This seems like a very cool perk. Pre-DVC we always stayed at deluxes and paid the $6 to "park" hop to the different resorts for dinner. Very convenient not to have to pay at all now that we're members (gratuity excepted).

I'm curious are there limitations to this? For example: Would someone be allowed to valet at GF and ride the monorail to MK?

I'm thinking that type of use might be restricted somehow.

Keep in mind that the DVC free valet parking perk only applies to the valet parking at Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and Boardwalk (regardless of where you are staying).

So, if you go to other resorts, such as the Grand Floridian or the Yacht Club, you'll pay.

not if you get the valet parking ticket left in your car.....

We use it quite a bit, especially if we're staying at the OKWest and are going to Epcot and use the back enterance.

We always use the valet parking at the BWV, VWL. At the BCV we have found it a lot easier to park near the back of the villas and walk down the stairs to the car.

The free valet service was once open to everyone staying at any WDW resort. That went by the way-side, now DVC members can park for free at other DVC resorts that have valet parking. I use the valet service all the time, whether it is free or not, don't like riding the buses to the parks from OKW.

So you get free valet parking at a DVC resort, and then you reuse the valet parking ticket at a resort where you're not entitled to free parking.

Sorry, I don't see this as good advice.

Looking at it from another angle, we've been handed that pass by the valet and told "feel free to use it if you go to the Poly or Contemporay." While we never have, we undersanding the reason before the valet saying this.

My DH tips, tips well, the valet knows this where we just were. They guys live off tips, they don't get the $6.00 parking fee, if DH goes to another valet parking with the "free" pass, he knows the valet over there will get a few dollars thrown his way.

I'm not saying I agree with doing this and not paying, I'm only saying I can understand the valet suggesting it.

Pardon my ignorance (I'm still learning), but if I were staying at BCV, I could get free valet parking at BCV?

That is correct. And not only at BCV but at VWL and BWV too.

You may not, but it is accurate advice. When they put the ticket in, it is a pass to valet park at ALL resorts. So, once you get the ticket, you are entitled to park. So, in the end, it is wonderful advice.

CRSNDSNY, yes you would get free valet parking there.

DVC members get free valet at BW, BC & WL. You don't need to be staying there or at any WDW resort, just show your member card.

I've only used the valet at BWV when we are staying there. I usually leave it when we arrive to check-in and the night before we checkout so that I can call down when the bellman comes and he can take the luggage straight to the car (we leave in the morning). If I can't find a space in the self park or if it's raining I'll use valet.

I've never noticed a receipt or pass when using valet at BWV (other than the claim check). Do you have to ask for it? Do you show it to the valet cashier at the other resort?

You are only entitled to park free at the DVC resorts.

wrong, again. When they give me a parking pass, I am entitled to park for free. pretty simple.

Guess you think it is okay to exceed the speed limit just because you didn't get a ticket the last time you drove your car????????

And probably will complain when you get caught!

Think I'm out of this thread.

So I wouldn't be able to valet park at GF for free?

You actually drive the speed limit? Well don't come here to Southern California. You'll end up wedged under a Range Rover!;)

The intent is that the DVC valet parking perk only applies at the Beach Club, Wilderness Lodge, and Boardwalk -- not at the Grand Floridian or even the Yacht Club (which is attached to the Beach Club). In other words, it only applies to DVC resorts, and only to those that have valet parking.

You'll pay $6 for valet parking at the Grand Floridian.

As wdwdvcdad wrote, he's figured out that you can valet park at one of the three DVC resorts first, and that if the valet paking attendent leaves the valet tag in your car, you can then park at another resort, such as the Grand Floridian, without paying the valet parking fee there. That's not the intent of the DVC perk.

When any perks are abused, we face he possibility of losing those perks entirely.
