Who's Gonna Have More Fun? Two PTR's for the Price of One!

Good morning! :goodvibes

We had a nice day. How about you guys? We were going to Cabela's but that ended up getting cancelled since we went car shopping Saturday night. So we went to brunch yesterday and then just hung around here.

Yes, I am very pleased about Fantasmic showing every night again! But now I have to look over my plans. AGAIN. :scared1:

Car shopping!!!!!popcorn:: Do tell!!!!!!!!:cool1:

We went to the pool after going to Mimi's Cafe for brunch. I have never seen more grumpy men in all my life congregated in one place. One table next to us, the wife and Dh I thought were going to come to blows. She was gritting her teeth and speaking loudly that he surely didn't need to come, just b/c it was Father's day and her MOTHER was nice enough to pay for IT....
then on the way out there was another man and woman with a newborn with a buzzer, waiting on a table and he was exclaiming loudly that he couldn't believe they were having to do this... ALLLLLLLLLLL over breakfast.:headache:
I'm thinking, good night the grumps are out full force.

Anyway- then we went to the pool all day. It was either be hot at home or hot at the pool.
The repair people can't come to even look at the AC until tomorrow. Oh well.

Good Morning Jo and All

Sorry to hear your A/C went out , nothing worse than trying to sleep when your hot.

So sorry to hear about your losing your dad Jo. I lost my father when I was only two so I never really knew him but last year and this year I found myself walking on eggshells around DH, I wanted to suggest we go out to eat to just get away from the memories since we all use to gather together but he just wanted to be alone it seemed.

Getting ready to head out to the store, have a ton of bottles and cans to take back and I am thinking I might just go see if the dress I saw Saturday is still there, I should have bought it then. I always do this :headache Have a good day everyone!:

I hope your DH has a better day today. It's always so tough- Birthdays, holidays, anniversaries.... just tough.
I always feel like I'm ready to just skip those days all together, and wake to find I've slept thru it.
:guilty:

Okay well now, you have to tell me and Shelly what the new dress is like and where you're getting it b/c we are looking for yellow sundresses!! I hope they still have your size....:wizard:

Well I just have a brief shopping post for you this morning!

Here's my new carry-on bag. I hope to squeeze a lot of stuff into it! I got it at Totes & Sunglass store.

We usually check 3 bags total and carry on one bag each. My goal is to only check 1 or 2 bags this time since the price has gone up.

Wish me luck! :wizard:

Here are my new sunglasses I got yesterday.

These next 2 I already had. I really like the way the brown ones look on, but they leave marks where they rest on the top of my nose when I take them off and it is irritating! :headache: The other ones are super comfortable, but not that great looking.

That is awesome about F! I hope both of you can see it now without all the crowd drama. We didn't go there on our last trip b/c I knew I couldn't handle that kind of crowd. I will be VERY curious to see if it is extended beyond September. I love that show and really want to see it again. Although that will cause me to be changing things around too!

Jo, that stinks about your A/C. Hmmm, seems like there is something going on that is trying to prepare you and Shelly for the summer heat in Florida!

I wonder why they are showing it so often in the summer???? It's weird.
I hope everyone goes a different night than me...

You're right--- the AC gods are trying to prepare us for FL!!:rotfl2:

SHELLY!!!!!!! I love those white sunglasses! You are going to be very chic in them!!!!!!:lovestruc
Don't you hate it when sunglasses leave marks when you wear them???

And you know I love that bag. I love that it has wheels and you can pull the sucker. And of course it has polka dots. Cute cute cute!! I think you can get a ton in there--- all of your dresses at least!! ::yes::

Yay!!!! :yay:

Okay, well after going with the intentions of 'just looking', two hours later we left in a new Explorer!! :upsidedow Well not new by any means, but newer than my blazer was!

And then we had to go to Toys R Us because the kids informed us how well behaved they were for that whole torturous time. :faint: :lmao:

Sounds like your DH had a nice day yesterday. Well other than all the grumps!

Tomorrow??? :mad:How hot is it going to be there today?

