Who will be watching the season finale of The Sopranos tonight? (spoilers)

I loved it! I thought it was hysterical that Jimmy Petrille(the rat) took down Johhny Sack.

Wasn't surprised at all that Tony took out Tony B, afterall he was willing to give him up if it was going to be done quickly, he didn't say no till Johnny Sack brought up the torture. And Tony B's death was quick. ;)

Loved Tony walking home through the snow, too funny.

I guess something about a Sapranos season ending on a funny note does not seem right to me.

Good example of different strokes for different folks.

Figment22 don't feel bad at all!

I'm in the UK and I wouldn't expect there to be a spoiler message on a show already airing in the US:tongue:

The last I heard Gandolfini was refusing to film the new series until he had more money (in line with the director I think).I didn't even find out that a new series was filmed let alone airing already until this thread:rolleyes:

I am SO looking forward to this coming to the UK now:hyper:

Honestly.... I thought it sucked. I have been so disappointed in the entire season (with the exception of the second to last episode).

I also thought the episode was lacking - I expected Tony B to get wacked - big deal.

I am disapointed that there is no real cliff hanger - oh well.

The Sopranos isn't known for it's cliffhangers. The show always ends this way.

I thought it was a good episode, not great. I would have preferred to see Tony and crew solve their own problems, but instead they fell into a solution courtesy of the FBI. Not quite the confrontation I was hoping for.

The very end was awesome, IMHO. Remember, they showed the bear coming into the backyard through the bushes a few times this year. And this time it was the big guy himself! A cool way to end.

I thought this was their best season of the five, although the first might have been better because we hadn't seen anything like it before. But those first five shows this year were spectacular, and the second last show may have been the best ever. Really, all of them were high quality.

But the screen time AJ got last night worries me. I hope this doesn't mean that AJ's budding career as an entrepreneur will be an important story line next year. The kid is just sooo boring! Season 5 was great because it focused on The Family; season 4 was more about Tony's family, and it was the worst season.

Last thought: If I learned anything from watching season 5, it's don't ever accept any "help" from the mob (not that it will ever come up, but still...). That poor landscaper guy was just minding his own business at the start of the season. Then his arm gets shattered, his business gets cut in half and he has to pull his kid out of college, he's kicking back money to Paulie, he's mowing lawns for free for the bosses, and cleaning snow off their driveways. Then he ends up handcuffed, face down in the snow. Gee, thanks for the help, guys! Not to mention that junkie screenwriter that Christopher "helped."

Jimbo, I was thinking about the bear when they showed the bushes rustling! LOL that it was Tony and Carmella yaking to him about his wet shoes!

The Tony B thing was no surprise. But I did not like the way Melfi handled the session where Tony is obviously trying to sort through some bad feelings and she is almost riduculing him about the fact that he can't tell her all the "details". I don't know, something about that just didn't seem right and I usually love those therapy scenes.

What was with Tony thinking he is a "General"? Between his watching those History channel war shows and Paulie telling him he was a General, I guess I just did not get it. Was he thinking about how alone he is in his decisions and that he needed to "take charge" by killing Tony B? A little too much thinking for me!

I also wondered where the AJ thing is going. Is he gay? They keep mentioning it somehow. The lines were too funny there, "Event planner? Isn't that gay?"

To not have another season until 2006 seems so long but we waited almost 2 years for this season too.

I am still deciding about this season. The Adrianna episode was sooo good but the dream one was sooo boring. Also, how come he didn't talk more about the dream with Melfi?

I agree about the bear symbol...In the first scene of the first show this season I remember that bear pushing his way thru the bushes...now in the last show its Tony himself pushing his way thru the same bushes ...one was looking for food while another was looking to escape the FBI..I bet Dr Melfy would have a field day with that symbolism...I am sure the producers put that in for a reason..but that reason escapes me except fot the fact that both animals are tough and didnt get what they bargained for on their own. Good thing the man with the rifle wasn't still in the back yard on the lookout for the bear. He might have easily mistaken Tony for the bear. Or maybe Tony was the bear afterall..thats the symbolism...Tony alone..wet..cold..and just struggling to survive the night..

Maybe she was just using a "tough love" kind of approach. She said something like "own your feelings" that Tony seemed to take to heart. He almost immediately took charge and solved the Tony B. problem. So it seemed to me that this was one of their most effective sessions. She actually got through to him for a change.

I was really disappointed in the finale.:( For all the excitement that there was, it wasn't very exciting. Does that make sense?

I guess the major cliffhangers are when and how the girls are going to find out about Adrianna, and whether or not Johnny Sack is going to start blabbing in jail.

Of course we have a LONG time to think about it.;)

I consider Christopher on the run to be a cliffhanger. Also, what will the Phil situation be if Johnny is not in immediate charge. Is that storyline over?

Also, Meadow and Finn getting married. Not a "cliffhanger" but an ongoing, unresolved story.

There's a few more.

Phil will probably take over, whether he's supposed to or not.

Meadow and Finn. Can't wait to see how that wedding turns out. Maybe something like the wedding in Godfather III? :p

Unless Phil was involved somehow in whatever the FBI busted Johnny on. If he was, he's off to jail for the rest of his life like Feech LaManna, and out of the show. I personally think that's what will happen.

I watched Casino on one of the movie channels over the weekend. The actor that plays Phil had a key part in that movie. And his character made Phil seem like a choirboy. He beat Joe Pesci almost to death with a baseball bat, and then buried him alive!

That's the kind of thing Tony B. had to look forward to if Tony S. hadn't taken care of it first.

Jimbo - did you know he was in Goodfellas too? Only that time Pesci beat him to death.

Pesci also shot Michael Imperioli (Christopher) twice.

Of course, Lorraine Bracco was a major character in Goodfellas.

I LOVE both Goodfellas and Casino.

And, he was also in Raging Bull with Joe Pesci. In that one Pesci's character jumped him outside a night club, and gave him a serious beating. It wound up with his head wedged in a car door, and Pesci slamming the door closed a few times.

That guy and Pesci go waaay back. And who knows, maybe Joe Pesci will be on Sopranos next year!

Someone speculated that on a different web site. I think it would be a riot - even for just one show.

Wel, it's safe to say Joe Pesci won't be too busy to join the cast. Other than those crummy phone company commercials he's in I haven't seen him for quite a while.
