Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Jo- I LOVE my Vera large duffel! I bought it when they sent me a 20% off coupon and there was free shipping. I have it in Lemon Parfait. In the parks, I always carry a VB hipster (the regular one). It is the perfect size...cell phone, wallet, camera, trip journal, lotion, lip gloss....it's just wonderful!

I have so much to catch up on!! :faint:

You guys were a chatty bunch yesterday. That's good!!:goodvibes

Good luck Sheila!! :wizard:

:lmao:

I'm sorry you had a rough time yesterday.
 Thanks Shelly.

Thanks Jodi! :goodvibes I've never worn white sunglasses before. I hope they look okay. And don't leave marks!!

I love my new bag too. I am hoping to get all my clothes in there!! :wizard: Of course all the shoes aren't going to fit too. :rotfl:
I think White sunglasses are cool. I have never owned any but I keep thinking about them... I think I might say to Mark that they will be cooler on my face and I NEED some....:lmao: I wonder if he'd fall for that???:rolleyes1
 I saw that!!

Well, they still don't know that I booked it. I did tell them about it and what all it entailed just to see their reaction and they ask me everyday if I decided to upgrade to it!! :rotfl: I think being able to graze all day on snacks sounds like a dream to them. :cloud9:

So at this point I am trying to keep it a secret, but I don't know how long I'll last! :upsidedow
If you tell the boys, just be prepared to talk about it at least three times a day. My kids still are asking questions..... I hope they don't blow it out of proportion and be disappointed by the time we get there.
I have to tell everyone -- I tested out the dress theory yesterday!! :goodvibes

It was a pretty warm day here - around 85 and very humid. I put this dress on in the morning and wore it all day!!

Winter-Spring2011033.jpg

It was very light and comfortable. I was even playing kickball with the kids last night in it! And I don't even thing I broke a sweat!

Wooooooo hoooooooo It worked!!! Yay!!! I told ya there's nothing like a dress in the heat! And yeah- if you can play kickball you can ride the coasters without showing everyone everything!!

Hi Jo! Oh no, no A/C? You have my deepest sympathies. :sad2: Thank heavens you have downstairs A/C, even though it's a bit crowded and noisy! We had no power for about 10 days after Hurricane Gustav, and there is no way I could have stood it that long in the August/September heat. We evacuated down the street to my sister's house after their power came back on a few days after the storm. Saying that makes me feel guilty now, after all the recent tragic storms. I was very blessed to still have a house without a tree through it.

I hope you can get your A/C back and running today! It sounds like yesterday was a great day for spending at the pool.

It's a shame when people are so grumpy that they can't enjoy what should be a nice outing. And on Father's Day to boot! :sad2:

 for you, too for missing your Daddy. How long has it been since you lost your Dad? My Daddy passed away in 2002, and I still get those teary days, too. I visited the cemetery yesterday and brought him a Father's Day balloon, but I sure do miss him.
Thank the good Lord for AC! I got up this morning and said a prayer of thanks, that's for sure!! ::yes::
My dad died Dec 2000. I'm sorry yours is gone too. I've been having some tough times of late with it-- circumstances arising that have made me deal with grief that I somehow buried when he died. I am doing better now but it's definitely been a rough road.
Aaaaaaaanyway........
;)
So???? Any thoughts or plans on your next trip to WDW?????;):lmao:
:

Okay, well if you go on your walk you are going to leave me here to talk to myself!! :lmao: Jodi went to write up her post for today and never came back. :confused3 I bet it's gonna be a good one!! ::yes:::rotfl:
:lmao:
I know. He asked that when we first sat down in his little cubicle and he came to within $500 of what I told him. 30 minutes later we told him we had another one to go look at and we were leaving. I could tell that got him nervous. Then he asked again -- what can we do to put you in this car today? And I was like -- um yeah, how about that figure I gave you when you asked me that before??? :crazy2:

Eventually he came around to my way of thinking. :rotfl:
I think I would have been tempted to say "Look here munchkin the only way you're gonna get me in that car today is to let me see the the man behind the curtain, Mr Wizard of Oz aka your manager b/c obviously you don't understand what I'm saying and I'm tired of dealing with your dumb behind."