Thanks Jodi! :goodvibes I've never worn white sunglasses before. I hope they look okay. And don't leave marks!!

I love my new bag too. I am hoping to get all my clothes in there!! :wizard: Of course all the shoes aren't going to fit too. :rotfl:

Good Morning all! :sunny:

Shelly - Congrats on the new car! :thumbsup2 You know what Dave Ramsey (the money guy from radio/TV/books) says-the dumbest thing to do is buy a brand new vehicle, since they depreciate so much the minute you drive them off the lot. Of course, that didn't stop me when I got my last car. I wanted "new". ;) But that has to do more with my OCD about cleaning and the new car smell. The best deal we ever got was when we bought my DS his first vehicle (which by law in Louisiana has to be a pick-up truck.) We got a truck less than a year old with hardly any miles for a great price. He still has that truck, and it has been a great vehicle. The only reason he might want something else is because of the gas mileage and one other little thing - there is a funny bumper sticker I've seen before - "Yes, I drive a truck, and no, I am not helping you move" :rotfl2: -

So now, the most important question - what color is it?

I love your new sunglasses and carry-on bag! Those rolling bags are so great. You must be Totes & Sunglasses favorite customer! ;) You should buy stock in that place!

Thanks Teri! :goodvibes I hate HATE hate buying vehicles. I think it's the money conscience cheapness in me or something. :confused3 Vehicles are just not an investment. Like you said they depreciate so fast and that just irritates me!! :headache: At least when you buy a house you know you can get your money back out of it. When you buy a car you are kissing that money good-bye!!

That is a hilarious bumper sticker!! :lmao:

The Explorer is blue with charcoal gray on the bottom. Not my first color choice, but it looks nice.

Yes, ever since I discovered the Totes store last summer I have been in there quite a bit. I went in one day last week and the kids were like -- AGAIN??? :upsidedow:laughing: But lucky for them they didn't have any new shoes since the last time we were there and the trip was brief! :rotfl:

Well geez, I didn't think my post went through the first time, and here it is again! I didn't think it was so important that I had to post it twice. :-O So here is a question I meant to ask you earlier......

Are y'all still keeping CL a surprise from the boys?

 I saw that!!

Well, they still don't know that I booked it. I did tell them about it and what all it entailed just to see their reaction and they ask me everyday if I decided to upgrade to it!! :rotfl: I think being able to graze all day on snacks sounds like a dream to them. :cloud9:

So at this point I am trying to keep it a secret, but I don't know how long I'll last! :upsidedow

My DH hates car-shopping just like you do. I don't like it, but since it means I am getting something new, I can tolerate it. But I do hate it when the salesman gets you into that little cubicle to discusss the price. If they would just tell you the bottom line price instead of all that "let me go talk to my manager" stuff. We have had to bite our lip to keep from laughing sometimes when it gets so absurd. You just know exactly what their next line is going to be.

The blue/gray color sounds nice to me! I usually like the more subtle colors when it comes to buying a vehicle.

Yes, having a truck makes you everyone's best friend on moving day. DS doesn't really mind helping his friends, but with gas prices the way they are he doesn't like to do a lot of unnecessary driving. And it always seems to be in the blazing heat when he is asked to help. :scared:

Is Totes & Sunglasses a chain store you would find in a mall? The only shop I can recall that is mostly sunglasses is the Sunglass Hut. But I don't think they sell shoes and probably not bags, either.

I have to tell everyone -- I tested out the dress theory yesterday!! :goodvibes

It was a pretty warm day here - around 85 and very humid. I put this dress on in the morning and wore it all day!!

Winter-Spring2011033.jpg

It was very light and comfortable. I was even playing kickball with the kids last night in it! And I don't even think I broke a sweat!

Good Morning everyone!

