Who will be at the Poly in August 2012?

Hey everyone, I'm Mcdomzal's DS, I figured I'd stop lurking and post myself. We figured out last week that I will be able to make the trip! And seeing as I'll be turning 21 in June, I'm looking forward to getting a few drinks at Tambu...:drinking1

I will have just turned 18! *jealous*! :thumbsup2

Hurray! Welcome to the thread, and happy birthday in June! We'll be seeing you in Tambu...apparently we will be there quite often...not that there's anything wrong with that!

Well the TA rate was still available last night so we are officially 12 nights Poly CL 8/5-8/17! :cool1:

:thumbsup2 :dance3:

I was able to get the airline rate for our stay--Poly CL GV :)

You folks employed in the travel business are soooo lucky! I will work for an airline or be a travel agent in my next life so I can take more trips! Best I can do now is nurses' rates at the Swan/Dolphin, which is nice. Some day, I might want to stay there!

I will have just turned 18! *jealous*! :thumbsup2

You can still enjoy the ambience of the Tambu with a nice virgin Pina Colava, or some mixed tropical juice in a pineapple. I'll share my spork...er...dad's spork...which he's sharing with me!

...I found myself doing my weekly shopping in a local warehouse club. Since it's officially Spring, it means that they are already set for Summer. Hibiscus-print beach chairs, hula grass-trimmed beach umbrellas, Margaritaville blenders, Hawaiian kettle chips...

Why is it that EVERY item seemed to be Poly-related? I think we might have Poly on the brain...

So, iloveeeyore...how many days out are we going to have a family Poly-themed meal? 100 days? I'm ready to bring the bamboo placemats out...:thumbsup2

Have you found a pair of coconuts that will fit me, yet? ;) When you do, I'll fix you a Backscratcher!

Meantime, I was thinking about a nice dinner with some Polynesian flair at our double-digit dance mark?!

Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock............................

Patiently waiting for August to get here..................:rolleyes1

We should plan a DIS meetup at the Poly---PM on August 5th?? :dance3: :thumbsup2

Our first trip to the Poly is scheduled for Aug 19-27. Can't believe its under 5 months. :cool1:

Counting the days...

Waiting for school to end and Disney to start is a real pain. :sad2: But that only leaves more time for planning/watching the planning video/packing! Am I the only one who loves the suspense and fun of the whole preparation process almost as much as the actual trip?

So yesterday at Target I found a Disney Parks BluRay. It's almost 3 hours long. I rejoiced in the aisle like a school girl when I found it. That should give me a Disney fix when I need it for the next 131 days!

I definitely enjoy the planning and anticipation almost as much as the trip!!! You should have seen DS(fightinillini229) and me in the Disney store last week, we were like kids in a candy store! :thumbsup2

Hey, Fightinillini229, shouldn't you be studying not looking up pictures of dole whips? :rotfl: Just kidding! Have a great day!

Bought that at Sam's Club, and put it on my Classic ipod. On the odd Saturday when we are all home, I just play it in the background.

What I can't take is the 2012 Disney DVD. It starts out with something like "Because you know that there are only so many magical moments left." or something like that. No fair pulling on our daughter-about-to go-to college heartstrings!

Dole Whips AND Carousel of Progress? Sounds like parenting done right to me! :thumbsup2

I HATE that line. It makes me feel like my parents are on the brink of death. :sad2:

As of this moment, we have 8PM dinner at the GF, followed by our first ever attempt at evening EMH at MK on the 5th. We could maybe do a pre-dinner cocktail that night if that works for everyone?

Welcome! Enjoy the Poly Kool Aid! I added you to the list in post #2.

I love this pic! Thanks for sharing. We are also counting the days, but so many exciting things are happening between now and then. We are trying to savor this time, too!

I LOVE the anticipation part! It will be here before you know it. Meantime, too much excitement to miss!

UGH! I have been thinking of it terms of my kids, but now I will think of my grandparents (who are gone now, but always took my siblings and me to WDW) and my parents, too. Waaa! This ad is so manipulative!

We arrive on the fifth and have dinner at Cali Grill so a pre-dinner cocktail sounds great to me. I don't mine being socially lubricated for my monorail trip. :rotfl:

That ad is VERY manipulative. I feel like I need to take my parents on as many trips as possible.

DS and I would be up for that! DD and DH will be at Universal that day so we will just be hanging out waiting to go pick them up and start our REAL vacation!:mickeyjum
