walgreen's yesterday and saw something that brought back memories and made me think of y'all. Right up in front of the cosmetics area I saw on one of the endcaps bottles of Florida Water. Have you ever seen/heard of that? It says "cologne" on the bottle, but I don't know if it is actually used as cologne. :confused3 It is sold mainly, I think, as something to keep cool in the heat. When my DS used to play baseball, the team would always have Florida Water in the ice chest. I'll have to ask him exactly what they did with it. I'm pretty sure you put it in ice or the freezer beforehand though. It comes in a 7.5 oz bottle that looks like a whiskey bottle (not that I am familiar with whiskey bottles ;)) but small. Anyway, I wanted to pass that tip on to y'all. I don't know if it's something you could use, since you won't be carrying around an ice chest ;) but maybe you can check it out.

Warning: I know you don't DRINK it, by the way. Just making that clear! :rotfl2:

:crutches: <----- that's Hopalong Assidy. He's new here.

:rotfl2:

Okay I have never heard of Florida water!!!:confused3

I would have thought it was something you drank??

Here's what wikipedia says about it among other things:

Many baseball teams (particularly it seems in the South) use Florida Water as a refresher during the hot summer baseball months by filling a small lunch sized ice chest with water and ice and a few caps of Florida Water. They then soak rags in the tonic and wipe their pulse points and necks with the soaked rags, providing a very cooling effect to the skin and body.

Huh. Who knew?????

LOVE the new flip flops for the guys! Your poor DH... I can see him now flopping around in them trying to get used to the way they feel. Maybe he will grow to love them and not want to wear anything else.

I might have to take Drew over there to see if he likes those flip flops your boys got. He needs new ones too.

Do you want me to check my Target for that dress and bring it or mail it to you??? Let me know....

Morning Jo!

I hope DH can get used to the flip flops, but I don't know if that is going to happen. Does Mark wear them?

You should get Drew to Target and check out the boys flip flops, they have a lot of nice ones.

I am going to check another Target this week and I'll let you know about the dress. Thanks.

Thanks for the link! Very interesting stuff....

WOOHOO :woohoo: YAY my ticker starts with a 1!!! Finally!!

:rotfl2: Yes. Every dang day.

I sure hope this vacation is all we have envisioned and hoped for!:goodvibes

Okay so last night when I said I was jacked on Benadryl......

I had the freakiest WDW dream ever. I won't bore everyone with the details- but you and I were in Epcot and somehow we got separated from the guys-- and people started chasing us thru WS, trying to kill us-- stuff is blowing up in front of us. It was bad- things were catching on fire.
Mark came tearing out of nowhere in my car to get us--- and I turned around and you were shopping in China!!! And I'm like, um, hello-- people are shooting at us- they want us DEAD. And you said Okay hold on I want to get these few things for the boys .:rolleyes1 (it was Pokemon stuff obviously).:lmao:

And so Mark is yelling get in the car-- we'll get it later!!!! and I said oh wait-- MC and Belle wanted to do Pick a pearl -- give me a sec. And I start picking out oysters.

And so then your guys come strolling in, with my girls and Drew right behind them and Mark and your DH start talking about the people chasing you and me and why they wanted to kill just us and no one else. And then the chase was over and we all went to get supper. :faint:

I win for stupidest WDW dream. EVER.:rotfl2:

PS... in the dream you had Belle's new Haricut and oh my gosh it was so freaking cute!!!

hey! I think I will go to Target today. Gotta get my sniff on.;)

:rotfl2:

(For those of you who don't know--- target's bathrooms smell just like the WDW parks b/c they use the same air freshener!!):rotfl2:

Mark does wear flip flops but not too too often. He has some crocs ones that are FL gator designs and he loves those- he wears those in the parks sometimes. I also got him a pair of ... I can't remember the name of them but I got them for him last year on clearance and he likes those ok but if he walks a lot int hem they rub his toe funny. Make sure to take bandaids for the guys and their flip flop damage.

I have to run to get ready to shop till I drop.

Is it time to talk dining yet????popcorn::

ok Jo - You definately get the prize for the stranges WDW dream of all time :lmao:

Reading it made me think of that Hulk Hogan action show that use to be on tv and filmed at Disney mainly Epcot and GF, for the life of me I can not think of the name of the show and we use to record it every week since my youngest DS was a big HH fan. I need to find one of the tapes now to see what the heck the name of the show was.

Shelly - Your ticker looks Great there starting with a "1" !

Time is just flying by so fast.

I searched last night and found quite a few pattens to crochet a crop sweater and even printed one out might look for the materials while I am out today if I have time.

Heading out shortly have to pick up the dogs heartworm meds at the vets and I want to make a Dollar store run.

See You all laters

Oh my gosh!! :lmao: :rotfl2:

That definitely does win for weirdest WDW dream ever!!!!!!!!!!! That is so funny!! Hmm.....I wonder who was trying to kill us? At least we didn't let that get in the way of our shopping. :rotfl:

Just a little warning – this topic could go on for quite a few days (or weeks :rotfl: ). Usually when Jo and I start talking food it gets long winded. Just like our shopping posts! ::yes::

Well that Wiki description of Florida Water sounds very accurate! I wonder if it is even sold outside of the South. I saw it in Walgreen's. If it's not where you live, then it probably won't be up in PA!

It's a different world down here.......;)

Hi Shelly and Jodi!
I've been MIA for the past few days...our last day of school was on Friday and then I took the girls to see Taylor Swift in concert on Saturday night. We had a busy weekend! Now that school (and work) are out for the summer, I will be checking in more often!
Well, I am off to read and get caught up!popcorn::

This just in:

"Benadryl bombings and blowups while buyers, browsing brick-a-brack for the boys in China, before banqueting, but not at a buffet. Film at eleven"

Good Morning!!!

You are right-- I think this topic has the possibility of stretching on for a couple of weeks. We just have too much to say.:rolleyes1

Of course we are never for a loss of words anyway...:rotfl:

That's quite a list you have going there.popcorn::
We both have been to a few of the same places--- I think it will be interesting to give the readers our very differing opinions.;)

I wonder how much $$ we've both spent total on food there.... on second thought- I'm quite sure I don't want to know!

Okay my list is coming up!

Past Dining in WDW:

We have been to a *few* restaurants thru the years while on vacation there.

However, having grown up on the coast of SC where seafood is abundant coupled with us moving around the country, we have had our share of wonderful experiences in restaurants. Sadly, a lot of WDW dining does not fall into that category for us. Most of the places we go to there are places that we just end up going to year after year because our experiences have been “okay” there.
There are always exceptions to the rule and we have had some memorable meals in The World.

With that said, our list of places we’ve dined in the past, many of them numerous times:
(TS= Table Service, CS=Counter Service)

Magic Kingdom-

Liberty Tree Tavern (TS 5x)
Plaza Restaurant (TS 2x)
Columbia Harbor House (CS 6x)
Pecos Bills (CS 4x)
Cosmic Ray’s (CS 4x)
Main Street Bakery (CS 3x)

Epcot—

Future World:
Garden Grill (TS 2x)
Sunshine Seasons (CS 6x)
Electric Umbrella (CS 1x)

World Showcase:
San Angel Inn (TS 6x)
Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (TS 1 x)
Chefs de France (TS 1x)
Nine Dragons (TS 1x)
Le Cellier (TS 5x)
Teppan Edo (TS 1x)
Boulangerie Patisserie (CS 1x)

Disney’s Hollywood Studios—

Brown Derby (TS 1x)
Sci-Fi Drive In (TS 1x)

‘Ohana (TS 1x)

Wilderness Lodge:
Artist Point (TS 1x)
Whispering Canyon Café (TS 2x)

Boardwalk:
Big River Grille (TS 1x)

I think that’s it. It seems that we are creatures of habit, going to the same places over and over again. Will we branch out for this trip? Will we find new favorites? We’ll soon find out!!

ok Jo - You definately get the prize for the stranges WDW dream of all time

See You all laters

I wish I could have seen my face when I woke from that dream. I remember I sat up, looked around and said out loud 'Well that was dumb'.:lmao:
Oh my gosh!!

That definitely does win for weirdest WDW dream ever!!!!!!!!!!! That is so funny!! Hmm.....I wonder who was trying to kill us? At least we didn't let that get in the way of our shopping.

Oh I do want to steal Belle's new haircut!!
I think they wanted us dead b/c we'd shopped too much. Isn't that hysterical? The funniest part to me wasn't us shopping thru the bombs but when your DH casually walked in the store and Mark and he were talking about the people after us like they were discussing sports--not really upset at all. :confused3 And we were still yapping about what we were going to buy-- "Oh look at this, isn't it cute?":lmao:
:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

Well, that had me LOL!! And the two of you shopping through it! OMG!

Jo, you may not want to miss a whole weekend on the PTR again. ;) You had a lot to catch up on!! Were your kids after you to hurry up and get off the computer this morning?

:lmao: I have always had very colorful dreams. But what really set me off I think was we watched The Adjustment Bureau AND Super 8 this weekend. Then I took Benadryl and that was all I needed for a crazy night.:lmao:
Hopalong Assidy! :rotfl:

Well that Wiki description of Florida Water sounds very accurate! I wonder if it is even sold outside of the South. I saw it in Walgreen's. If it's not where you live, then it probably won't be up in PA!

I don't even remember seeing it in SC either??? I have to go to Walgreens now just to see if I can find it.

Okay my list is coming up!

Good morning! :goodvibes

No we are never at a loss for words, that's for sure! :rotfl:

That's quite a list you have going there too! You know it's funny you mentioned wondering how much money we've spent on food at WDW, I had the same thought when I posted my list yesterday!! But you are right, we probably don't even want to know. :faint:

Isn't it funny how WDW tricks you into believing that it's okay to pay $100+ for dinner for a family of 4, when you would normally pay about $40 for something similar at home? :upsidedow

So did you get anything good when you were shopping yesterday? popcorn::

Well...I just typed out a long thing here and have NO clue what I hit but it just vanished!! Dang I hate when I do that!!! Anyway...2 Q's for Jo...First,.where is the Writers Stop?My dh would love to check it out I am sure..but seeing as I don't do coffee, I guess I have never noticed this place! Or maybe I did but didn't realize what it was...Second..have y'all never been to the 50s Prime Time? Holy cow!! You gotta go!! I know that some of the places the food really is eeehhhhh..but we keep going for atmosphere, but we all really love this place!! the Atmosphere really is great, it's very fun and clean, but we do like the food. We usually get the fried chicken...it's HUUUUGE!!! Now that the Brown Derby is 2 credits, it's a no-brainer for us...I tried to get them to go back to the Sci -Fi a couple of times for something different, but nothing doing...you should try it!

Well good lord I know- when we go out at home with all 5 of us it's between $75-100 with tip for just a chain restaurant- which equals $200 at WDW.
They are so sneaky aren't they?? And we will pay it grinning like a mule eating briars.
:scared1:

Oh dear heavens I know you didn't just ask me about my shopping trip yesterday.;)

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

Let's just say yes, I got stuff. Which is mostly going back today. On a happy note---stuff that isn't going back---- Belk had shorts and tops on sale for cheap for Belle!! I also got Drew some shorts there on sale.:cool1:

But ask me about what Mark bought me this weekend which WILL be making the trip to WDW.............:rolleyes1 I might show you a pic.......

even though we ARE into dining now......popcorn:::rolleyes1

Hi Shawna!!

Let's see-- okay Writers stop -- do you know where the entrance to Sci Fi is?? Writers stop is in a little tiny nook almost right next to that. It's tiny but cute and worth it.

And 50's PT--- we've never gone b/c I have always been scared that Belle would be mortified if someone harrassed her over her food. She would end up crying over it and it would be a scene. I know that Drew would love the meatloaf-- it's his fave food. It might be something we check out one day. I can't imagine eating fried chicken in the heat during this trip. I'd end up ill.:lmao: But it does sound really good!!!!!!! It will just have to be on a trip during cooler temps.