I'm glad he finally got you where you needed to be. Yay for a new car!!:goodvibes
Before I leave you ;) there is one more thing I have been meaning to tell you! Last Saturday (a week ago) I bought myself a new toy! At our camp, we don't have internet, so I am so lost up there without my computer. (I know, that's pathetic) So I have been thinking of how I could work it out to get internet. My Dsis and DBIL just got IPads, which work up there. I looked into a device to plug into my laptop to get internet. Well my GF told me about something she has been looking at. It's a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and it is like an IPad, but smaller and a lot less expensive. (I guess it's similar-I'm not up on the IPad) so we each bought one, and I love it! I tested it out last week at our camp, and I an get on the internet there now! Plus, it is a hotspot device - if I'm using the term correctly  - so it will enable me to get internet access on my laptop as well. Anyway, I'm having fun with it, and now I won't miss a thing on the Dis when we're at the camp!
Don't you just hate feeling disconnected? I always go thru Dis Withdrawals if I can't get on here or some other websites that have nothing to do with WDW and everything to do with the SEC.:goodvibes I wonder if we could seek therapy for it? Congrats on a new toy!!:cool1:
I'm sure it will be a good one!

But I'm thinking that maybe Jodi's knight in shining armor just rode up on his white horse. Translation: the A/C guy just drove up in his white company truck. ;)

Yeah- he rode up waving his wand..... er, sheet of paper that was a humongoid bill.
Blech. Why can't the Knights in Shining armour be real and not make you pay in the end???
'Cause you KNOW that Cinderfreakingrella is still scrubbing those dang floors..... Bless her heart.

I have a funny story , my main reason for going out today was to get rid of all the bottle, we had two bag fulls. We get to BJ's and DH takes one bag out of the car and I look at him and say, there are two bags. He says no there aren't. I said yes there are remember I took a few out of the one bag since it was overflowing and put them in the second bag before you put them in the car. He looks at me and says " I only put one bag in the car, I thought you wanted to leave the other bag" Now why on earth would I want to leave the rest of the bottles ?

I did go back to Target about the dress and they did have it still although it was not on sale today, but after I held it up to myself in the mirror , I just do not like me in yellow so I passed on it. They have some really cute dresses but all sleeveless and I want something with a lil sleeve.

Congrates on the new car Shelly! Car salesmen are the worst! Love your new bag and the fact that it has wheels !!! I am sure you can fit lots in it. Funny you bought white sungrasses, I stopped to look at a white pair today both my other ones are sorta like the second pair you have.

Great to know you found a way to beat the heat when in Disney by wearing dresses :thumbsup2

Sorry the dress didn't work for you. :( And your bottle story...:lmao: Men are so funny sometimes.:confused3
Yeah for having the A/C fixed.

I love all the duffle bags and your messenger bag too. Belle's Mickey purse is adorable. I have a small Vb handbag, I never even thought about looking a VB duffles.

This year will be the first time in ages that I am taking a duffle as a carryon, normally I just grab my backpack and stuff what I can in it. I do have a leather duffle that i used a few times but it is heavy before you put anything into it.

Thanks!:goodvibes I like the VB duffels b/c they don't weigh much at all to start off with. But dang they can get heavy if you put a lot into them!
Which we know we all do....:rotfl2:
Love all the duffels Jo! :)

I kind of wish I had gotten one when you got them on sale. But I really need to have something on wheels. I have had 2 shoulder surgeries, so lugging heavy bags on my shoulders isn't really an option for me.

I bet you and the girls will fit lots of stuff in them!!

I love the messenger bag too. I have been carrying the same bag to the parks for years. I've looked for a new one because mine is very plain, but I just haven't found anything as light & practical as it.

YAY on getting the AC fixed!! :cool1:

Thanks Shelly!
I know we talked about the VB duffels when I got the last order-- I don't know with your shoulder if you could carry them. They really do need wheels... then they'd be perfect!! Besides-- your polka dot pattern is adorably cute and I bet you can get just as much into your bag as the VB. ::yes::

Cute bags Jo! I have the Sittin in a Tree print in another style. I like your taste. :)

awww, thanks so much!:goodvibes
Great updates ladies!
Love the bags Jodi..I love Vera Bradley too! And great purchases Shelly!
So, I think I told Shelly this in a PM a few weeks ago that we are headed to visit my in-laws in Marco Island, FL two weeks from Friday. Well, we have been talking (DH and I), and we are going to do a very last minute, quick vacation to WDW after Marco Island! Once our visit with my in-laws is over, we will drive up to Orlando and seeped three nights at the BWI! This was just decided yesterday, so I have been making ADRs and resort reservations today! And, we are going to postpone our October trip until January. So, lot of Disney talk in my house is happening!
Hope you all had great weekends!
Lauren--- what a great wonderful awesome treat for you guys! I hope you've been able to get all you wanted as far as ADR's go!! I hope you guys have a great time--- how could you not?????:wizard:
Cute bags Jo! I really like them all. I'm a wheelie bag person too though Shelly. It just makes it so much easier when you have multiple bags. But there you go Jo, you can call up VB and tell them that you have an idea for a new line of bags with wheels, and tell them you'll accept Disney Dollars as your commission! :)

I really like your park bag too! I may be in the market for something like that b/c this will be the first time that we will be strollerless at WDW! I really don't even know what I need or want in a bag b/c the stroller basket has pretty much always been our park bag. Sounds like a good excuse for a shopping trip to me???? Can I get a amen?