I hope you all had a great weekend! We've had a HOT one-- our A/C upstairs went out at 5 pm on friday.... why is it that it always goes out over the weekend???? Anyway-- we've all been sleeping all over the downstairs on air mattresses and such, listening to the Bulldog snore... Fun times right there.:lmao:

Sheila-- I just wanted to give you a big hug..... Father's Day is always very tough on me, having lost my Daddy. I know it's not the same as what you are experiencing, but I wanted you to know that I thought about you guys yesterday when I was having a little bit of trouble myself. I hope you are doing better today.

Hi Jo! :wave2: Oh no, no A/C? You have my deepest sympathies. :sad2: Thank heavens you have downstairs A/C, even though it's a bit crowded and noisy! We had no power for about 10 days after Hurricane Gustav, and there is no way I could have stood it that long in the August/September heat. We evacuated down the street ;) to my sister's house after their power came back on a few days after the storm. Saying that makes me feel guilty now, after all the recent tragic storms. I was very blessed to still have a house without a tree through it.

I hope you can get your A/C back and running today! It sounds like yesterday was a great day for spending at the pool.

It's a shame when people are so grumpy that they can't enjoy what should be a nice outing. And on Father's Day to boot! :sad2:

 for you, too for missing your Daddy. How long has it been since you lost your Dad? My Daddy passed away in 2002, and I still get those teary days, too. I visited the cemetery yesterday and brought him a Father's Day balloon, but I sure do miss him.

I know, it's ridiculous. Actually the salesman we had Saturday wasn't that bad. I mean he still gave us the -- what can we do to put you in this car today crap. :rotfl: But we've had worse. Once he started to understand that what I told him the first time he asked was what I was sticking to, we were doing business! Good grief.:laughing:

Yeah, the Totes store I go to is in an outlet mall. They sell luggage, sunglasses, flip flips, crocs, umbrellas, rain coats, travel accessories, etc. It's a pretty neat place.

There is a Sunglass Hut at that mall too, but it is pretty expensive!

The dress theory......:lmao: I love a good science experiment!

Hey, I'm about to go for a walk in a little while. Maybe I should test the theory out down here! Oh, that would look attractive - a dress with tennis shoes and socks. I would probably get some strange looks. And I don't have any cute, cool sundresses, so I guess it will have to be shorts as usual.

Well, if you can play kickball in a dress, then you should have no problem climbing in and out of the rides at Disney!

Yeah, this was my kind of science experiment.

You should try it on your walk just to see how many stares you get!! :rotfl:

Well that's true -- if I can play ball in it I should be able to ride a few thrill rides! :thumbsup2

Okay, well if you go on your walk you are going to leave me here to talk to myself!! :lmao: Jodi went to write up her post for today and never came back. :confused3 I bet it's gonna be a good one!! ::yes:::rotfl:

How could I forget that line! :rotfl: That's a classic!

I know. He asked that when we first sat down in his little cubicle and he came to within $500 of what I told him. 30 minutes later we told him we had another one to go look at and we were leaving. I could tell that got him nervous. Then he asked again -- what can we do to put you in this car today? And I was like -- um yeah, how about that figure I gave you when you asked me that before??? :crazy2:

Eventually he came around to my way of thinking. :rotfl:

Before I leave you ;) there is one more thing I have been meaning to tell you! Last Saturday (a week ago) I bought myself a new toy! At our camp, we don't have internet, so I am so lost up there without my computer. (I know, that's pathetic) So I have been thinking of how I could work it out to get internet. My Dsis and DBIL just got IPads, which work up there. I looked into a device to plug into my laptop to get internet. Well my GF told me about something she has been looking at. It's a Samsung Galaxy Tablet, and it is like an IPad, but smaller and a lot less expensive. (I guess it's similar-I'm not up on the IPad) so we each bought one, and I love it! I tested it out last week at our camp, and I an get on the internet there now! Plus, it is a hotspot device - if I'm using the term correctly  - so it will enable me to get internet access on my laptop as well. Anyway, I'm having fun with it, and now I won't miss a thing on the Dis when we're at the camp!

I'm sure it will be a good one!

But I'm thinking that maybe Jodi's knight in shining armor just rode up on his white horse. Translation: the A/C guy just drove up in his white company truck. ;)
