This isn't something new though, right? We were there last year Oct 2-8 and it didn't get crowded until the weekend (by that time we were thankfully hightailing it outta there). :cool1:

I don't know. I remember reading that most of them were in the middle of the month, ending just before we get there. Our own school district has a really strange schedule, it's very different from most of the others around here, unfortunately :guilty: . So, I'm always interested to see what other districts do.

We haven't been to DW this early in the fall before, so I'm curious to see what the crowds will be like.

I saw a lot of you were waiting on school calendars to make final plans - ours came out last week and we got a great surprise - they are adding an extra day to our October fall break - so my kids will only miss 2 days of school instead of 3!

We're going October 8-15 -

Our district hasn't released the new calendar yet because last year they sent it home and then they ended up changing some of the dates. They didn't do a good job of notifying people of this (as in, they didn't send the corrected one home until school started :rolleyes2) and it caused a lot of problems!

So, this year they're going over it again and again before they send it home.

My DH and I are going from October 28 through November 1st, staying at the Boardwalk Villas.

Only 8 months to go ;)

Heres my dilemma, I had planned to go in November but the Dh pointed out that we should go October 3rd thru the 9th because we have no daycare that week.... Makes sense right?

Well im SOOOO concerned about the weather i mean, Hurricane season is before then and if i remember right there was a hurricane the last week of Sept last year? :sad2:

Someone help me im worried about weather, im going with my DD (3) and Dh and over the weekend my bro, sis in law and there children will meet us....
i want it to be SPECTACULAR because its the first REALLL big family vacation and its my DD and DH first time (will be like my first because i was 31 weeks pregnant when i went for the first time)

Should i go in October or go November 8-13th :confused3

I think I read in another thread that a lot of schools have their fall breaks in the beginning to middle of October. Maybe that's one of the reasons?

We have two days off every October for teachers conventions in Minnesota. It falls in the 3rd week. It's not exactly a fall break, but a lot of people do use that for vacation, so the kids miss less school.

Anybody bored enough to make an October list??? I am so bad at that stuff. Someone made a great spreadsheet last year for October.

What did it have on it? Board names and dates, I'm guessing. Did it have the hotels too? Or other info?

DD's school is out for a Professional Developement day on the 19th and then Fall Break on the 20th and 21st. She only has 2 days that week so she wont miss much. The only problem is that if DD has Fall Break that week, how many other schools (escpecially in Florida) have the same week for the same thing?

It had our screen names, dates and hotels. Each hotel had a section on the spreadsheet, then it was sorted by date under each hotel. It must have taken a lot of work!! It was very nice though.
It also had an asterisk next to each name on the day they were doing MNSSHP. I will look and see if I still have it. I don't think I do.

I can set that up if everybody would like? I won't have much time until Friday, but it shouldn't take too long.

school dates just released, so looks like we will do Oct 15 thru 22, not sure what to do about where to stay.......
2 rooms at POP or 1 room wing room at CR will wait and see what happens about the codes.

That would be wonderful! I looked, but I didn't keep a copy of the one from last year.

I noticed your line about dh wanting to stay in the Tower since he was a kid. That is totally me, I have always wanted to as well, but have yet to do so. One of these years, I'm going to stay a day or two there in addition to my Boardwalk stay!

We stayed in the garden wing a couple of years ago (it was too late to get into the tower) and it was wonderful, but this trip, he said "nothing but the Tower!". :) The kids and I are excited too. The Boardwalk is one we want to try also, along with Wilderness Lodge. My neighbors stayed at the BW and loved it.

Were going October 8 - 15. It will be our first time staying at PORS. Its my DS second trip, but it will feel like his first since he was only 2 the first time. I have to say I'm mostly looking forward to TOT. I would really l like to try MNSSHP.

I’m planning a surprise birthday trip for my son for October 2-5. His 14th birthday is October 5. :cool1:

Our schools should be closed for two days that week (Rosh Hashanah) so my son will only miss one of school.

I'm looking forward to MNSSHP on the 4th and the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot. Where can I find more information about F&W?

This sounds like a great time to do the eat and drink around the world thing. :mickeybar :drinking1

Well maybe I'll see some of you all there! I interviewed recently to do the Disney College Program and I'm praying I get accepted. If I do, I get to change my countdown because I'll be leaving in August and be there through early January! :smooth: I'd really love to be there for MNSSHP because I've never experienced it before. Here's to hoping I run into some fellow Dis'ers if I get in!

Count us in! We're going down with my parents and brothers and sister and her family. There will be 15 of us and we're renting a house. We'll be there Oct 7th-16th. We'll be at MNSSHP on either the 11th or the 13th.

You won't be able to miss us....we'll be the only group complete with Peter Pan, Tink, Captain Hook, Smee, Wendy, Michael, John, Tiger Lily, and assorted pirates and lost "boys"!!!!! :cool1:

Can't wait!!!!!!