Hey that's a great idea! Wheels on duffels! Who knew!!:lmao: Are ya listening VB??????????

You know when we had to give up the stroller I sort of panicked b/c like you I ussed it as my carry all. But I have found that it is very nice to not have to worry about running into people with that big thing. I only take what will fit into my bag-- DL, KTTW, Med Ins card, hand sanitizer (germaphobe ) phone, camera, a tiny sunscreen, chapstick and $$ if I think I need it. Most of the time I don't use half of it.

Hi Shelly! I thought I had told you we were going to Marco Island for some reason!
Yes, the girls are coming too and they are so excited! I cannot believe the ADR's we got! We got Yachtsman, Mama Melrose's, and Le Cellier (!) for our dinners! I am so excited! Le Cellier must have been just canceled by someone else. We got a water view room at the BWI. I can't wait! Anything you or Jodi would like me to look out for when I am there?

I don't know of anything I need .... hum. I'll have to think if there's something I want to see....:goodvibes
You got great ADR's!!! That is a sign of great things to come for sure!!:goodvibes

Sorry the dress didn't work for you. :( And your bottle story...:lmao: Men are so funny sometimes.:confused3

Thanks!:goodvibes I like the VB duffels b/c they don't weigh much at all to start off with. But dang they can get heavy if you put a lot into them!
Which we know we all do....:rotfl2:

Good Morning Jo, Shelly and All

I will just keep looking for a dress in a color I like.
You ever what Everbody loves Raymond? I am like his wife, constantly under my breat saying "idiot" :lmao:

I think I am going to look for a VB hipster it would be a lot lighter I think than my fannypack I have. I bought a crossbody bag for the trip last year but have been using it so I am thinking I want something new :)

I just noticed my ticker starts with a 3 !

When we got to Korea I splurged on an iPhone. I LOVE being able to get on the internet whenever I want. I have to be careful though. One of these days I'm going to end up all the way down in Seoul from getting on the subway, surfing the internet, and missing my stop! I haven't tested out the wifi hotspot with my laptop yet, but that will be fun too.

I hate car shopping too. Thus far, we've mostly avoided it, because my grandparents gave us a car when they bought a new one. It has been pretty frustrating though. Since we were moving here, we didn't want to buy a new car, so last year when we had engine trouble we dropped the $4500 to replace it. Strangely enough, a few months ago there was a huge hail storm in the Kansas City area, so the insurance company totaled the car and we're getting an over $5000 settlement, so at least we're getting back all the money we've put into it. We're still trying to keep the car and bring it here though, so we'll see what happens.

Even so, when we get back to the states we're going to have to go car shopping. The new vs. used dilemma drives me crazy, because while I know cars depreciate so quickly (I'm still trying to make DH understand this) usually you can have a few years without problems before you start to have to put more money into it with a new car.
We'll likely go with a used vehicle when we get back, then go back in a few years to get a minivan (new or used?). DH wanted to get one as soon as we got back, but I can't justify it with gas prices being the way that they are. We shouldn't need the extra space for a few years after we go back, so it's better to save the money on gas while we can.

I LOVE my Iphone!! And all those fun little Apps?? :faint: Yesterday I got the one that has all of the WDW menus. So convenient. ::yes::
I'm glad your AC got fixed.

Having Fantasmic everyday has had such a big impact on the crowd calendar, I too have to readjust all my plans. We were not going to see it, but now we are thinking of possibly popping in last-minute if there is still space available. We don't mind standing, but we do mind waiting for the show.

I'm going to have to go car shopping too soon. And for the first time ever, I'll be in the market for a new car... I think. While I understand they depreciate, I also like having the peace of mind of knowing my car should run fine for a few years.
Arrrgh. I think I need to go subscribe to the Crowd calendar to check it out and see what all it's done to it having F every night. I can't imagine why they've done it. It's strange to me.:confused3

Ooh, that's how I got mine too!! Only I think it was on sale, plus I used the coupon and free shipping. I got them for a steal, that's for sure.
I do like my minihipster-- I like that inside the flap is a clear pocket for your ID. The Coach ones I'm looking at don't have that so that is a downside to getting a new one.

Whew! I think I'm caught up!:goodvibes
I will be posting an update today but it will be later--- I'm taking the kids shopping for a bit.. They need new dressy clothes. And shoes. And I might need somehting my own self.:goodvibes Have a good day!

Good Morning Jo, Shelly and All

I just noticed my ticker starts with a 3 !

:banana::banana: Hi Sheila! Banana dudes for three!!!:goodvibes

OMG--- we LOVE Everybody Loves Raymond. We record them all and watch them marathon style!!! Last night we saw the one with the bulldog in it and we all sat looking at our bully and then at that one and awww'ing and look how cute'ing.:happytv:
We think that show is the best show ever and we were so sad when it went off the air. Thank goodness for reruns!

I think You'd like the hipster or even minihipster. It's super light and doesn't dig into you when you have it on.

Okay now I'm going. I'll be back later!

Afternoon everyone

Well I spent the morning at the Playzone with my kids and my nephew. You know -- skating, playing, laser tag, rock walls, video games, etc. :faint: I think I had enough of that place to last me the rest of the summer. :rotfl:

Yes...this is the first time for me for planning a last minute trip! It is kind of stressful, but very exciting. I was freaking out yesterday about the planning, but now that I have my ADR's all set, I think I'm doing okay. We are going to go to MK, EPCOT, and DHS. We will be park hopping.
Yes, if either you or Jodi (or anyone else for that matter) has anything you want me to check out, let me know!

It would be fun and stressful at the same time!! I'm glad you got your ADR's all taken care of. I can't wait to hear all about the trip! :goodvibes
Me too! :rotfl: It's a sickness I tell ya!

::yes::

:lmao:

I think White sunglasses are cool. I have never owned any but I keep thinking about them... I think I might say to Mark that they will be cooler on my face and I NEED some....:lmao: I wonder if he'd fall for that???:rolleyes1

Well if he doesn't you can always tell him I got a pair so you need a pair too! ;)

(It worked for me with CL :rotfl:)

:thumbsup2

Happy First Day of Summer everyone!! :goodvibes

Just a small shopping post today ~ Jewelry!

I don't typically wear a ton of jewelry. Generally I wear my rings and that's about it. And occasionally my Past Present Future diamond necklace DH got me back on our 10th anniversary. That's usually about it. But I did pick up a few necklace & earring sets from Penney's to go with a few of my new dresses:

And here's some Disney jewelry and pins the kids have gotten me over the years ~

And my Pick-a-Pearl necklace I got in November ~

Love your new jewelry! Those will look great with your new clothes! I've never taken any jewelry with me on trips, but I'm debating it this time since we are dressing up one night on the cruise and for one of our WDW ADRs. A dress just seems naked without a necklace, doesn't it? It's just that whole packing light thing again though... but how much room can a few necklaces take up? :rolleyes1 I tell ya though, between all the new clothes, shoes, jewelry, bags, sunglasses, etc., I think you and Jo just need to have a fashion show while you are there! I can see you two now.... catwalking down Main Street! ;)

Anyway, I'm having fun with it, and now I won't miss a thing on the Dis when we're at the camp!

I got a samsung tablet too! And it has been awesome. We don't have internet at our beach house and we're down there most of the summer, so it's been helping me stay connected with my Dis pals!

We did our first trip with no stroller last November. I was really nervous about it and not because I was worried that my DS wouldn't be able to walk, but that I would have to carry all my stuuf (and we usually need sweatshirts because of the time of year). It wasn't too bad. We only had a couple of days that we didn't go back to the room midday and it was fairly warm while we were there. Of course I carried a heavy bag of sweatshirts 3 nights in a row and didn't use them, so the 4th night when I decided not to bring them everyone was chilly!!! I think I will make my DH carry a small backpack this year too and split the load.

Okay now I'm going. I'll be back later!

Oh did not know you had a bull dog. My one gf us to have one, she called him "bull dog" , he was so cute in an ugly sort of way :rotfl: I had not thought about him in ages. :goodvibes

Raymond is on here late night too and I usually turn it on DH is such a goober aka idiot just like Raymond sometimes :lmao:

Shelly, love the new and old jewelry. I buy jewelry and never seem to wear it. I have a few pieces I have bought at Disney and I did have a cute pair of minnie and mickey earings but I gave them to the little girl I use to babysit when she got her ears pierced(since I never did wear them)

I don't have an IPhone, even though it would have worked for getting on the internet at our camp. The reason I haven't joined the smart phone club is that the screen is too small for me to read the print! So I just have a plain old phone for calling and texting. When you get to be a certain *ahem* age, your close-up vision starts to go down the toilet. Reading glasses help, but they give me a headache. The Galaxy tab is small enough to stick in my purse if I want to, but big enough for me to see! It is easy to get so absorbed in surfing that you forget what you're doing! Don't get lost! ;)

Yeah...I'm still young enough to have my near vision. It is frustrating sometimes when a website doesn't have a good Mobile site, but for the most part I like the convenience of carrying the internet around in my pocket.

Good Morning Jo, Shelly and All

I will just keep looking for a dress in a color I like.

I just noticed my ticker starts with a 3 !

We love that show too!! I often compare myself to Raymond's wife. (My MIL might be a little like hers :rolleyes1):rotfl:

Congrats on the ticker starting with a 3!!!

Thank you! :)

You're right, necklaces can't take up all that much room in the luggage!! I just hope I can get them there without them getting tangled. :upsidedow

Oh yes, I think Jodi and I would love that idea -- a fashion show on Main Street. :cloud9:

Shelly, love the new and old jewelry. I buy jewelry and never seem to wear it. I have a few pieces I have bought at Disney and I did have a cute pair of minnie and mickey earings but I gave them to the little girl I use to babysit when she got her ears pierced(since I never did wear them)

Thanks Sheila! :goodvibes

Aw that was sweet of you to give your earrings away.

The Mickey head earrings in the picture are getting pretty old. I think I just might need a new pair!

I wouldn't buy an old clunker from Billy Bob's Low, Low Prices! lot  But I think there are great deals to be had at reputable dealerships on late model (1 or 2 years old), low mileage cars that still have a couple of years of factory warranty remaining. Having said all that, I did buy new last time. ;) But I wouldn't rule out used! Especially on a make like Toyota or Honda that typically run for years and years.

Yeah, but I'm always scared the used car dealer, no matter how reputable, might sell me a car with a hidden problem. And I wonder why would someone be getting rid of a perfectly good car after just 1 year?

Sorry, thread hijack. :upsidedow

Nice jewelry. I'm really not good at matching my jewelry with my clothes, hence why I never wear any. :rotfl:

Good morning everyone!
I tell you the truth – I love when the kids are home for the summer but man they are a lot of work! Always having to entertain them and never enough time for Dis’ing. The nerve of the them, wanting to shop and play. :rotfl:

So here is my post from yesterday. I am now officially a day behind since I just wrote this up. Forgive me!

Jewelry-
While I don’t like to travel with a lot of jewelry, I do like to buy it. ::yes:: I just usually don’t get much when we are actually at Disney World. I have no idea why?

Most recently I attended a home jewelry party at a friend’s house where she talked me into buying a couple of things. It wasn’t too hard- I like big chunky necklaces and they had plenty to choose from! I plan on taking these with me to WDW:

Necklace:

Medallion:

A couple of trips ago Mark bought me this Mickey Mouse necklace:
mmnecklace.jpg

I really love it; it’s small and dainty and looks good with almost anything. I usually wear it every day in the parks. I have to force myself not to wear it at home b/c I don’t want it messed up.

And finally a pair of earrings that I also got from the home party-
earrings.jpg

I like to wear hoops and these are nice b/c they are big enough for me to wear them alone without anything else to go with them.

Other than that, I don’t plan on taking a whole lot else. Probably a couple more earrings but no other necklaces for dinners and such.

I think this trip I will be on the lookout for earrings to match my Mickey necklace… I’m already compiling my shopping list!!! :rotfl:

Afternoon everyone

Well I spent the morning at the Playzone with my kids and my nephew. You know -- skating, playing, laser tag, rock walls, video games, etc. :faint: I think I had enough of that place to last me the rest of the summer. :rotfl:

Okay well it's one thing to take your own kids to a place like that-- but you took your DN too? You get the award for best Aunt!:rotfl: I avoid those places with my own kids like the plague!:rotfl2: I always want to cause bodily harm to snot nosed jerky brats who end up making one of my kids cry. Usually Belle. ugh. You should be sainted for going so early in the summer season!:lmao:

Those boys-- you're tormenting them with thoughts of *All you can eat* pastries.....:scared1::lmao: you'd better tell them.

Love your jewelry Shelly! :goodvibes Those necklaces will go with almost everything you've bought, I think. Good choices!! The first one looks a lot like a necklace my friend bought at the home party. Really pretty. :lovestruc

I think we need to meet on Main Street to shop, not do a fashion show. We both need new MM earrings!!:lmao: (And maybe a few more items.):lmao:
