Who on this board has the most points?

Our plan, is and when we find we have too many points..... Is to then start treating ourselves to a 3 or 4 day stay at various WDW resorts before moving into our 2 bedroom Villa via DVC. We loved the Poly, cant wait to stay at AKL, and we feel that this will help keep WDW fresh...... and burn excess points quickly! LOL

WOW:eek: We joined in July 2002 with a teeny 175 at BCV but I informed DH that if all goes well on the sale of our house I want more points!!!

Well, I was waiting to report our total until we finished with our resale add-on purchase. A long story but the whole deal fell through. Anyway, we have two 150 point contracts at BWV for a total of 300 points. Would have liked to have had the additional 200 points that we were trying to purchase via resale but I guess it just wasn't meant to be. So I guess you could say we are in the lower end of points ownership according to this thread. The good news is that our dues are exactly $100.18 per month.

We bought OKW resale in 2001 160 pts. and quickly realized that was not enough so we added on 150 OKW. And now my dh suggested adding on at BCV so we have a contract in process for 100. Total 410, yikes!

Aloha!

For those planning to be 'snowbirds'....can someone offer a rough guestimate on how many pts are needed to stay for month of Jan (1BR) or (my dream) Nov-March????

Mahalo!! :)

According to "Caskbill's DVC planner" , for a 1BR at OKW for the month(31 days) of Jan it is 736 pts.;)

For Nov 1st until March 1st(122 nights) in a 1BR at OKW it is 3228 pts.

      !!

Guess I'd better get working on DH....our measly 210 (BCV) won't cut it!! ;)

On the other hand....it's less than my dream home in Celebration!

Mahalo for the info, Nick&Cindy!

300, at BCV.

I'm not even in the running.

I have friends who have started a pool as to when and how many points I'll buy at Saratoga Springs.

Talk about not being in the running.....I've got (still in closing process, but almost official) a grand total of.....ready for this.... 75 points!

That's right, I'm gettin' into DVC by purchasing a 75 point resale. Believe me, it's all that I could get out of my Disney-challenged wife! At any rate, we're starting small (contract had all 75 points banked from previous year though!) and then adding-on (hopefully) once the wifey gets a load of the 1BR unit at OKW for our first trip 'home' in October. :p

We purchased 200 BWV points then added 25.
We purchased 225 BCV points when it became available.
We added 125 points to BWV recently (April).

So we have 350 BWV and 225 BCV totaling 575. My goal is 1000.

OK, I'll add my part. 885 points at OKW and BWV. I also own 4 other timeshares, 3 at HH and one in MX.

LOL, and I was thinking about selling my August OKW contract in a year or two. That is if I can accumulate enough available points to make it worth marketing.

530 BW, 320 BC, 150 okw, so 1000 for now. Hope to be snowbirds when we retire.

I'm just a single lass that bought BCV during the presale at 150 points.

Not much, but plenty for me at this time. :-)

Aloha!

OK!!! Another retirement question (you can tell how long I've been working, right ?) ;)

Hope it isn't too personal a question...but won't the dues be prohibitive for the 'Snowbird' plan? I'd LOOOOVVVE to spend winters at WDW but wouldn't dues be hundreds upon hundreds of $$$ ?

Wouldn't it cost less just to buy something close to the World (I know...not the same).

Trying to plan ahead

Mai Ku Tiki, I have actually tried to figure this out. We now have 650 points at BCV and OKW, which I guess is just enough for a 1 BR in for the month of January! Not that we will ever do that. I made up a spread sheet and figured a 2.5% increase per year in the dues. When we retire in around 2010, our dues will be approximately $237 a month, and the point purchases will be paid for. Not bad. Of course, if you look ahead to 2041 and $510 per month it's not so good. But I figure we won't be paying them anymore by then, our daughter will! Diana

Aloha!

:D Hey, Diana! That's not so bad!! I figured some much higher, ghastly figure!

If I can't convince DH to leave NJ forever ( ) and join me in our (MY) dream house at Celebration (or at least a nice double-wide in a senior village 2 minutes from WDW);) ... I'll just start buying me some more points!!!!!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc
