Who's been in Nov?

I know it's a little early but I'm going to start planning for Nov 2010 and go for the Christmas Party.

Couple questions......

How's the weather in the middle of Nov? Warm enough to swim? What about at night, does it get cold enough for jackets?


What about crowd levels the first week the Christmas festivities are out?


The party looks like it's from 7-12, is it more crowded then compared to earlier in the day?


I have thousands more questions I'll ask in the next 452 days I'm sure.....

We have been in WDW 1st week of Nov a few times. I've never done the MVMCP so I can't answer that part.
For weather, it may be cool. I would def bring a pair of long pants and sweatshirt just in case. On our last Nov trip we kept watching the weather to wait for a warm enough day to swim (over 80 for us wimps...) and finally one day the forecast was for 82 and that's was the nicest day. Other days in mid 70's. Very nice for park touring but not so great for swimming/water parks.

We went last Thanksgiving and are going again this Thanksgiving. I love October and November for the weather. You do have to prepare for anything which means extra luggage. Jeans, shorts, sweatshirts and tshirts. Jacket for evenings is a must, even in October.

Yes, it is warm enough to swim and all of the pools are heated also. DD went swimming every afternoon.

Never been to the Christmas Party as they don't hold it during Thanksgiving week, but we have been to the Halloween Party and had a blast.

This will be my 3rd or 4th November trip (Thanksgiving week)

We swim during the day, but in the evening it's a little cooler.

I think each time we went in November - temps were 70s-80s during the day, but 50s-60s in the evening

I needed a sweatshirt at night, but during the day shorts and a t-shirt were fine

I'm from NJ, so we LOVED the weather...and was funny to see locals with jackets, while people traveling from cooler climates were in shorts - I REALLY noticed it waiting for the trams at the park - the different things people were wearing.

How busy is it during Thanksgiving? Hubby and I and another couple thinking about going this year....

for us, it felt less crowded the days before Thanksgiving...and we noticed it picked up Thanksgiving weekend (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)

One year we LEFT Thanksgiving day and those few days before were lovely.

I've been in Feb, Nov and summer a couple times -

Feb always least crowded, then November, than summer is just plain crazy busy

Get up early, do your favorites before it gets crowded, and the crowds will not bother you as much

Honestly, every day at Disney is pretty darn busy -- but when you've seen it FULL, you appreciate what "quiet" means. Even on quiet days, it's pretty busy compared to most other tourist spots.

We were there Thanksgiving 2007. The weather was nice. Shorts and t- shirts in the day and sweat shirt at night like the PP said. we were swimming in the day. It never really got cold that time. I always needed a jacket at dinner and at night and early in the morning. The crowd is a mob. In our Photopass photos there was a sea of people for the background. We went to MVMCP in2002 and we almost froze.

We arrived on a Wednesday and the wait for Soarin' was 15mins in the middle of the afternoon but as the weekend approached it jumped to 120mins and more and then finally the 1st of the week it was 180 mins. The week of Thanksgiving is the 2nd busiest week next to Christmas. We actually wen to the MK to have Thanksgiving and it was so crazy we turned right around and left, we ended up going to the Poly and had dinner at Ohana's it was wonderful. If you can go the week before and the crowds will be minimal.

We had a similar experience going the week after TG once. Though it's hard to compare. That year was 2001 and no one was traveling. Ds, then 4, and I had the whole Splash Mountain boat to ourselves. When the ride ended, no one else was in line so they let us ride again. It was our 1st time on SM so I got to take plenty of pictures. Sad time for our country but I still kick myself that we didn't stay longer. Our kids weren't even in school yet.

My family and I went to Disney for a quick weekend vacation last November. The crowds were light at the Magic Kingdom, we got on everything with only about a 25 minute wait for the big rides. We also stayed on property so we had EMHs for Magic Kingdom. The park closed at 11 and my brother and I stayed until 1 in the morning!! There were virtually NO lines whatsoever (except for about a 30 minute line for SM around 11:30). There was NO one in line for Splash Mountain and Thunder Mountain and we got on both twice. A cool thing that happened was that when we rode Splash, when we came back to the station, the ride attendant said that since no one was in line we could stay in the log and ride again!!!
About 5:00pm my brother and I took the monorail to EPCOT. The lines were okay there. SE was only 10 minutes, MS was only 5 minutes and single rider for TT was 20 minutes. Soarin' was too long so we didn't do that.
Now the weather was a little chilly in the morning, but quickly got warmer during the day. When night fell, the weather got chilly again, but only cold enough for a light jacket.
When my family and I went to DHS the next day, the weather was the same as the day before. However, the lines here and the crowds were much bigger than at MK!! The line for TSM was over 100 minutes by noon with all the FPs gone!!! TOT was only about 30 minutes and RnR was 45 minutes. We were lucky enough to be at DHS during the night EMHs so my bro and I stayed until 11pm. TSM wait time was stated as 100 minutes, but we got on in about 30 minutes!!! TOT had no wait, RnR had about 25 minute line.
Sorry for rambling but, long story short, the lines are manageable, the weather was a little chilly, and we all had a great time.

We did the last week of May into the first week of June last year and this one. As much as I don't want to push the trip back any more then need be, I'm thinking November is sounding good! We're also dying to see the Christmas lights on the castle so I think it's going to be November!

Enjoy your November trip! I see you're from PA..I've over in NJ, and for us the November weather in Florida is a DELIGHT! Oh - we noticed quieter pools too! While we were swimming....many southerner's were walking by with jackets on - and I'm sure it explains why the pools were much quieter than in the summer.

The weather can be very variable. When I went the first week of November we had a day in the 90's and an evening that dipped to 40. I'd keep an eye on the extended forecast and pack accordingly. Make sure you pack a sweatshirt or light jacket just in case.

We stopped going the week of Thanksgiving a few years ago. It's CRAZY busy starting on Thanksgiving day and through the weekend.

I do like the temperature in November. Hardly any humidity, but it has gotten downright cold at night. They sold out of gloves one year!
